Looking for some advice please...
This will be our first time at Caribbean beach resort and I'm really unsure the best way to request a room. I've stayed onsite before and left it to luck but this time we are travelling with another family and between us we have some mobility issues and 2 autistic kids. I'm hoping to get somewhere placed not to far from the food court/main facilities. After some research I've saw a lot of people saying Jamaica 45 is closest non preferred rooms, is this true or could requesting this backfire? I told our travel agent our request when booking but she has made no note on our reservation it is due to mobility issues. Also would online check in help (I have never used online check in before) or am I best to phone closer to our arrival? Sorry for the long story, any advice would be much appreciated

Definitely do an online check in and add what you can, but then also call the resort directly 10 days before your arrival. I have called 3 and 2 weeks out and for whatever reason the desk at CBR always asks for 10 days. We always ask for a pool front room in Jamaica and choose our building as well. We like Jamaica because it is quiet with its own pool like all villages, a quick 2 minute walk to the bus and about a 6 minute walk across the bridge to the main area.

This is genius. Wish they had something like this when my kids were small. Gives you the flexibility to just use as a single or connect for a double. You might want to search on facebook for a Disney World September 2015 group and post your stroller there too--you might have better luck finding someone interested in purchasing it from you.

Thanks.. I will check that out!

So excited!! Just paid off our December trip (Dec. 19-26 with free dining that we upgraded to DDXP). Cannot wait to visit CBR!!:dancer::bounce::cheer2::banana::jumping1:
I am so envious of you! Our trip is in 67 days and I haven't paid ours off yet......if I just didn't have a house payment to make I could pay ours off too. :( No worries, we'll be paid before the deadline. You have to feel spectacular about having yours paid for!

Not to shamelessly plug my tr but we were in WDW in Dec 2012 and were also on the DxDDP....I started my tr when we returned home......then dropped the ball.
Today I picked up that ball and I made it through a couple days on my report!

Yeah I'm psyched about December. Now I need to figure out how to pay for all of the incidentals for our August trip. Sigh- money management is not my strong suit.
I am on my way to check out your TR. I've never been brave enough to even try!!

2016 WDW vacations have been available for booking for a few weeks now and I was so busy that I didn't get to book on the same day like I always do. However, today, I made time to book. Going back to the CBR for another two weeks in May/June, 2016!
I think it would be so much fun to go every year. My sister in law lives just outside LA and she's been battling a health demon. We're probably going to head West next year for a nice visit with her.....maybe head to that west coast park (we did this in Dec 2013 and March 2014).

I have thought about a trip to the west coast too. We wanted to do a road trip but we would be on the road for almost a week of a two week trip. I had planned a stop at the Grand Canyon, in Vegas, Disneyland, Phoenix and area 21. But the call of Walt Disney World and just a fifteen hour drive beat our the road trip.

With the recent questions on room requests, I contacted my TA and had her add Jamaica 44 to our room request. When I check in online, do I put that in again or do add things like 2nd floor or away from a smoking area which are my other hopes. I'm not all that worried about distance from the pool or food court, more interested in quiet and view. We've paid for a king room. Thanks! Love this thread, it has been so helpful.

So for room requests for our family..what do you think? We will have a extremely heavy 9 month old (haha..), an almost 4 year old..a double stroller, and 3 adults. Do we try to get close and do Martinique? Or do we go for Aruba/Jamaica across the lake? Which are we more likely to actually get? We will likely use the main pool lots and only really important thing is that we get connecting room

Thanks!

Heck, ask for Trinidad North ground level. It has a nice, shaded area, and is at most a 3-4 minute walk to OPR.

YES! Its our first time! I can't wait. I think I'm more excited than my kids. Lol.

DW and I often were, too. Now it's just the two of us most of the time. I'm the WDW obsessive one in our house, always checking out the deals and keeping tabs on airfare. She bugs me about it but sure doesn't complain when we can save a bit when we go. She's the "fire-breathing park commando" once we get there!

We are officially booked at CBR! I booked right around 180 days out at POR. We stayed offsite until about 10 years ago, when we started staying at POP (on our honeymoon). DH was ready for a change, so we booked there. It really didn't seem like the right choice for us (my dad has difficulty walking), so we kept waiting for discounts to decide. After thinking POR, WL, CBR, and POFQ, we ended up with CBR. There was drama with no discounted rooms available, but we finally got 2 preferred rooms, which we need for dad. I'm going to request 1st floor connecting, as we won't be able to get dad's ECV up the stairs. If I keep it to just those requests, with 1st floor our first request, I'm hoping we get them!! Now I just need to learn more about our resort, since I don't plan to change again!!

I'm sure you will get first floor. Be sure to mention the ECV when making your requests as it is a medical need.

That is good. I'll make sure my travel agent has it in there, and I'll reiterate right before we go. I have to get that reserved for him next, I guess! We also need to get our tickets purchased.
