Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Quite understandable and no need to apologize. We moved rooms mid way through our trip because of the same issue.
Here's a pic I took from the pool one day after we switched rooms. The balcony on the 3rd floor with all the workers was our balcony.View attachment 186288

Glad you had a great time at BWI and I hope your next destination will be just as great!

So I emailed my travel agent this picture and asked if she had received a letter or email about the renovations (since I have not). She says her travel agent site says the only renovations are on the Villas side. She even said that this picture looks like the Villas side and that it could even be months old! I told her my DIS peeps don't lie.

I am a little worried though. I'll be there in 10 days in a standard room. I'd hate to be hunkered down in my room with the curtains closed during my down time. I was looking forward to a nice courtyard view. any suggestions?

That was taken on July 19th on the Inn side. I would stop by the front desk when you get there to ask about the painting and to be put in a room away from the work. Hopefully they can help.

UUUg just read a new trip advisor review that mentioned construction (it was a review for BWI, not the villas)

Pas were the CMs helpful when you told them about the noise level?
they were apologetic but I was checking out anyway thankfully

I'm sorry about the noise, but glad you had a great stay overall. Hope the rest of your trip at HRH/Universal is just as great :).
HRH has been amazing so far!

Hoping your stay is a quiet one Marina!

Like Mexi I was also on the Inn side. The evenings they are done so it's fine but it started around 830 on our last day. It really didn't bother me too much until day 3 which was our last day.

I am checking in two weeks from today for my solo birthday trip! I requested a king bed room on an upper floor and am hoping my requests are met. I'm also hoping not to be too affected by construction. We did stay at BC during their renos and didn't find it to be a big deal so hopefully this experience will be the same. Can't wait for my first BW stay!

Hi Pas,

Great to hear you are having a fantastic time at universal, thanks for checking in. :D Thank you for the well wishes, i'll definitely post with pictures once i'm there, i'll be sure to update regarding the work.

~ Marina :-)

By the way are there two quiet pools at BWI?

I'm hearing that the "adults only pool" has been noisy with the work going on. I believe from what I read it's by the BWI side.

Is there another quiet pool by the villas? Can kids go in there?

Yes and yes! None of the pools are adult only, but there is the main clown pool, and then a quiet pool on each side. All three are shared between the Inn and Villas. Kids are fine in the quiet pools, as long as they are quiet. :)

By comparison, on the Disney Cruises, they have real "adult only" pools that they fairly well enforce for 18+ only. No nudity though, this is Disney. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

Just booked not one...but TWO reservations for FF on our trip next week!

Yeah, I'm changing my opinion, I think it's looking good, although I still wish they kept a few of the old favorites. It's really a totally different restaurant, they could have even changed the name since it's so different.

But if FF2.0 is as good as it looks, we'll be happy to eat there! :)

Hi all - we are staying at the Boardwalk Villas in a Deluxe Studio Standard view from Oct 5-8, 2016. We have never stayed here and I was wondering what I should request for room options. We will be spending two days at Epcot and one at Magic Kingdom so wondering what is a good location - close to lobby, near elevator? Also which floor - upper? I am going to send a fax at 5 days out to request away from construction but was not sure what to request during on line check in. Thanks!!

I had a Garden view, and some how lucked out into this;

I requested near the elevator and a high floor and was granted room 5059.

I made that video showing you the distance from my door to the bus stop.

There is nothing about "quiet pool" that requires you be quiet in the pool. It's just a name for a non-themed pool. They are commonly known as a leisure pool at WDW.

Request Village Green if you want a similar view to peteykirch. If you booked standard view on DVC points, you will be along the main drive and will want a higher view (to avoid the noise from the luggage carts early in the morning). If you booked standard view on cash through Disney Reservation Center, request the Village Green.

DVC resorts don't usually accept faxes. It may be cycled right into the trash when it arrives.

We will be at the BWI October 28-November 2. Haven't stayed there for quite a few years. So excited to be going back. My question is the hair dryer on the wall or do they provide one separate not on the wall. I have found the wall ones not very good. Thanks.

Thanks! We are a cash reservation through Disney Reservations so I am going to request upper floor near elevator. I appreciate your help!

The hair dryers are now under the sink area in a bag. They are very powerful and can dry my thick hair fast.
