Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

I do have to say I have been impressed with the food offerings so far. We have always been believers it is a sample and we don't make a meal but it is fun to try a bite of new things

Having only stayed in the villas, I was curious about this question. For those of you who have stayed in both, would you choose a CL room over a one-bedroom villa or vice versa? Does the club lounge make that big of a difference?
Whenever we looked at the point charts for using points at a resort, the points per night were HIGH:scared1: in my opinion, not a great use of points, imo. Would DEFINATELY choose a one bedroom villa!::yes::

Tonight's offerings are a minstrone soup

Looking good and thank-you for posting LIVE!

Thanks for the great pics and updates. I love a live trip report

ITA:)

Would two adults be comfortable sleeping on the queen pullout couch in a 1 bedroom villa for 10 days???

Let me preface my answer by saying I've never slept on it, so I can't comment on the comfort or whether they'll feel a bar in their back. But, would they be "comfortable" being in the middle of the living room with little to no privacy for that long?

We have stayed in a 1 bedroom in three different resort villas (Bay Lake / Kidani / Wilderness lodge) but never boardwalk. My DH and one of our munchkins usually sleeps on the fold out and he hates it, he says it's like sleeping on a hard bar and kills his back. (The kids have never complained about it :P) But he says its very uncomfortable.

And we are live!!!

Heading over to EPCOT. I will give updates later

Hi again! Hope you are having a fantastic time. Since you are there right now, can I ask you a question?

Is there a lot of construction going on? (I hope not o_O) we are staying at the BW Villas in a little over 2 weeks. I am hoping there is not a lot of construction going on as I stayed at BC years ago when construction going on and we said never again! When I booked BWV in the fall I thought they said the construction was going to be over by the spring.

Also, I know there are 2 quiet pools, are they the same size? Is on better than the other? (I remember reading one is less used than the other, not sure which though).

Looking forward to another live trip report update. popcorn::

Construction has not bothered us at all. I miss seeing the Flying Fish sign lighted up but all in all we don't really pay attention. The Magic Kingdom is packed today. First year early entry has never paid off. They opened park about 15 min early. We usually get on Peter Pan at least twice. We went once and by the time we got to Pooh it was a 10 min wait. Got in first elevator of Haunted Mansion but then Splash was at least 15 and now we have been in line for Big Thunder about 28 minutes. It is 10:10am so just not getting much done. Fastpasses are coming up.

Thank you so much for all of the pics and updates. I am so happy to read through your posts. I can't wait to meet you (I'll say 6 days since the first night we don't arrive until midnight-ish and changed to a non-CL room to save some dinero). I read posts about construction and I get nervous...then DH reminds me that the construction did not affect our stay in April and to keep an open mind. Is Melanie still there in the mornings? She was my favorite for sure. Our family doesn't last long in the park nor have I ever made it there before 10am.....

3 more work shifts!!!!!!!

Hi Pas... I hope I didn't make you nervous. The work being done in the interior courtyard near the quiet pool wasn't too bad. It was loud at times but we still enjoyed our time at the Inn.

I was really happy with our room assignment since it overlooked the quiet pool but it was a long walk from the lobby so when the machinery moved in front of our view it just didn't seem worth the walk to us anymore. We switched rooms and we were close to the lobby and had a huge balcony. There was a tree in front but we could see side to side so all was good.

Relax and enjoy your vacation.

I make myself nervous ;) I'll be fine once I'm there I promise. Thank you as well for your live reporting!!!

I tried the seasonal cupcake from BoardWalk Bakery and I thought it was very yummy and refreshing.

We tried Sorinkles for the first time and all I can say is WOW!!!! The vanilla cupcake and the dark chocolate cupcake are to die for!!! It was about a 30 min wait total to get our cupcakes but they were worth it. IMO

Pas. I would like to say we would stay up and be your welcoming committee but we were asleep by 10 last night!! These early mornings are not good for beauty sleep!!

Here's some pics I took yesterday on our last day. I miss it already.

Lovely and thank you, @mexi. Do you have another WDW trip planned?

Resort construction is a tough one because you don't know how it will change the way a resort feels until you actually experience it in person. You WILL feel better once you're settled in your room and enjoying the Innkeeper's Club. The smile on your children's faces (and hopefully DH) will (hopefully) re-focus you away from any construction:)

I'm not even going to ask if you're packed because, well...But, are you going to post LIVE?

That looks amazing! I love citrus and it can be hard finding non-chocolate cupcakes, but did it really taste as good as it looks? I have to admit to having a couple resort cupcakes that looked fabulous, but after a few bites, were just too sweet. I guess it depends on the filling and topping.

Early to bed, early to rise person here, too, but like @pas130, we've never done a RD. Do you always do RD?

Yes because we like to be out of the main park that day by 2-2:30 , then DD and friend can go do what they want and we spend a couple hours over in EPCOT or just hang out on the Boardwalk and in the lounge. We have a dinner reservation at Bluezoo tonight then may hit Jellyrolls after.
