Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Sorry not sure, we don't have a car. Will walk over later to check it out.

We check-in 12/6 to a villa studio, how is parking now at the resort ?

When we were there it depended on the time of day. Up until around noon we found parking right up front. As it got later, it moved further back. We never parked after 3 pm.

I'll pop in and let you know when we get there the 27th. It will be after 5 then!

Where would I get mickey waffles while staying at Boardwalk? Dolphin/Swan? Beach or Yacht?

I've searched and searched but can't seem to find much info on the "Outdoor Building-Garden Room-Club Level Access". Does anyone every stay in them? Are they all ground floor? I understand they are not as close to the lounge as the other room categories, but what's a little walking after all that eating:). Has anyone ever stayed in them and are willing to share an honest review and pix would be great. Are the views that bad? I did read somewhere there are 14 of these rooms and all but 3 have a little garden/patio. The other 3 apparently have balconies? Any info would be appreciated.

Did you see post #4 of this thread? :) There is a link to some photos. I will be staying in a Garden suite in January, and I'm so excited! Are you already booked or just considering booking?

I did read all that good stuff but it seems like no one ever reviews them! Considering booking for late January. Already have a reservation at BC CL, water view but really want the BWI! This garden suite is the only CL available for our dates.

I was thinking both captains grille at yacht and cape may at boardwalk. I had them when I stayed there but cant remember which one. The captains grille menu lists mickey waffles under their breakfast buffet but Im thinking cape may has them too.

Cape May is at the Beach Club.

Potentially a silly question but I'm curious.. do the rooms at BWV have fans in the bathroom?

They are on an automatic venting system when you flip the light switch. There is not a separate switch for a fan. And that is just in the small room with the tub/shower and toilet. The sink/vanity is outside of that room and is not closed off by a door.

There is the Italian Restaurant Trattoria al Forno between the Bakery and Flying Fish (I think?) that is open for table service breakfast. They had the Mickey Waffles last time we were there.

It would be the closest!

Yes it is open for breakfast and they have a Mickey waffle as a side dish.

WISHING EVERYONE A BLESSED THANKSGIVING!

Hi there! My family and I are so excited for our upcoming trip to WDW and our 1st stay at BWI. We have a standard room for our family of 5 (2 queen beds and a daybed). I have 3 children, one who has special needs. Can anyone help me decide whether I should try and request a room in advance or wait and see if there is any "Disney Magic" upon check-in? I am not familiar with this resort, so any advice is appreciated. Thanks so much!!

:welcome: to the DIS and the BWI/BWV thread!

What room view category did you book? There are two bookable views: Water and Standard. For a Standard view, many like to request an Epcot view on a high floor like the 5th. These rooms overlook the quiet pool and gardens. But, your request might depend on the special need of your child and whether it's a mobility/physical issue or a sensory issue may change your preferred request.

Managed to get a studio DVC rental for Oct; extremely excited. . Guess I'll be stalking this thread now for tips.

Welcome and let us know if you have any questions.

Hello everyone!

When DH asked what I wanted for my birthday last week, I said Dole Whip float ;) My jaw dropped when he said make a reservation but only for 2 nights AND it had to be in a DVC resort since we are planning to buy in this year. OKW was only thing available. We had visited but not stayed and hey, it's Disney!

Yesterday I managed to find a le Cellier candlelight dinner reservation but it was Monday (travel day and we would never make it there) so wonderful DH said grab it and let's call and add one more night! Of course reservations were down yesterday, but we did get through this afternoon and while OKW wasn't open, BWV studio was. Could that be more perfect!?!

So we will be in a BWV studio 11/27-11/30. Got to love when magic comes together! We also entered the Darkside 5k today. If we love the Villas as much as the Inn, our first Welcome Home could be here. :cloud9:

Our last stay we were club level so any suggestions for breakfast or at least a good cup of coffee would be appreciated. :coffee:

Congratulations on getting DH to book! I'll log your dates:)

Morning all. At the BWV now SV 2BR.
No sign of refurbishmental going on around the villas except in far corner side villa by walkway to DHS overlooking water way. Fences all up around all pools, not locked.
Place (not surprising) is packed, but all CMs are handling is wonderfully.

Here is the model info from the back of the TV . HTH: Samsung

If anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer when I check in.
Thanks for all who contribute great info on this thread!

Nice of you to check-in with us while on vacation and offer to answer questions:)

Thank you! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving as well.

Apparently I just made a le Cellier reservation and no Processional attached. So ahem, new dates are 11/27 - 12/1 to get a dinner with the Processional. :duck: DH insists!

Out of curiosity, we booked a standard view studio but when I checked for the date change it says "Pool or Garden View". Are there only 2 categories: Boardwalk and standard view? I was expecting rooftop or parking lot view with the discount we're getting.

Starting to pack!
