Thanks, KOOK! Actually, I've been here for a while, but rarely post. I am mostly in gathering info mode. I keep waiting for some magical combination of posts to push me into deciding BWV over BCV! I may not be able to get either one, but I feel like I want to go into that phone call knowing which one I want more
Hi everyone,
Possible strange question (or maybe nobody knows):
Can you walk through the Convention Center from the BWI rooms to get to the Bus transportation?
TIA
Thanks, KOOK! Actually, I've been here for a while, but rarely post. I am mostly in gathering info mode. I keep waiting for some magical combination of posts to push me into deciding BWV over BCV! I may not be able to get either one, but I feel like I want to go into that phone call knowing which one I want moreI am following this and the BC/YC threads, (and of course, still keeping up with WL), and taking lots of notes. The photo link that someone recently posted from Disney's site showed the BWVs looking very nice! Unfortunately, they still have the non- refurbbed BCV photos there, so it's tough to do a comparison.
People on both threads really seem to love these resorts, so I feel like I will be very lucky if I get a 2 BR in either one. I've just never gone into a WDW res phone call without having very strong feelings about where I want to stay!
Thanks to all who post about your recent stays. It is so helpful!
If you are asking is there a way to enter the convention center and exit to walk to the bus stop--I would say no. You could go through the CM gate behind the BWI and walk through the parking lot (delivery and garbage pick up), turn right and walk to the bus stop, but why would you want to AND you are not really permitted to do so. When I have seen the folks using the convention center, they have to walk to the lobby, exit and follow the walkway toward the bus stop, veer left and go to the convention center.
Yes, thanks for reminding me! I think they are still waiting for someone to share photos of a 2BR. When both hotels are done with their refurbs, I am sure it will be easier to find photos and compare. The way the refurbs are going though, I am not sure there is going to be as much difference as there used to be. They all seem to be less themed and a little cookie cutterish.Did you look at the first page of the BC YC thread? They have photos of a one bedroom post refurbishment. I remember because I was disappointed they exchanged the jacuzzi for a soaker tub that looks harder to get in and out of.
Checking back in on our third day in the parks and at BWV. We went to Magic Kingdom yesterday and was amazed on how little crowds there were and the wait times for most rides were almost walk ons except for Mine Train (we had a FP for that). We had a BOG reservation at 8:20pm and got sat in the West Wing (dream come true!) between the portrait and rose. Amazing food and amazing service. Nothing like walking out of the Beasts castle to the fireworks and standing on the bridge seeing the fireworks surrounding you and seeing your kids in aw! We stayed for the second Electric Parade and was just able to sit down and watch with minimal crowds. Just a Magical Day! Today we did Hollywood Studios and was just not wowed this time with so much closed. Kids did get a lot of Disney Jr autographs and got to see Chewbacca and Kylo Ren. We did dinner at Hollywood and Vine and had Minnie's Summer friends and again had great character interactions. Called it an early night as we spent 13 hours at MK the day before.
Our stay at BWV has been amazing with great housekeeping and bell services (Late night Garden Grocer delivery)! Transportation hasn't been bad either with good wait times. Board with wait times was not working yesterday but I will keep you updated if they get back up again!
I was in the laundry room doing a couple loads of wash so I thought I would post! Gotta love a family of 5 on vacation outside in July! We have gone through a lot of clothes the past few days! Thanks for posting during your trip. I am always so impressed when people do that!
Does anyone know the measurement of the pull down bunk in the BWV studio? I have looked at pictures and watched video, and from those it appears smaller than a twin size bed. Thanks.
Just a heads-up if anyone is here now. We are on DME and there is an accident between Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary. Traffic is backed up and busses are caught in it. Might be a wait for an MK bus...

I was about to ask the same. We have a 2 bedroom booked for next year and I assume that pull down will be there as all the 2 bedrooms are lock-offs. (Is that correct?)
Thank you for the on the spot update which I'm going to post now to my CR and WL threads. I'm sorry your vacation is off to a slow start. Did you get the text that your room is ready?
We were in that mess on our way to MK. Good thing we left 2 1/2 hours before our Crystal Palace ADR. Now we are sitting the Splash Mountain FP line waiting out a nasty storm!Just a heads-up if anyone is here now. We are on DME and there is an accident between Wilderness Lodge and the Contemporary. Yes- we're at VWL for the first 3 days then move to BWV Friday. Can't stay away though- anniversary breakfast tomorrow at Trattoria!

I do not know for sure, but I did a search and found a post where people reported the bed is smaller than a twin - about 5'5" by 3'. I have seen some posts in the past where people reported that teens and adult children slept on the pull-down bed.
