Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Really, a rollaway for a one bedroom? I had not even thought of that, she might like that.
Any information on how I should do room request for BWV 1 bedroom standard?

They don't provide rollaways in the villas. You'd have to bring an air mattress if you need an extra bed.

Heading back for our second stay at BWI 5/30-6/8! Getting to stay club level this time. Thanks for all the great info :thumbsup2
Congratulations on booking the Innkeeper's Club and I'll log your dates.

Ahhhh........our Boardwalk stay is for the 2016 Disney Marathon (we're doing the 5K). A lot going on during that stay since we're making it a "high school class reunion" of sorts. Need to see if we can work breakfast at Whispering Canyon on our last day...........that could work! :thumbsup2 We had such a great time at WL in Sept.........:cloud9:

Looking forward to staying at the Boardwalk, love being close to Epcot.........also thinking since you WDWKOOK maintain this thread.....;) ....it should be perfect for us!!!

Doug :goofy:
It's very different than being nestled in amongst all the trees and Bay Lake, but walking to Epcot and DHS is so convenient and gives you many great dining options and your room will be a bit larger than at WL.

Sorry to dash your hopes:flower3:, happymommy reports you can't request them for the villas. They must only be available in some non-villa rooms - sorry. But, the air mattress is a great idea, like one of those Aero Beds.

Thank you for correcting my bad suggestion.

Thanks for adding our dates...I think I fixed my ticker....now to do all the reading on this resort...hopefully I wont bug you all to much with all my questions....thank you all in advance...

WDWKOOK, would you mind adding our 2015 dates? (it's that time of year again;))

5/13-5/22 BWV (starting with VGF night of 5/12)
10/8-10/18 BWV

btw, we recently put in a resale offer for more BWV points - keeping our fingers crossed. we used to go on "WDW vacations"; now we go on "BWV vacations" :cloud9:

I am very happy to say that we have just booked our first stay at BWV. Our dates are 10 December to 18 December in a standard view room. I haven't read the whole thread yet, but am working my way through. We have stayed at WDW once before at the Wilderness Lodge in 2013 and absolutely loved it. We would have been happy to go back there but we thought we should try something different and BWV got the nod. We love the idea of being able to walk to two parks and the area around the Boardwalk looks like a fun place so we are very excited!

Thanks for correcting me about the bed spreads. I think BWV might have been the last comforter holdouts, just after our Flagship GF.

I know you trusted me, but I remembered I actually took a pic of the bedroom. :goodvibes

thanks! I got through the thread last night. some good info, thanks to all for contributions.

I agree that its good to try new resorts, plus were were able to get the 1 bed for not a whole lot more that the studios so that will make our time int he room more comfortable. Being from Australia, we havent had much background as to Atlantic City so it will be really different to see the themeing. I know I woudl have loved WL at christmas time, but I am sure BW will have its own unique charm and atmosphere.

We hit our 11 month window today, we booked a 1BR BW view at BWV for next December. :woohoo:

That's a long way away, but we have two other trips before then. :rolleyes1

Can someone add us to the vacation date line up?? We'll be there June 6-11!!!

SO FLIPPING EXCITED I CAN HARDLY STAND IT!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

Here's a planning question I need help with..

Our last day (the 11th) I'll be booking later flights (departing MCO about 5:30) which means we'll need to be ready to board the ME about 2:30 at the BWI...our plan is to hit up HS that morning - have a great lunch at 50' PT (my kids fav) and then head back to the hotel. I know we have to check out of the hotel by 11am, which means checking out before we head to HS...

Here's where it gets tricky...my DH is not excited about leaving the park all "hot and sweaty" (:rolleyes2) and then being in those "hot and sweaty" (:rolleyes2) clothes for the rest of the day until we get home that night around 7:30pm...

Is there a place (like the pool) at BWI that he can shower/change after we get back from HS and before we board the ME at 2:30pm? OR can I pay for extended checkout and not checkout until closer to 2pm??

THANKS! :thumbsup2

Hi WDWKOOK, I posted on the WL thread last week.

