Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Just an obsevation of ours..we used to generally stay at the Grand Floridian ..with an occasional stay at one of the other monorail resorts...and only recently decided to branch out to an Epcot resort..and truly fell in love with the BWI...
For those that enjoy a mix of park and resort time...this particular resort has such a wonderful variety of places to just sit and relax ( and shop..and snack..and dine...lol..)..from the lobby..to the porches . .not to mention the wonderful areas right out on the Boardwalk...certainly worth checking out if you are interested in an Epcot resort stay....:cloud9:

I love the perfect timing on that picture.. with the HS fireworks in the background.

Regarding Belle Vue Louge and breakfast. You folks say there's a toasting station? So they also have bagels spreads for the toast or butter? (butter?), cream cheese?, peanut butter?

The timing of that picture was pure luck..but we stood there and enjoyed the fireworks in the tranquillity of the pool area...very nice! It's now on our list of places to watch them from...

When you purchase a bagel....they ask if you would like butter, cream cheese or both...don't recall if peanut butter was also available . ..sorry..then you just head on over to the toasting station...very reminiscent of the CL lounge..except that you have to purchase the bagel first...:thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me if we get a pizza can we eat it at one of the umbrella tables by the pool?

Personally, I would request a room close to the elevators. o_O
How would I request a room near the elevators but not too near? We need the close proximity because of walking issues with someone in our party, but I don't want to be too close where I hear people getting on and off the elevators and talking while they wait. I am kind of noise sensitive :o

I have a silly question about the "grab-and-go" breakfasts at either the Boardwalk Bakery or the Belle Vue Lounge. Once you grab something, is there anyplace for a family to sit down and eat?

Hi. We are staying at BWI for 2 nights (29-31 Dec) before our cruise. This will be our first time here. We aren't doing any parks.
I have a couple of questions - we won't be arriving at the resort until around 10pm (flight arrives 8.30 then ME to resort). Does anyone know what food options would be available at that time of night?
Also online check-in time is coming up. Can someone tell me what the room options are? I like to be prepared before I start. We are staying in a standard room.
Thanks :)

There is a seating area within Belle Vue Lounge and an outdoor area just off the lounge. At the Boardwalk Bakery, there are outdoor tables along the Boardwalk where many people choose to enjoy their breakfasts/lunch items. You could always send someone to get the items from Belle Vue and eat in your room.

I would have that request added just as you said it..close to elevators..but not to close..those specifics would definitely give the room assignor a good idea of where to place you..:thumbsup2

What a nice way to ring in the New Year! I think pretty much everything closes at 10 pm..except for private dining...which is available till midnight..but after 10pm..the items are limited to a few varieties of pizza..buffalo wings..turkey blt..grilled chicken caesar salad and some desserts...HTH...

So many nice options...One of our faves is on the boardwalk..looking out over Crescent Lake...:boat:..what a nice vibe...

~ For those who are new to the BW or who just have never tried it..if you have a Memory Maker..or an AP which inludes the photopass...there is a photo booth right along the BW that is included..a fun spot to take old fashioned photo booth pics! :flower3:

Booked my trip for Star Wars Dark Side (Apr20-24) this morning and got a great price for BWI using a Pin Code. I have spent one night there before moving over to BC last year but didn't do much exploring as we pretty much were just there to sleep. I look forward to exploring the resort this time around. I also look forward to reading through this thread over the next few days!

Thanks. I will have to keep that in mind. We've got enough time to eat when we land in Houston. But we will have just had food on the plane so it's unlikely anyone will be hungry enough. And when we arrive at MCO all I really want is to lie down in a comfortable bed. Jetlag is great :rolleyes1.

Hello-we are booked in a standard, club level room. I seem to remember staking CL here once before and having to take stairs to/from our room. I need to have knee surgery-so, can't do stairs right now. Can someone help me with a room request? Thanks!!

You'll want to be on the 4th floor. Probably best to call and have this noted.
