Resort Thread Disney's BOARDWALK INN Resort

Soooooo.... for our upcoming F&W trip in October, I just switched from BCV over to a water view room at the BWI (got very lucky that a room opened up for our dates). According to Disney, our view should be of the Boardwalk and Crescent Lake...is this true? or could we end up with a pool view?

Kook-please change our dates next year to July 21st-July 30th. Thank you!! Only 5 more days until the countdown is over for this year. Pics and updates to follow!!
5 days!!!!!!!!!!! Awesome! (We are at 12)

Kerry-I will. Someday surely we will meet up again right??:o
Pas-yes trying to stay caught up at work and have a wedding in Omaha this weekend 5 hrs away:scared:. Catch you on the flip side lol:sunny:

We are back home and back to the real world, but can't stop thinking about the most wonderful time we had this past week and the amazing time we had at the Boardwalk! Our room was wonderful although a little far from the elevators (room 5006) but the view of Swan and Dolphin and the Tower of Terror was amazing! We noticed a few times workers painting but it looked like they were almost done by the main pool. I did laundry 2 times while we were there and had an awesome time talking with a DVC member and a friend. They were hilarious! Bussing all week to Magic Kingdom wasn't too bad. Had to wait one time for about 20 minutes but it was later in the day after we had come back for an afternoon break. We had an 8:15am ADR for CRT and got to the bus stop by 6:45 and bus pulled up by 7 and we were at MK by 7:20 (and we weren't the only ones at the bus stop either!) The only park we were disappointed in (we didn't make AK this time, too hot and kids wanted an extra day at MK) was Hollywood Studios. So much is boarded up and it was crowed that day so we didn't get everything done that we wanted. It seemed that everywhere we went we ran into hoards of people so we just left. My son was disappointed he didn't get on TOT, but we decided that we would do a mom and Dude trip for his birthday in December so it cheered him up. Next on my plans are talking with husband and looking into buying DVC! (Probably won't happen but one can wish!). I think I have convinced him that Disney is a great place. He loved the Boardwalk and even said next time we have to stay longer so we have more time to explore!

Calling CL experts....

Whereabouts would a Boardwalk View Club level room be located and what type of view would it be? A CM said it would be a view of the Boardwalk or Crescent Lake BUT when I go back to Disney's description it also states that it could be a view of the gardens. I looked at Touring Plans and couldn't even look up a Boardwalk View CL room so I'm confused where these rooms would be. Any help? TIA.

So I am hardly an expert, but I can say the room we stayed in was next to the Steeplechase Suite and directly across from the CL. Our view was right over Boardwalk Joe's and it was AMAZING!

You are SO close!!! Hoping the wedding was fun!

Ooooh, I hope that's the case...I'd like to think the extra money we paid was for the actual view :). Keeping my fingers crossed.

We have VERY similar resort taste, I hope you LOVE BWI as much as we did AND I hope our trip next week is 1/2 as magical as our April stay was ...I'll go back and try to find the views I've posted from our April stay...

The only room type that is always a Boardwalk View other than the two suites would be a Deluxe Standard View CL Room category. These rooms all overlook the boardwalk and Crescent lake.

As you indicated in your post the "Boardwalk View" Club level rooms may overlook views of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Gardens, Crescent Lake or Boardwalk. So you might get a direct Boardwalk view in about 45% of this category based on my experience at the BWI. They are close to the lounge and have better views then the Standard View CL rooms.

Is it possible that you have one of the Deluxe rooms booked, they sleep 6: 2 Queens, and a Queen Sleeper Sofa?

We definitely booked a Boardwalk View CL room - not a deluxe room. Going to hope for the best as I really preferred a Boardwalk view over a garden view.

LOL....We're actually staying in a regular standard view room in a few weeks with the kids - splitting between BC and BWI and are excited to try this resort for the first time (Got to love those agency exclusive deals :)).

Link worked - great view!!

I'm just a tad bummed now that I won't be guaranteed a Boardwalk view especially when I had the option to book the deluxe CL room too at that time. That's what I get I guess for not completely understanding the layout of the resort rooms :upsidedow.

If you booked a boardwalk view and paid the extra for it then you should get a boardwalk view. Up until a year ago the boardwalk view was by request only but Disney got smart on all the guests that wanted the boardwalk view instead of the garden and started charging more for it. The only catch to this is the 10 or so new rooms that they just recently added to the CL at the boardwalk. These rooms are located outside of the Innkeepers door and half of them overlook the village green area. You can see a little of the boardwalk off to your right so I'm not sure if they are calling these boardwalk view or not.

Have a great time, we just love the BWI CL!!

The main problem of the deluxe CL rooms is that half of them are on the same floor as the lounge (4th floor) and half are on the 3rd floor. The ones on the third floor have a larger balcony than the ones on the fourth floor. I haven't made up my mind yet on what one I want to request for our stay in Dec. Choices, choices. I'm sure you will love it!

That was my thought exactly but clearly I was wrong.

Thanks and I'm sure I'll survive :).

Another thing I just learned...thanks for that!

I'm sure we're going to have a great time no matter where we are - even though I'm sounding like a spoiled brat right now - I'm truly not :rotfl:.

Even the garden views are lovely, I know BlueSkies has had lovely standard views. I am definitely missing BC, but BWI is so nice and peaceful inside. It just gave me that WOW factor. I agree with others that if you book a BW view, it should be a BW view! After having an amazing BC LV CL room last summer and BW CL view in April, I am definitely feeling like a spoiled brat having a SV CL room at BWI. Even though I TOTALLY know we hardly use the balcony in the summer ;)
