Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

Is there a way to find out what the Movies Under the Stars schedule is for the 6-13 of this month? I've tried searching the forums from my phone but am not having any luck. Thx!!

Well now I'm sad : (

Thank you though for the heads up

You can add a request to your reservation (and it's only a request -- not a guarantee) to have rooms close to each other if that helps. I'd also say that when you check in if you don't have suites close together you could ask to be moved -- but if you're in a Nemo suite, chances are all of those suites will be booked and you won't have the option of moving.

We were in a 4th Floor LK suite, Bldg 10, literally steps from Landscape of Flavors and the bus stops, yet I think there were only two other suites being used on our wing -- and one of those seemed to be a break room(????) for cast members at the resort (we saw them going in and out throughout our stay). My point is, if we had friends staying in a suite across the hall or next to us in that quiet location, I wouldn't have had a problem keeping our door propped open slightly so that we could all go back and forth as needed (obviously only if we were *in* the suite at the time). So if you check in and don't have suites near each other and you're willing to move to a different section, they might be more likely to be able fulfill your request. Just something to think about if it's important for your group to have rooms close together.... :)

You can get an activities calendar PDF with the daily movie schedule here.

We've been back home a week now after staying at LM section. It was a decent hike on the 99 degree days, but we would cut through the a/c halls of the Lion King suites when we could and we would walk to the buses via the parking lot instead of thru the Elephant graveyard.

Was not impressed with Landscape of Flavors. One night it took over 45 mins to get two orders (8pm). They were doing construction/retile-ing so I'm sure that didn't help things.

I will say my favorite thing about AOA was the Moscato Colada at the Big Blue Pool bar. It was delish!!

I agree with the above poster!

We stayed in a Nemo Suite last month. Adorable!!!

Staff was very pleasant and helpful --- but the food court! Ugh!

Does anyone know when the construction in the food court will be completed? I'm thinking that having the temporary walls down and more available space will help with the noise levels?

Approximately long does it take to drive to each park from AoA? We make the bus to MK but I'd like to know how long if we drive?

I'd venture its 10 minutes to Epcot and MGM. 15 to AK and 20 to MK

We are back from our trip.

We stayed at AoA for 5 nights in a Lion King Suite Bldg 6. We liked the location of the suite and the suite itself was really nice. My husband complained there was no desk for his laptop but I think that was a positive since he wasn't on it much because of it.

My DD14 slept on the table bed and like the bed itself but said it was too close to the door and people walking and running by kept waking her up. I heard some really loud people going by late at night. She is normally a sound sleeper.

DS18 liked the sofa bed and we had no complaints with the queen bed in the bedroom.

I didn't go to the pool at all. I was too worn out from the parks.

The food court was a mess. After discovering how bad it was the first morning we were there, I quit using it and would walk over to the food court at Pop instead 2 mornings. The other mornings I just ate what we brought with us. I sure hope they finish the tiling soon for those who are going.

Overall we liked the suites at AoA although I'm not sure if we'd choose to stay there again over ASMusic Suites due to the high price.

Okay, I've read this thread to page 69... still reading, but I have a question that has not been asked yet. In the Cars buildings 1 and 3, can anyone tell me where the elevators are located? Are there elevators on each end of the building or are they only located in in the central part?

Hallo.

Landscape of Flavors goes from Breakfast ---> Lunch at what time?

Please and thank you.

The elevators are located where the 3 "wings" of the building intersect. If you're looking at the map, they are in the middle of the longest side of the building. That's where the main doors for the building are. There is a stairwell and entrance at the end of each wing as well. Every building has the same layout.

In the central part.

Has anyone done the drawing class at AoA? Is it similar to the class at HS? I'm thinking about doing this on our arrival day.

Returned from a stay Memorial day weekend. Stayed in LM room. I had put in a request for first floor and pool facing as we had two strollers and didnt want to deal with the elevators. We had three rooms. Upon arriving the CM met us outside and I thought we were set to go, until he told me we were on the second floor. So inside we go, to change to first floor, after a long wait the new CM tells me there is nothing on the first floor, so I said are we at least pool facing, she said no. I said, if I can't be first floor, at least pool facing, again nothing. After a long wait, I said just give me what we had which turned out to be the farthest corner facing the parking lot. I was not happy that the didnt satisfy either of my reuqests and this was in the morning. Because we were the farhest corner, the walk seemd that much longer. I would not stay at AOA in the LM rooms again. I have stayed at many resorts, but Disney dropped the ball on this with the long distance to the food court and the bus. We ended up using the LM pool, since we didnt want to keep going back and forth. Also, there was contruction going on in the food court, with the parts of the floor torn up.

Checking in in the morning, you're dealing with rooms that were either still available from the night before (over a holiday, few and far between I imagine) or the rooms where people had checked out very very early and whose housekeepers were on the ball. In other words, a much smaller group of rooms than would have been available later on that day. In the future if room placement is as important, assuming they still have the box to check, choose to wait for THE room rather than taking any room. That option (not stated exactly like that) had been there every time I've done online checkin.

Hi! I have question about a family of 5 in a standard Little Mermaid room. There is two adults, two kids, and an infant. I'm planning a 2015 trip, probably January, and when I was pricing out currently, sometimes it will let me select one of these rooms, even though we're over the maximum of 4, and then sometimes it won't. What is their policy? I thought I read somewhere that if you have 4 plus an infant in a crib, you'll be able to stay in a standard room. Is this correct?
