Good luck on ROFR! Those 30 days go reeeeaaaaal slow.KOOK, we don't homeschool. Our daughters are in 5th grade. They missed 6 days of school. (There was a teacher education day while we were gone so they wouldn't have attended that day anyway ) Luckily they are straight A students and their school has always been not only understanding but encouraging of family vacation time.
They had to do a Flat Stanly report during our stay...but they LOVED taking him everywhere and taking pictures of him doing things like Haunted Mansion.
The crowds were VERY manageable ! The weather was pretty near perfect...one morning it was raining but stopped by the time we got to AK. And the last couple days is when it started with the REAL heat....but it was ok still.
Nothing a little visit to the Clown Pool didn't cure! My daughters LOVED the slide!!!!!
We actually came home and KNEW we had to return...so we put in an offer for a resale contract. (We stayed on rented points this trip) it was accepted so now we are in ROFR.
Wish us luck! We would love to call BWV a Home Resort !

I'm a DVC member so I think it's BWV. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Congratulations on booking andHi All I just made reservations for Boardwalk Inn in December. Would anyone no if all the standard rooms have daybeds? This would really work out well for sleeping arrangements. Thank you
I am so excited, first time ever at a deluxe and probably last time at a deluxe. We normally stay at Coronado or French Quarter. I am going to surprise my kids and not tell them until we get in line at ME where it says what resort you are going to. Do you know of any requests I could put in for a nice view in a regular standard room. Thanks again. You're welcome and all the BWI rooms were rehabbed last year

I would suggest requesting a "high floor" "Epcot view." These rooms overlook the garden and quiet pool area with a view in the distance of the Eiffel Tower and Illuminations. The highest floor is the 5th. The photos in the ROOM chapter of the un-rehabbed room (pre 2014) are of a room in this location.I am so excited, first time ever at a deluxe and probably last time at a deluxe. I'm glad it worked out for you and your family to be able to experience WDW during an "off-peak" time, (if there are really any of those times left). I'm looking forward to some semi off-peak visits after DD graduates next year.
Yes, BWV. I just added it to the Log and noticed you're also going in September

Thanks for posting! Enjoy the beach! We've moved onto the beach portion of our vacation and I wanted to post a little update. We had a fantastic four days at the BWV. We stayed in room 2010 and 2008, which is a lock off two bedroom. There were seven of us. It was a refurbished room and it was beautiful. I never had the chance to get pictures without all of our stuff everywhere but I think inside the rooms has been covered pretty well. I did a little more checking on refurb progress. It looks like they are closing off entire wings/sections to do the work, at least a few floors all at the same time though I didn't go higher than the second floor to check. I do know the first and second floors are at the same stage of progress with rooms up to number 17 (2001 - 2017) completed. I snapped a few pictures of the progress in the hallway. So standing in the same spot these are down the completed hallway, down the hallway that was closed off with a temporary door that they are working on, and then down the not yet refurbed hallway.
Have a great time. Hope to hear more about your trip.So excited- had to share because my whole family is still asleep...staying offsite and just got a text that our room is ready!! It is not even 8am.
We did online check in, with an arrival at 8:30. Love it when things work out!
As a side note, great choice to stay our first night off property after our long nonstop drive from PA. We stayed at the Wyndham adjacent to Downtown Disney. We walked over there last night for dinner. Great dinner at Raglan Road. Then early to bed.
I'll try to post during the trip. If anyone has any questions-I'll try to answer.
