Disney's ART OF ANIMATION RESORT Thread

From the middle of the Triton building, I timed it at 5 minutes. And it's an easy walk. But at the end of the night, that may be too much for people with kids. I don't know because I don't have kids.
When I stayed at All-Star Sports a few months ago, the walk seemed worse.

Thats where we were too and it was 5 minutes at least everytime with a child. Way too far in my opinion to run up for a quick drink or anything else. I often request preferred pool view as I like being close and part of the action.

To me 5 min is very close but they definitely should put more stations for the refillable mugs in each resort. I know some pool bars have a refillable station in other resorts...

Five minutes isn't far to me. But my 4 year old who stops at everything and is generally the worlds slowest child could very well make 5 minutes feel like 50! ;)

I agree that 5 minutes is very reasonable. When Ive stayed deluxe it took me longer than that to get to a station to refill my drink!

Sadly, the pool bar is across the way from the main building so that's not much use besides keeping wet guests out of the main building. It would be nice to see one at the Cars and Little Mermaid pools though for convenience. I remember that was a big point of discussion when the resort opened.

Hi all. We are leaving next week and I am beginning to think about packing. Are there life jackets provided at the big pool?

Yes - kids life jackets in various sizes are hanging on a rack near the laundry area/ping pong tables by the Big Blue Pool. Not sure about the 2 quiet pools since we never made it to those.

Just booked 4 days/3 nights at AOA for Disapaloosa!!!! Oh Yeah...........................

Doug :goofy:

Does anyone have favorite AoA trip reports and could provide links? (Also Pop, where the rest of our party will stay.) We first visited AoA in March and are headed there to stay in November - can't wait!

I can't wait for December 2015 to stay in the AOA and We take the family suite Cars! Also we take the special rate for Florida Resident Special!

Silly question here. Are there paper maps of the parks available in the lobby/ Animation hall? I'd really like to have one before going into the parks. Since you can't order them on line any more I'm hoping to pick them up when we check in.

This may seem like an odd question, but we're planning a 10 day trip and I need to plan my garden grocer order. Does anyone have a pic of the inside of a filled fridge in the suites? Thanks in advance :)

Not a silly question! Yes, there is a selection of park maps in the lobby. I like to get several clean copies each trip as souvenirs, so getting them from the resort is the best way to do that.

Where are the AOA bus pickup spots from the parks? We stayed at POP once and they were the furthest away at every single park!! #nightmare

We are staying at AoA for just one night next weekend. What is the fax number so that I can request an early check in? I already did online check in and asked that early check in be priority but I'd like to send the fax as well. Thanks in advance!

Also, I know they use a call center but is it worth it to call and ask that they make a note on the reservation?

I just read on Allears that the Nemo water play area will be closed 5/26 to 6/29...so bummed. My toddlers can't swim, so I thought this would be fun.

For what it's worth this is not listed on the TA refurbishment site. I am staying during that time period and really hope it's not down in June! That would be a huge bummer for us as well with a 1 year old.

June does seem like a bad time to close a water feature...