It is official. We booked today to stay at BWI Club Level from 6/9 to 6/14 and will be enjoying our first Star Wars Weekends and first Epcot Area resort.

We have unfortunately cancelled our March trip at WL for unforeseen circumstances but are looking forward to a new summer experience when school is out.

My son is extra excited about the slide at the Luna Pool.

My husband is extra excited about the proximity of Big River Grille and the Club Lounge.

I am extra excited about the proximity of DHS and Epcot. And a few days away from work. :)

Of course I'll add your dates to the Boardwalk Bulletin. Sweaty DH can get squeaky clean at the gym, Muscles and Bustles. Photos of the (women's) locker room/shower are HERE. I would think the men's looks the same, with the addition of urinals:scratchin

I'm sorry you had to cancel March, but a few short months later you'll be at the Innkeeper's Club! I'll add your dates, too and happy planning:)

Would you please add us for a BWI CL stay, Oct 12-19th. Thanks!

Excited to stay at BWI as we have always stayed at YC. We like to visit BW at night and enjoy the entertainment and atmosphere.

If anyone has stayed at both YC and BWI, how would you compare the walk to EPCOT and DS?
How are the buses?

YC always shared buses with BC and sometimes Swan and Dolphin. Who does BWI share with?

We always partake in the dining plan, just works for our endless stomach teenager! I noticed last year that one of the To Go carts did not take the dining plan. Is the only quick service location at the main pool or are there any of the carts part of the dining plan?

How long of a hike is it from the BWI side to the main pool?

Any other tips or advice is appreciated. Thank you!

hi all

i posted most of this on the DVC forums but i think this part belongs here:

hi all,

we are looking at purchasing DVC and are considering BWV. Please lmk thoughts/responses to my comments/questions.

we stayed at BCV (rented) last summer and DD8 and DW49 and I (51) loved it. we liked the location most of all, and the pool too. but we also liked that when you went back to where the rooms were, you were isolated from the chaos and it was peaceful and drawn out. does BWV also have that same vibe? we know the front of the resort will be full of action and vitality, which we want, but we want a respite and some nice grounds to relax and walk through in the back to get away from it all too. we think that if we were buying for the next few years that BC would make more sense but we are thinking ahead too and believe that BWV would fit our needs nicely as time goes on. DD8 did love SAB but the BWV pool looks quite nice too (though not as big obviously).

but the key question i have, not having ever stayed there and only having witnessed first hand the front of the BW, is whether the back is peaceful and spread out.
TIA!

Just wanted to drop in and share some pictures from our one night stay on Thursday night!

Standard View. During online check in, I requested Boardwalk View. This is what we had:

And here's a picture of the room:

It was really nice, and I wish I had a little more time to really explore it. Maybe next time. :)

Lucky you! Great view! Does this room not have a balcony you can sit on?

I've stayed in both BCV and BWV and I prefer BWV a lot more. What I like is that you still have the back entrance to Epcot, I love the Boardwalk food, entertainment, vibe, people watching...! I love that BW seems more cozy. The BC lobby seems like Grand Central Station at rush hour. The pool at BC is awesome, SAB is an attraction all of it's own. However, my kids (DD16 & DS8) both had just as much fun at BW's pool and I LOVED that I could see my kids from a cozy Beach chair. The quiet pool at BWV is heavenly when you need a break from the clown! At SAB I had to be in the pool following them around constantly. I actually hate that they have to leave the main pool area in order to access the pool slide. I also liked the views at BW better. I had a BW view one night and then we switched to a water view that had an awesome view of the pool and an even better view of DHS and subsequently the Frozen fireworks. I had a view of the entrance at BCV. :sad2:

What I like better about BCV is the closer Epcot entrance/exit, the Sandcastle Club, the counter service in the hotel, and the shorter hallways.

It did not. I was a little surprised but we spent so little time in the room (one night RO reservation before moving over to BC for our package) that I ended up barely even noticing. It would have definitely been a bummer if we had a longer reservation there.
