Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

If you’re renting a BWV studio from a DVC member, the member must submit your requests to Member Services via chat/email/phone. Some guests submit requests via an independent online service. Either way, guests seem to have the same chance of having their requests fulfilled (some do, some don’t).

Oh, ok. So then it's not something I can do myself even though the reservation is now in my name, etc. etc.?
If I can't do it, then I can ask them to make a request and if so , how much ahead of time would they need to do it?

so is it worth ordering groceries compared to buying at screen door general store? I understand screen door is more expensive, but how much more expensive? I was planning to buy just a few things, like milk, cereal, a 12 pack soda can, and 2 or 3 bottles of wine, banana and strawberry. not sure if it is worth all the hassle of ordering online if we plan to eat at the parks every day, with just some snacking in the morning for the kids (hence milk, cereal and fruits)
When we don’t have a car, DH and I find the convenience of the Screen Door to be worth the extra cost for the eggs, bacon, and cereal we buy. OTOH, I have seen apples and bananas but not fresh strawberries there. Many guests find it worthwhile to catch an Uber to and from one of the nearby grocery stores, especially when wanting fresh fruit.

Correct, you’ll need to ask the member to do it. I’d ask as soon as you know what your requests are, since the member may not be able to submit your requests the day you notify them. Reportedly, room assignments are made 5-7 days before checkin, so again I’d give the DVC member as much lead time as you can.

If you’re renting from the member directly, you can contact them the same way you’ve done to make your reservation. If you’re renting via a company, read your contract to know what procedures you need to follow.

Ok, thank you for your assistance.

So our reservation starts 9/11/22 , therefore doing anything now would be a waste of time for them correct? It would be best if they submitted their request around 9/1 or so?

so is it way more expensive for that type of stufF? Like 2 bucks a single banana? 10 bucks for a gallon of milk? $3 for a single can of soda?

As an owner, I submit my requests as soon as I make my reservation, even months in advance, on the theory of First Come, First Served. If you’re working directly with the owner, I’d contact them now; if through an agency, I’d follow any guidance they provide in their contract or on their website.

As PPs have said, you cannot contact DVC Member Services to make a room request unless you are the DVC member.

Some people pay for a subscription to www.TouringPlans.com which can make a room request for you, even if you are staying in a DVC room and are not a DVC member. My understanding is that they have a special email address to which they send requests. In the olden days, requests were sent in by fax but AFAIK faxed requests are no longer considered.

I definitely would not wait until the last minute to ask a member to make a request for you. For all you know, the member could be unable to do it at that time (out of town without access to their DVC account, sick, family member sick, etc.)

Milk is $3.59 - $3.69 per 1/2 Gallon prices vary from 2% to whole milk. Eggs are $4.99 for a dozen Grade A large. Bananas are $1.69 each as are Red Apples and Oranges. Soda cans are available in 6-packs at $8.99 or in 3 Liter bottles at $5.49

Again I provided a copy of food order form a above and @CarolynFH also posted a link to the order form just above this post.

You can pickup items are you need them at the Screen Door or use the order form and have your items delivered to your Villa / Studio on check-in day by 5 PM. They just ask that your order 3 days ahead of your check-in date for delivery.

Thank you. I spoke to the Member and they put in the room request for me.

I appreciate everyone's help. I've never rented from someone else before, I've always booked through Disney :)

Would it be feasible to get the Skyliner from IG on a day Epcot opens at 8:30am to get to Riviera for a 7:30am Topolino's reservation? I'm not sure how early it starts running prior to park opening since Extra Hours would be at 8am.

Trying to decide if that's doable or if I just need to plan on getting an Uber.

I saw a rumor that the Bakery will close in late July. Any thoughts on where we would be able fill our mugs if we get them? Will they move the drink station or just not have one?

We weren't able to refill our mugs at Belle Vue Lounge last July. I hope we can this coming September.

As in they refused or it was closed? I know it took a while to reopen. They shouldn't have refused.

Are they both open the same hours as the bakery?
No, I'm sure they are not the same exact hours.
The pool isn't open as early as the bakery.
The Bellevue lounge is usually though. They serve breakfast too. So between the two they should come close to being open the same hours.

They weren't set up for it. This was our first stay at BWV, so we didn't even know that they did have a refill station there prior to Covid. We will certainly take advantage of it in September.

When we were at BWI last summer, they wouldn't let us refill mugs at Bellevue. They sent us down to the Bakery. To be clear: Bellevue was open and set up. The CM told us we had to go to the bakery.
