Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Just booked my folks into the BWI for mid-March to see the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival. (Standard view room.) They are very excited they can walk to Epcot!
From what I read - room wise it would be best to request for them a little higher-floor (more quiet). They don't like being super close to the elevator but also not super far.... (can all this be said in room request?). Any other tips for senior citizens staying at this resort? Thanks

I called today and was told all club level rooms are now on the 4th floor. Does this sound correct?

14 months ago for our honeymoon we ended up in an unrenovated room that met none of our requests and it was PERFECT! Just found out we are going to get to go back as part of a split stay to celebrate our second anniversary! So excited to see the new rooms and visit my fav clown!!!!

Yes as they always have been and now there are even some that are outside of the traditional Inn Keepers Club double door.

So all CL rooms are on the 4th floor except for the 5 Deluxe CL rooms that are located on the 3rd floor overlooking the Boardwalk and the "Outbuilding" CL rooms.

Summary: just another day with a random CM response...

Our plans have changed again and we have switched back to the BC. Could you please remove us from the list our dates are 3/10-3/19. We are hoping to return to the BWI on a future trip thanks so much.

What refurbishments are they doing at the boardwalk? Just went to do some pricing online and it says there is refurbishment going on in early May does anyone know what it is???

There are exterior refurbishments going on into next Feb. They include painting and roofing. For example, I'm there right now on the Villa side with a view looking out onto the canal and walking path to Disney Studios (Croquet Lawn). They are painting the exteriors for this block of rooms which starts around 9a, is a bit noisy, and is limiting the use of the balcony. They also have areas blocked around the Luna Park pool for the same reason although the entire pool area is open -- just some of the walking path is off limits. It looks to me as if they may have put up some new gating already near the pools.

I have two studios (pool/garden view) booked at BWV in December. I have only ever stayed on the Inn side before and am unsure of what location to request. We would prefer not to have too long of a haul back to the room at the end of the day. I have seen Village Green mentioned a few times as a nice location. Any suggestions?

We request "lobby floor", "Village Green view". Keeps us close to the elevators and lobby to avoid those long walks at the end of the day. We have also been on the 4th floor with a Village Green view and it was okay--just a bit longer getting to the Boardwalk via stairs or elevator. In October we had the same request and while we received "lobby floor", our view was the Clown pool--it was fine though--still a short walk down the hall to the lobby, elevators, front door, etc.

Once again , waitlist comes through! I'm back at the Boardwalk 12/7-12, but could only get a studio - Boardwalk view for all but the first night. Took a pool/garden view for the first night and waitlisted . It came through today .

This "wait list" stuff. Is it only applicable to BWV? In other words, is there some way to wait list for a room category at the BWI?

Back to the real world and missing WDW. We had a mostly wonderful time as always, eating and drinking through the Food and Wine Fest. But I would be remiss if I didn’t provide the follow information for you all. The first morning I noticed that near the sliding patio door the floor was a bit wet. No big deal we thought. A few days later after some really good rain storms came through the area, the same area was wet a full foot out from the door. Following a further inspection, we found that the area under the large sitting chair near the sliding door was wet a full two feet around the chair. After reporting the problem, we were visited by four employees (housekeeping and maintance). They used a heavy duty shop vac to pick up some of the water, maintance checked for the culprit, we were brought some towels and we refused the drying machine for the night because of the noise level. There is no way we could have slept through that noise. No one ever came back for the towels and no one checked in with us on how the carpet was fairing. It’s room 4064. Oh, and if you are porch dwellers as we are (2 to 5 hours a day is spent on the porch just chilling and people watching) do not pick this room it’s one with a solid wall on the balcony. So if you sit on the balcony all you see if solid wall. A great choice for families with small children but just not for us. We now know if we go back the first request on our reservation will be “no solid wall on the balcony”. They are rooms 4064 (our room 4064) through 4056/8 if I remember correct, on the Villa side. We are already rethinking our hotel choice for next time.
Inn or Villa side?

Ok thank you for your reply. we are going in May so hopefully this work will be done by then.

We heartbreakingly had to cancel our April trip this year because our son was ill but they finally have him all figured out and now we can redo

April 28 - May 6. Our first kid free trip for my birthday and our first BWI stay.
So glad your son is getting better. I know how hard it can be with a sick child, especially if they can't figure out what is wrong.

Is there and email address that I can email to add a celebration to our reservation for Nov? Or can I fax it? Or do I have to call(trying to avoid a phone call ha)? Thanks!

Unless the WDTC's CM emailed you after you booked, you'll have to call to have it added. I was able to book my DME by emailing the agent with whom I booked, but not all WDTC CMs email their clients after booking. She also gave me her extension so I could call her back if needed.

I can't believe they didn't offer for you to move or at least offer compensation. Was this BWV or BWI? That was not a good situation.

Just an obsevation of ours..we used to generally stay at the Grand Floridian ..with an occasional stay at one of the other monorail resorts...and only recently decided to branch out to an Epcot resort..and truly fell in love with the BWI...
For those that enjoy a mix of park and resort time...this particular resort has such a wonderful variety of places to just sit and relax ( and shop..and snack..and dine...lol..)..from the lobby..to the porches . .not to mention the wonderful areas right out on the Boardwalk...certainly worth checking out if you are interested in an Epcot resort stay....:cloud9:

Thank you for posting your comparison for everyone:)

I just found out my waitlist for a Boardwalk view for my May trip to Boardwalk Villas has come through party:And I added two more days so now it will be May 5 to May 13, 2017 :cool1: I am beyond excited :woohoo:

Adding days is always divine! I'll amend your dates:)

Hi. We are staying at BWI for 2 nights (29-31 Dec) before our cruise. This will be our first time here. We aren't doing any parks.
I have a couple of questions - we won't be arriving at the resort until around 10pm (flight arrives 8.30 then ME to resort). Does anyone know what food options would be available at that time of night?
Also online check-in time is coming up. Can someone tell me what the room options are? I like to be prepared before I start. We are staying in a standard room.
Thanks :)

Welcome and I'll log your dates. Are you booked in a Standard View? If so, your view request can be anything but a BoardWalk View. Most request an Epcot view which overlooks the quiet pool and garden area.

Booked my trip for Star Wars Dark Side (Apr20-24) this morning and got a great price for BWI using a Pin Code. I have spent one night there before moving over to BC last year but didn't do much exploring as we pretty much were just there to sleep. I look forward to exploring the resort this time around. I also look forward to reading through this thread over the next few days!

Welcome to the thread and I'll add your dates to the BoardWalk Bulletin:)

I bet you're their favorite child now;). The only noise advantage to choosing top floors is that there is no one above you. For BWI they could request a "5th floor room near the elevator."

You're still on Crescent Lake. Enjoy SAB!

How stressful - sorry. I'll add your dates:)

How is the CL at Boardwalk compared the YC and BC club levels? Are they the same, food wise?

Food is similar, but not identical, at least that used to be the case. The Innkeeper's Club fairly recently revamped their menu. I used to prefer the Regatta Club offerings over BWI, and haven't tried the new BWI lounge, but it's getting very positive reviews. More protein and less fried food. All the lounges have been fairly recently redone.
