Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

We are checking out on Friday. I walked around the pool and there's some landscaping type work by the villas but nothing crazy (main pool area) we are already sad it is been 7 days :(

Thanks for all of your updates and pics. I don't usually post on this thread, but do sometimes pop over here and read as I'm contemplating a future BWI CL stay. Sorry your trip is coming to an end, but hope you had a great time :wizard:.

Two quick questions if anyone happens to know;

1. Do they still have carnival type games where you can win stuffed animals? If so, when do they do this and is it every night?

2. Where do you fill your refillable mugs?

Thanks,
Marina :cutie:

You can refill your mugs at BW Bakery, Belle View Lounge in the morning not sure about evenings, and at the main pool bar. I know they used to do refills at the pizza window but not sure if they still do.

I didn't pay much attention to games on the BW so maybe someone else can answer that one.

Yes, they still have the games and prizes, unless something has changed since my last visit. I think they open in the afternoon?

I believe this list from POST 1 is still current:

I'm not sure about the pizza window either. I think someone may have posted last year that they no longer offer refills?

Will also add that while you can get refills at the pool, the person working there was overwhelmed during our stay a few weeks ago and it took forever to get the mugs refilled. One bartender, lots of customers. The Bakery was far quicker, in spite of the walk.

I'm sure I missed the boat on this, since I've been away for a while, and I haven't read through the back pages yet. But is there a general dissatisfaction with the new Flying Fish menu? They completely purged literally everything from the old menu. I understand changing things up, like California Grill changed a lot in their refurb, but they still kept their signature dishes. But FF even broke their promise (published in the Disney Food Blog) that they would still keep the potato wrapped snapper. I actually didn't like it that much, but some of the other dishes will be sorely missed!

The crab cakes are missing, too. It seems more expensive as well. We used to look forward to FF, but the new menu doesn't intrigue me. I'm with you @psac

More on FF, WDW News Today published a bunch of pics on Twitter. Here's one:

From there you can see the rest. They loved the steak, said it's the best they ever had at WDW. Though I actually loved the old strip steak they had. Some of the desserts looked really good. So maybe we will try it in December after all. :)

They still have the games on the BW and they've been open every evening, however I don't know what time they started. Sorry I don't know about the mugs.

Buses: the buses have been shared with the Swan&Dolphin for AK, and Disney Springs. However I haven't found them to be overcrowded it just adds a few minutes to the trips. BW is the first stop on the return

Nice to see you over here!! We walked through BC tonight and I asked the kids where we are staying next trip and it's probably BWI CL. Every cm has been amazing and we will miss them so much!

Thanks for the reminder. I need to see what they up to today our going home day. Haven't seen them in a week!
I've missed so many DISmeets and made a few. we didn't leave the resort until 6p tonight. I can't believe this part of our vacation is over....Hard Rock here we come

At least the guys were off the balcony when you took those, right??? Did you meet up with more DISers, like @trishadono? Are you CL at your next resort?
We are CL at Hard Rock, but there's no way it'll be like here. Snacks and wine aside, there are no better CMs anywhere than here

This info is from last year, so it might be outdated. I stayed at BWI for a conference and we were in search of food after 11pm. The CM at the pizza window said that they do refill mugs, but only after the Boardwalk Bakery is closed.

Hi Pas, enjoy the second part of your trip :D Did the BW buses share resorts for the Magic Kingdom? What did you think of the bus service in general, did the buses come fairly quickly on a regular basis?

The MK bus was only for the boardwalk and I have no complaints about the buses. There's a board with times that is accurate, and the only time we had to stand was leaving Disney Springs after coming back from Typhoon Lagoon.

Thanks, even though I mostly read here and don't do a lot of posting, I find this thread to have a lot of friendly posters who are always very helpful :goodvibes.

From your posts and all of the other great things I read about BWI CL, it looks like I may just have to give it a try! Thanks for taking the time out of your trip to post about your stay, including pics :flower3:.

Hope you have a great time at Universal and enjoy your stay at Hard Rock :).

This is great to hear. I wish all of Disney's resort clubs had such amazing CMs.
