Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

For those who have done the Osborne lights...since it's super easy to get back and forth from DHS and BWI, I was thinking of doing it during evening EMH. There's a dessert party, but considering we are CL, is it worth it? How crowded is it, and how long do you think 4 kids would want to stay? I know my question is totally subjective, so any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!!

I think this is the first year they've done a dessert party, so no experience with that. We went to Osborne Lights a few times last year when we were there. It was super crowded every time we were there -- even during evening EMH. I can't recall where they have said they're setting up the dessert party, but I just don't think it would be worth paying the extra for that when you have CL at BWI. Just my two cents.

That's my thought too thank you! It looks crowded from pics, but it's a walk through so we will survive. I just find those dessert parties are worth it for location more than anything else. I really appreciate the reply :)

I believe they did do some sort of dessert party last year. I am the opposite though, and found the locations for them are most often not worth it for me. You really have to walk through the lights to see them, and the party appears to be at the end of the street, so you will only get a view of the one end. I looked at booking it, but couldn't justify the cost, when I can attend MVMCP for about the same. I sure would love the blanket though :-)

For the Boardwalk Villas, if you have a Boardwalk view does that guarantee a view of Epcot?

I think the dessert party last year was somehow linked to Frozen. Along with everything else. :). I agree though, since it's a walk-through its not worth it. We've also found its always jam packed at the entrance, but once you get towards the end it lightens up a lot, and it's better to hang out there for a while while it cycles through the songs. :)

Mostly. Because the buildings are different shapes, there are some tight corners where you might get blocked. But we've been in I think five different rooms and always could see the fireworks over ESPN from all of them.

I think the only difference last year, from what I've read, was that it included a FP+ to the Frozen Sing Along. And after all my previous commentary, I ended up booking it anyway LOL. I don't know if I will keep it or not, we shall see.

:) Too funny, I'm like that too. Better to book and cancel, than to not be able to book it if you decide to

Very excited tonight! Just booked our next trip to WDW. We'll be staying at the BWI for the first time. We love the Epcot resorts and have stayed at both the BC and YC, but now it's time to complete the set and stay at BWI.

I'll be hanging around this thread for the next few months to figure out all that I can about the BWI.

Yay!

Congratulations and welcome to the BWI/BWV thread! What view/room type did you book?

So happy I just booked BWV for my April trip! Please add me to your list. Checking in April 14, 2016 :)

I deleted you from BLT, but I don't recall your end date?

Disney eve !!! Leaving tomorrow morning for 12 days. Just.can't.wait......

Hope you're having a wonderful vacation!

That's kind of what we thought...

Now that I have a confirmation #, Kook, could you please add us to the BOG list for Nov 29 - Dec 3. Just a quick "mostly Osborne Lights one last time" trip. :hyper2: Happy to be there again, but sad so many things are closing!

I'd be happy to add you, but you're going to have to settle for the BoardWalk Bulletin:laughing:. It's so hard when Disney takes away a favorite, but it's great you'll be able to see its final appearance:)

OOPS....sorry...BoardWalk Bulletin - not BOG...I got confused with where I was in my excitement!! :D

By the end of the year, with two trips to BWI in 1-1/2 months, I should know the place pretty well! Ha Ha!!:yay:

We just returned from a long weekend at the BWI. I joined the DVC (so excited) while there so we will be back March 24-27 pre DCL cruise this time in a BWV studio. We just love the Boardwalk!!

No apologies, please and the DIS has so many acronyms, we're all bound to get them mixed-up at some point. Two trips in 1.5 months? What fun!

I will be at BWV 4/14 - 4/19.

:thumbsup2

Well, congratulations to you and welcome back in March! I know of someone else who's staying pre-DCL cruise very soon whose initials are @psac...

Congratulations and welcome to the BWI/BWV thread! What view/room type did you book?

Thanks for the welcome. We booked a standard view room (for now). I'm really hoping they come out with a deal for January - if so, I'll rebook whatever deal they have, and take whatever room category I can get. The Canadian $ is a bit painful right now. (For example: Our $200 US deposit translates to $273 CDN) So for this trip, every discount will help.

But for now, I'm happy that we have a flight booked, and a nice BW Standard View room where we can rest our head at night. :)

We're going back! I just booked DD and me for a quick December trip. We'll be there 12-19 through 12-23. I really want to see the Osborne Lights again. DD turns 21 next month, so we'll also be going to Jelly Rolls one evening. I'm so glad to have another trip to BWI on my calendar!

Hey there dear friend! I'm sorry that I'll be missing you. I'll be staying at the BWI from November 28 - December 13, 2015 under that magical deal. We saved so much we can afford Club Level so I really hope it works out for you. There are many of us doing the magical thing that are part of the Beach Club gang so we plan on having reunions and get togethers depending upon the various arrival/departure schedules. The magical deal for that time period was only for the BWI so It's going to be a real fiesta of Beach Club babes movin on over to experience the delights of the Boardwalk Inn. My husband is especially looking forward to trying something new.

Say Hi to the gang back home for me.

Definitely regretting missing you! But, we've reached that time when our College-aged teen is willing to travel with us, but still needs to stick to his College schedule. So while I'm thrilled he has the first week in January off, it would have been nicer if it was the first week of December. :) You've got such a nice long trip - you will have a great time, and I'm sure your husband will enjoy a beer or two in the CL lounge.

We will be at the Boardwalk Villas in 6 days!!!! So excited for our first stay there! :yay:

Yippee! It's so nice that you have a trip booked with DD and you'll get to see OL one last time. What fun celebrating DD's birthday at JR:)
