Thank you! Would you also check to see if the change machines are still in the laundry rooms? I know that other resorts have changed over to the credit/debit cards but no word on whether or not the ones at the CBR have been changed. Thanks again! Have a great trip!

I did laundry in Aruba on Oct 31st and I used the change machine. No debit/credit card option.

Same here. I was in Jamaica mid November. I actually thought they already switched over and was unpleasantly surprised to find that I needed real money! Luckily we had some!

With each resort having a similar thread, it would be a lot of sticky threads up there.

There is just one sticky called, "Resort Information/ FAQ Thread Links" by WDWKOOK. It has links to all the threads like this one including all the previous CBR info threads. I was just wondering why this new one hasn't been added to that sticky, so we can all use that link and find this thread easier.

Either no one has asked a moderator to do it or the moderator hasn't gotten around to it yet. That would be my guess.

I sent a pm to a moderator when I started the new thread but didn't get a reply back. It may have been overlooked or, as EpcotBill said, they just haven't gotten around to it yet.

So I noticed on another planning site that the rooms are all being upgraded to have Queen beds (aside from the Pirate and King bed rooms). Has anybody been keeping track of the buildings that have been finished already?

First post of this thread.

Hi everyone!

I just changed our third installment of our reservation from Pop Century to CBR.
Our dates for the Beach Bum Roll Call is January 22-28
We are currently booked in a Standard View with a request for either Aruba or Jamaica, but this could possibly change to a King Bed later.

We have been to the resort one time before back in May for the first SWW and we have been for fishing excursions there as well (Big Fish!)

Excited that we will be at CBR for the final leg of the vacation :)

January will be our 6th stay at CBR... my wife and I and 3 kids (10,8,6) have made the week of Martin Luther King Day a yearly tradition as the crowds after Monday are minimal.
Our first trip was in 2010 and we have been every year since. We are excited to see the refurbished rooms (hopefully) this trip. The old rooms were getting tired for sure.
We get two connecting rooms and have stayed in every village so far except Trinidad North. I'm wondering I'd anyone has ever gotten connecting rooms, one with a king and one with 2 doubles (now queens)? We didn't book this but I was going to ask at check in, or in a fax, if we could get this.
Lastly, using DME to get to the airport, I know they pick you up at your room 4 hours before your flight... Has anyone ever been picked up like 3 hours prior to your flight? We always end up at our gate far too early and I'm sure you all know how that goes with 3 kids.

Just checked in an hour ago...was to be in Jamaica 41 second floor, but room wasn't ready, so got Jamaica 46 first floor, which is what I wanted...nice room, with murphy bed and DD13 has already claimed it as her spot for the trip...so DW and I each can have a queen bed to ourselves.

About to head over to OPR to get our mugs and kill some time before our dinner reservation.

Anyone have links to videos and/or photos to the new rooms at Caribbean Beach? Just booked there for our Easter trip since my sister's oldest son traveling with his school.(family of 6 so they needed to value rooms or one suite at AoA). Trying to get an idea of the new rooms look like.

Also, will they accommodate a request for connecting rooms (sister's family of five in room and son and I in another) if none of the minors will be in rooms? We don't really need connecting rooms. As long as they are close together we'll be fine.

The first page of this thread has lots of pictures of the renovated rooms. Not sure about where to find video. Maybe do a search on YouTube?

A king room connected to a standard room was our standard way of staying at CBR when our kids were teenagers and still came with us. I just booked a king room and a standard room, linking the two reservations with a request that the rooms be connected. Got it every time, too. If I recall correctly, I phoned Disney to make the reservations to ensure that we had it all set up correctly.

So, I'm presuming you booked a standard room and a king room? The king room is an added cost room so if you didn't book one you likely won't get one. Regardless, I'd certainly call soon and make any changes and or requests before you get there. Just my two cents worth. :)

Just booked for the last week of August! I am so excited we can stay as a family of 5! :cool1:

About to do online check in. Which bldg have been remodeled? We have a standard room booked.

Thanks

We arrive on Sunday for an 11-day vacation :cool1::cool1::cool1::yay::yay::yay:

We put our request in For Aruba and Jamaica online, but should we also fax the request? If so, when?
