Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Yeah it's really sad. We always plan one night for an evening DHS trip when we do our December BWV stays. We'll have to spend an extra long time there this trip. Last time we got a hazelnut hot chocolate that came in one of the mugs just like the refill mugs and it was amazing.
I really can't wait to go. 90 days to go. My DS14 is bummed that he will miss it when the HS goes next December, but he doesn't want to miss any school this year
So glad you'll get to see them. So bittersweet for so many though. Wonder where all those lights will go? Hope someone "adopts" them.
Me too :)

Very excited tonight! Just booked our next trip to WDW. We'll be staying at the BWI for the first time. We love the Epcot resorts and have stayed at both the BC and YC, but now it's time to complete the set and stay at BWI.

I'll be hanging around this thread for the next few months to figure out all that I can about the BWI.

Yay!
Yay, a BC/YC friend :) I'm trying it out for the first time too!

Thank you so much for letting me know so I can prepare my gift cards!
You're welcome, happy to help :)

Thanks for the correction. I removed your semi-rehab, post-comforter, but interim temporary bed decor photo from my post.

Your cruise is coming up soon! You and DW must be excited. Have you taken this cruise itinerary before? Any post cruise Disney plans or is that December? Hope you have calm waters and lots of great meals:)

That's a funny description of the bed photo. :) yeah, we did this cruise two years ago. Disney Fantasy to the Eastern Caribbean. We loved it last time, certainly expect the same this time! Post cruise we're just going back home, but that's fine. It'll be long enough away. We're happy that one night at the Boardwalk, the Eat To The Beat concert at Epcot will be someone we really like, David Cook, so we have our APs and FP+ really to go!

Okay, I've read so many forums and articles my mind is pretty jumbled. Hoping y'all can help me out. After much discussion we are now anticipating our stay next June to be at BWV (long story short we were looking at GFV, but new people joined our travel and things changed). I am super excited to be staying in an Epcot area resort for the first time (favorite park), and love having the boats/walkways to both there and Hollywood Studios. But I have a few questions - is the room refurb going to be completely finished by that point? And are there any oddities or things I should keep in mind when making a room request (i.e. rooms without balconies etc)? Lastly, do you recommend a Boardwalk View or Garden View and why? Thank you so much!!

I did online check in at BWI and my requests and made the mistake of requesting a ground floor room and boardwalk view, I'd like to change to an upper floor but it's not allowing me to, what should I do?

I always stay standard view at BWV because I am points cheap. For next Spring Break, I had 5 nights booked Boardwalk View and changed to 6 nights standard view (parking lot) for the extra night at about same # of points. I really want to try a Boardwalk view. Some people say that it can be too loud at the Boardwalk after bedtime, but I don't know that firsthand as I haven't had the view. If it was same # points, then I'd rather have Boardwalk View.

My best Disney travel buddy and I are in the process of working with the Magical folks to book a quick December trip to see the Osborne lights, as well as some of the other "soon to be no more" attractions in HS. They have a great discount that covers the time we would like to be there, but it doesn't include a dining plan. Does anyone know if you can get a dining plan separate from a room reservation?

You can't purchase the dining plan separately. With the current pricing on the dining plan, you will probably make out better paying out of pocket.

That's kind of what we thought...

Now that I have a confirmation #, Kook, could you please add us to the BOG list for Nov 29 - Dec 3. Just a quick "mostly Osborne Lights one last time" trip. :hyper2: Happy to be there again, but sad so many things are closing!

Call the main reservations line and have then add the correct room requests to your reservation and remove the ones you made via online check in.

Hi hope someone can help :) I stayed at Boardwalk last year room 3266 was a nice room, but balcony had corner view :( I am trying to figure out how the room numbers run. I requested 3262 and 3264 my question is does anyone know if one side of hallway is usually all even numbers. I am hoping to get alittle better view this trip. If anyone has a room number with a balcony pic I would love to see them. Thanks for any help :)

Yes, the water view is odd, the garden is even room numbers. Go to touringplans.com and check out the views. Not all are there, but you get an idea.

Thanks Jeanne, I tried looking on there but was having issues with it. I should be ok if the room numbers run that way. (I remember getting off the elevator as soon as you got off laundry was right there and when you took the right down the hall my room was down on the right, hoping someone is there and may shoot me a few pictures of the room numbers before 3266). I will keep trying the app to. Thanks so much :)

AWESOME!!

Would anyone know how to change my count down I can't figure it out lol. Thanks
I have always had to make a new one, then go to edit signature and cut the old one out & paste the new one :)

For those who have done the Osborne lights...since it's super easy to get back and forth from DHS and BWI, I was thinking of doing it during evening EMH. There's a dessert party, but considering we are CL, is it worth it? How crowded is it, and how long do you think 4 kids would want to stay? I know my question is totally subjective, so any thoughts are appreciated. Thank you!!
