Just called in my room requests yesterday and was told we are in 45 or 51, can someone tell me how far of a walk either of those are to the busses or Old Port Royale?

There is a map in the first post that gives building numbers. That should give a good idea how close you are.

Hi All!

My mom and I got back from our Disney vacation last night (SAD!!!)

All in all, we had a wonderful stay in the CBR. We requested to stay in Aruba or Jamaica and were placed in our water view Aruba 5230. It was a great location for getting to OPR. The walk was a little longer than I would have liked to get to the bus, but it was okay. Also, we were usually the 2nd stop for all buses going to the parks and coming home...so it was good to get a seat every time and to get dropped off so quickly when coming home.

I have to make one comment about the smoking, as I know others mentioned this previously. For the most part, I saw people utilizing the designated smoking areas (which if you are a smoker, thank you for going to those areas!).

However, the people in the room next door to us smoked outside their room multiple times a day where the smoke would travel from the outside into our room through the air conditioner/vents...and it was a very strong smell...I would be laying in bed and smelling smoke. The guests were crouched down sitting against their window smoking, so that they would not be seen by any worker walking by, because they were blocked by the trees. If you are a smoker, please use the designated areas...the vents really take the smoke into the rooms. We ended up complaining to the staff because it was so constant.

All in all, that was my only complaint. Otherwise, the service was great, view wonderful, the room was great and the bed was super comfy

Good morning! I am coming back to update the beach bum roll call but wanted to fill ya'll in on a recent CBR development.

A friend of mine is on a travel agent related trip to WDW right now and she just posted that the rooms for five should be available for booking in March.

Does anyone have opinions on Shutters? We are thinking of eating there for an easy evening (my DDs will be performing with their dance team one of the days we are there...we're thinking of Shutters for that day, because we won't know where exactly they'll perform until 45 days out).

I didn't realize I could call before my stay and find out which building I would be in. What number do i call? Is it just central reservations?

Here now, first time at CBR. Got our room request of Jamaica. In building 46, good location. Refurb is nice. Buses have been packed - standing room only 95% of the time and in our opinion it's taking a while for buses to come. With as busy and large as the resort is, they should be sending buses way more often. I have to attribute the chaos to the free dining - with only CBR and CSR being offered, I'm sure the resort is at capacity. Food court was beyond packed tonight around 630 as well. No seats. Pool is nice but unfortunately haven't been able to use it a lot due to the weather.

Anyone know if you can bring your suitcase on the internal bus? We check out Wednesday and want to store our bags for a while, but are way too far from custom house to walk there with our bags. If you can't, what's the process for bell services to pick up and store your bags? How far in advance should you call or can you schedule a time? We will be trying to make rope drop.

Just checked in and waiting for our luggage to arrive.....checked in online, faxed and called request for second floor aruba or jamaica and got first floor babados - not one request filled

We checked in on the 14. Called, faxed and called again. Not one request filled. Have a mother with mobility issues. They still put us on the second floor. I spoke to 2 different people and was told that NOTHING would be available our entire 11 day trip!! ridiculous!!! No way that is possible. We have been struggling with the stairs our first 4 days here so far. We are in Martinique building 23. Not a refurb. Not close to OPR. Needless to say, not spending any money there. On the bright side, we are close to a bus stop. The room is clean and we had to call housekeeping for a new hair dryer because ours was "on fire" the first day. Yes... Literally flames and smoking. They brought a new one immediately. We also needed blankets and they brought those quickly, as well. We do tip mouse keeping daily, but no special towel animals or anything cute in the room. My sister's room has had cute things done each day. And no.... She isn't tipping any more.. Lol.
Buses have been fair. Very full. Standing room only most days. My sister waited over an hour last night coming home from magic kingdom. Our wait from downtown disney was 40 minutes. Magic kingdom and HS quite busy. AK wasn't bad today. Raining though

I should be more specific:
1. Quick service dining poor. I don't care for how it is set up. Difficult if one child wants a burger and one wants pizza, have to wait in 2 seperate very long lines. Wasn't impressed with the quality of food
2. Too many bus stops, not enough busses. Wait too long, then had 2 scooters on our bus. Squeezed us onto the bus, couldn't even breath
3. Staff too short with me when I asked about a first floor room. I was being very nice and patient, but still treated like I was asking for something special. Later, I spoke with a different person, she was more helpful but stated that nothing available out entire stay. How could not one first floor open up during our trip?? Not sure what the big deal was. I wasn't demanding a certain building or refurb room.
4. Pool area chopped up. I felt it was difficult to get around from one side to the other. Seemed too small for such a large resort.
5. Too many smokers. No one regulating them. They smoke where ever they want
6. Hair dryer on fire

great for even the older kids...mine were 5 & 7.

Raining thoughdde1e Overall, I'm honestly disappointed with the resort. This thread was so positive, that I really had my hopes up. Will not be staying here again. Not worth the free dining. My previous experiences at POR were so great, this doesn't even compare. My sister has stated at POP three times and I feel bad that I talked her into trying CB. It's pretty sad when someone prefers a value resort. If any of you reading this have an opportunity to change resorts, I would highly encourage it.

Couldn't agree more with all things mentioned. Also here now, leaving on Wednesday. Only positive I'll add is that we were fortunate enough to get our request for Jamaica filled, but we did have a king room booked.

You can call housekeeping and they will bring you as many blankets as you need. The blankets are pretty nice
