Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Hi all,

Looking to book (or rent points) for a 1BR BWV Thanksgiving week 2015. I looked on the WDW site and no villas are showing availability.

Are those dates not available to be booked yet (since they are villas and not yet 11 months out) or could they all be booked (I have never seen that before)?

Thanks!

It may be that it's not 11 months yet.

I'd put the word into David's Vacation Club rentals now! Then he can see about a rental for you as soon as someone can secure it, if you're really sure about the dates. Since it's a holiday, that would probably be the best way to secure a week, and pay less than Disney rates too.

PS: Can I join you? :rotfl2:

Definitely because it's not 11 months yet. And, yes, if you're going through David's or if you're going directly through an owner, you should seriously consider getting your request in.

Prior to the ability to book. It is a very busy time and things book up very fast.

Thank you all!

Sure thing Happy Mommy - the more the merrier.
I am seriously considering putting the request in at David's. The only thing holding me back is the no cancellation policy and the possibility of free dining being offered again around that time which may turn out to be a better deal than renting points (although that would be in a standard room which is no comparison to a villa). Good problem to have LOL.

Is the preferred view (garden I'm thinking not BW) worth it at the Villas? Appreciate the help.

Preferred view (garden/water) is usually one of the two pools at BWV.

This may have been addressed somewhere, and I was unable to find, so my apologies if this is redundant.
Are all of the standard club level rooms located on the same floor(4th), as the lounge?
Years ago we had acquaintances stay in an outer building std room with club level access. This was not a garden suite.
Thanks!
Deb

Deb, all the Standard CL rooms are located on the 4th floor which is where the lounge is located. In addition, 5 Deluxe (CL) rooms are also located on the 4th floor, but 5 are located on the 3rd floor. Perhaps your friends were in a Deluxe room on the 3rd floor?

I did online check-in Sunday night (at 60 days) for my pool/garden view one bedroom villa. I was stumped what to request. I selected high floor and pool view. Actually, the photos I've seen of the quiet pool looked nice, and I especially like the view of the waterway looking down toward the Swan/Dolphin. It's just my husband and me and we don't have to be near elevators or the lobby. I just want a quietish location and something pretty to look at while on the balcony. If you were me, what would you have asked for?
Bumping your question...popcorn::

So glad I saw this post. Totally forgot to do online check-in at my 60 day mark which was 8 days ago :crazy2: guess I need to get on that tonight. I'd do it now but while I can get on the Dis from work I can't get on Disney.com ....

We've never done online check in. And I didn't even realize you could do it so far in advance. Is there any benefit to doing online check in, or is it fine to check in once arriving?

I don't know if there is a reason to do it so far in advance, but the benefit of online check in is that you can provide credit card information in advance, note your estimated time of arrival and departure, and you can also note a couple of room location preferences. There's also a box to mark if being able to check in when you arrive is more important to you than the room location. Once you complete online check in you can typically acess a separate line at the front desk and pick up your resort paperwork so it should take less time.

Thanks for clarifying the location of the standard CL rooms for me.

They were not in a Deluxe room but in the U shaped part of the Inn to the right of the Inn quiet pool.
We visited their room which was a queen with a daybed, and were able to visit the Club level lounge with them( just to see it, not partake).
We were staying on the Villas side.
This was about 7-8 years ago.

One month from tomorrow I will be checking in to Boardwalk for the first time! It is only for one night before moving over to our Packaged stay at Beach Club for marathon weekend, but I am excited none the less!! Loving this thread and all of the information.:goodvibes

Welcome! You'll have an easy trip over to BC. Are you walking or taking the boat?

We switched from Beach Club to the Boardwalk Inn tonight for our trip in late January and early February! We are excited about this change. :) The Beach Club pool is undergoing renovations during our stay and we decided we didn't want to deal with it not knowing what to expect. So, BWI, here we come!!

A few questions from a newbie:

(1) We reserved a standard room in BWI. Have all the standard rooms been renovated?

(2) Any suggestions for what sort of room location to request? We are pretty easy going but would like a /balcony and a decent view? What sort of views can we get with a standard view? We don't want a ton of walking involved and would like to be close to the action (boardwalk and lobby) if possible.

(3) We would really like to eat at the ESPN restaurant the first day as our son loves sports. We would probably go around 1:30 pm on a Friday afternoon. What are our changes of getting in without a huge wait?

Thank for all of your help!

Welcome and congratulations on booking!

I believe that all or almost all of the rooms have been rehabbed by now, but there was/is still some common area work going on. Hopefully, someone will correct me if I'm wrong about this. You could always add to your request "rehabbed room," just to make sure you get one.

I believe there is only one room at BWI that doesn't have a balcony, so you don't need to request that. The Standard Views can be of the garden/courtyard/pool area, the canal or the parking lot at the front of the resort. The most popular SV request is an "Epcot/garden view." These rooms, on higher floors, have partial Illuminations views. The 5th floor is the highest non-CL floor.

ESPN at 1:30 on a Friday shouldn't be a problem at all and you shouldn't have any wait.

Happy planning!

Does anyone know if the BWV boardwalk view studios have a private balcony? What i mean by private is "walls" on the sides so that you dont sit out and see your neighbors to the right and left? I notice that many of the balconies that face the boardwak dont have the sides....and was wondering of there are any studio villas that DO have the private balconies? Any thoughts? Experiences?

disprincess- interesting question on the Boardwalk studio balconies.

We had a reservation at Beach Club late January to bring our daughter for college program. After returning from the Boardwalk 3 weeks DH wanted to stay here instead. Got a great AP rate for the studio!!!:cool1:

Been to ESPN Club many times for lunch and it is rarely crowded. It fills up for sporting events (like lunch on Sundays during NFL season). Whenever we've been there for lunch during the week, including Fridays, they've not even opened the dinner seating area. Have a great trip.
