Disney's BIG New Year's Eve Announcement?

According to Perez Hilton now, Disney is going to make a BIG announcement New Year's Eve on Dick Clark's New Year's Eve show. Disney doesn't have the best track record for living up to expectations with their "big" announcements. Isn't it just going to be that they are staying open for 24 hours straight on leap day in 2012? Cool idea I guess, but it's alot of pre-hoopla if thats all it is.

On NYE, Disney Parks will make a special announcement during Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest on ABC!!!!

The announcement will ALSO air on Univision Television Feliz 2012, which is being hosted by Don Francisco live from Disneyland Park.

We're REALLY curious about this! Sounds like a Disneyland trip may be in order soon after the new year!

The rumor is that Disneyland Park (and possibly Magic Kingdom) will be open for 24 hours on Feburary 29th in celebration of the extra day.

I hope it's not the parks being open for 24 hours on Feb 29th, because that would be a seriously lame announcement. Maybe it will be a promo for next year or a date when the new Fantasyland will open.

Just a wild guess, but possibly free admission on 2/29 at all Disney theme parks.

When Disney says they have a surprise announcement it's usually met with a resounding Thud! I sort of expect this to be the same. I was kind of hoping for some sort of announcement related to Downtown Disney.
