Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

Two weeks till my trip!!

Also.. Does anyone know how we can get our flight reservation number from Disney? I got the book from them, but the site won't take it.

I found mine in one of the first emails Disney sent me after I booked and paid for our package. There was a link to click on to see our reservation and in it our flight reservation # was listed near the top.

We just got back from our 4 night at AoA and 7 night eastern Caribbean disney cruise ... What an Awesome resort. We stayed at Lion King Suites ... Very nicely decorated.

Question! One of us has to know the answer to this.

Stayed in the LM wing in October/November. Every time we walked through there, be it to the parks or coming home from a long day, I'd hear Under the Sea play at least once. It was not the original Under the Sea version- it's a re-imagined type, but for the life of me I can't find it anywhere! I've gone through every 'Under the Sea' version on iTunes, nothing is it. Anyone know who sings the version they play at the resort?

If you were looking for the most quiet section/room of all, but still convenient to animation hall..what would you request?

We had a 4th floor, lake view suite in the Nemo section Thanksgiving week and I couldn't believe how quiet it was! I could have sworn we were the only ones there, but of course we weren't. :)

Ok im sold..we were gonna stay at the caribbean resort this feb but we have now decided on the AoA resort. your fault.

How many pools?

Info found in the first post:

Art of Animation is home to three pools, the main pool located in the Finding Nemo section, and two quiet pools, located in the Little Mermaid and Cars sections.

BIG BLUE POOL: The Big Blue pool is located in the Finding Nemo courtyard and is the largest resort pool on Walt Disney World property. It features a kids water play area, a poolside bar, and underwater speaker systems projecting the voices of Finding Nemo characters. This is one pool you wont want to miss!

FLIPPIN' FINS POOL: The Flippin Fins pool is located in the Little Mermaid courtyard and is a designated quiet pool.

COZY CONE POOL: The Cozy Cone pool is located in the Cars Courtyard and is a designated quiet pool.

Booked our trip for 8/9/14-8/16/14 back in Nov. for a LK suite! Its for my 23rd birthday and I've never stayed on site before, despite the fact that we are frequent Disney visitors. Question regarding amenities as we are having a friend fly in from California and I don't think he'd fancy sharing beds with either my mom and I, my boyfriend, or my dad and stepmom. Does the resort offer rolling beds or would it just be easier to bring an air mattress? Love reading everyone's reviews! Really gets us jazzed up for our trip!

Most values don't allow roll aways...though I haven't heard about AoA, but my guess is still no, so I would bring a mattress if the sleeping situation calls for one. You can call and ask and even have them note it on your reservation, I know they make exceptions on things at times, but it's never a guarantee.

Since you are in a suite which does sleep six, if some of your party pairs up you should be ok. The bedding is not the usual arrangement: one double in the bedroom, and in the living room there is one table bed, a fold out sofa, and a fold out chair.

Over the last several years, I've seen people say they were able to get a roll-away bed at Pop Century but it seems to be very rare. I haven't seen anyone reporting that they requested and got on at AoA (but that doesn't mean they don't have them). I suspect they have a very limited number of roll-away beds...but it never hurts to ask.

If you want to be gauranteed an extra sleeping surface, I would recommend just taking a good air mattress along if you can (or have it shipped there ahead of time). We used an air mattress in a Lion King Suite in June and there is plenty of space for it. We stored it between the "kitchenette" and the sofa during the day so it wasn't taking up any floor space.

I'm staying at the little mermaid suites, do they have a golf car or something to transport my luggage, or am I supposed to drag it with me?

I really want to use the service they have where they take my luggage to my room, but I can't seem to trust it. I have little faith in it... >__< Has everyone here used it before?

Sorry if this is a repeat question... :worried:

Can I book a preferred room? Theming isn't too important to me, but I don't want to be so far away from the main building. I can't seem to find this when checking on the Disney site.

If these rooms are half as awesome as they look, we are in for a treat!

Any thoughts on this location for a Nov. 2014 visit (early in the month)?

Thank you!!

If you mean luggage delivery through Magical Express - we've used it 6 or 7 times and never had any problems. We take our 'park bag' in our carry-on and head right to the parks from check-in, and the cases have always been in the room when we got back in the evenings.
