The BIG question is coming up soon. I hope everything goes as planned.
A popular Standard View request is an "Epcot view, 5th floor." This does overlook the quiet pool and garden area as another poster described. Don't forget to mention your proposal when you fax or if you call have it added to your reservation and if you can, mention it again at check-in.
Please update us after your proposal if you can!
It'll be fun trying a new resort! The nice thing about BWI is that almost all the rooms (except maybe a couple) have balconies and a Standard View room can be any view, except a BWV. It's also nice that the gym doesn't share with another resort like Ship Shape does. But, you're close enough to BC/YC to stroll over if you want a bite to eat.
Are you trying any new places to eat and have you booked YS?
Yes, we booked YS! We were iffy since they changed the executive chef, but my in-laws stayed at the BW last month, and they ate there, and said it was fantastic. So that reinforced our decision to eat there.

. We are doing some different meals at places we've tried before, like CRT lunch (only have done breakfast), and Garden Grill breakfast (only dinner looooong ago.). Also Chefs De France we haven't eaten at in about 5 years. And we're excited to try the new Flying Fish menu!!!
I saw this CL/IPO thread
HERE, which led me to this FB post which nicely summarizes some IPO changes:

That's awful. We never really used the IPO, but I know a lot of people do. (Actually, the one time we tried, they were useless, but I don't remember which resort that was at.). That's still a bad change in my opinion, considering the price of club level. Oh well.
Just a couple of questions: In early December I will have a one bedroom Boardwalk Villa. It is my ultimate favorite room. Have these rooms been recently renovated? If I try to get the top floor, will I be disturbed with people working on the roof right above me? Will I be able to peacefully take an afternoon nap?
Also .... How late can I use the pool ? I really, REALLY, love to use the pool right before bedtime, it helps me relax and wind down from a busy day in the parks. However, last time I was there, 2 years ago, the pool closed at 9 pm, and I only got 5 minutes in the pool. I was not able to use the pool for my entire vacation unless I got back from the parks extra early. Do you think I might be able to use the pool around 11 pm?
Thanks In Advance !
Like Gometros said, yes, they were renovated last year. They did a great job on them. The only thing we found a little odd was the hardwood floors in the living room. It's probably more sanitary, but a little less warm. But they were brand new when we went last year. They might be a little worn in now, but in a good way.
Regarding the pools, someone said the fences were up around all the pools, but the locks weren't installed yet. I don't know when they'll have it done. In general all of the WDW resort pools are getting locked up in the evenings after a child drowned unattended a couple of years ago. It's been a slow roll out to all the resorts.
We just booked a last minute Christmas trip at BWV! We just stayed at AKV, they had so many activities around the resort. Are there any, besides the normal pool stuff and smores, at the Boardwalk. We actually stayed here in January, but i don't really remember anything. Maybe they do some extras for christmas? We'll be there the 17th, leaving the 24th. Just want to have some back up plans when parks get too crowded. Thanks and looking forward to being back at the Boardwalk!
Don't forget the entertainers outside in the evening! That's the big thing. They have a gingerbread stand in the lobby, but it's not really an activity. Of course there's the movies. I think in general they load up AKL with extra activities since it's the Deluxe with a locational disadvantage (only busses to all the parks.)
