Disney's Art of Animation Resort (Part II)

I don't mean to be critical, but I'm pretty sure that they announced that you must take towels with you from your room as no value resorts have towel service for their pools. Has anyone else heard about this?

.

That's why I was wondering about it in the first place, since I read it on another thread (about the Values), and figured I would ask here about AoA. I also read a tip somewhere on this board to bring your own towels from home so as not to confuse them with the rest of the towels 9since resort towels are all the same color).

Hello fellow AoA enthusiasts!
We have a booking for Sept and I would like to email the resort with a room request (based on medical grounds). Because we are from across the Pacific, phoning is not a great option, but does anyone know the email or fax number of the resort please?
We visited Pop a few years back and this is what I did then, but the details of AoA seem really difficult to find.
I would appreciate any help you can offer! Thanks! ::yes::

FN seems to be very popular later in the year. I feel bad for LK since I haven't seen much interest for it despite how pretty it looks

We were planning on LK originally, but the space is awkward, and no pool, just a splash pad.

I for one like that fact. Hopefully it means we have a better shot at getting our request of top floor/lake facing room at LK in Nov. At first I wanted FN but thought it might be loud/crowded with the big pool there. Didn't like the look or location of Cars. Once I saw the resort map LK was perfect. Between big and small pools and a quick short cut through the parking lot to the buses means you avoid going through the potentially crowded lobby every time.

Plus when my DS looked at the pictures with me he liked the look of LK best.

Hi,
I'm needing to ask a quick question for a friend who is booking within the hour or so. I'm sure the answer is somewhere, so I apologize for asking a question that's been answered before.

Friends looking to go end of September. Will there be any construction issues for them to consider if staying at AofA? They want a family suite.

Thanks so much,

Christy

The Little Mermaid rooms are the last to opne and scheduled for Sept 15...so she should be fine for the most part.

So I searched the thread but didn't see any convo on the FN kitchenettes.

I'm wondering if they come with any plates or utensils? :confused3

If not I'll probably make a quick stop at my Dollar Tree and pick up some plastic stuff to use during our trip for our quick breakfasts. :scratchin

(and probably a bunch of other stuff because "It's ONLY a $1" :rotfl2: )

Can you get towels and lifejackets (for children) at the pool? Or do you need to bring towels from the room?

This was answered above, but adding a little...you can expect children's lifejackets to be available at the pools. You should plan to bring towels from your room for the pools, although I have seen at Pop Century where, on occasion, a rack of extra towels is placed in the elevator area for people to use for the pool (or for any purpose I suppose). There is no supply of towels at value resort pools, however.

.....are we allowed to dine at AOA even though we're staying at Pop? We dine at other restaurants on property, so I'm thinking that dining at AOA would be okay :)

Disney will gladly take your dining money at either Pop or AoA. ;)

Yes, the suites have paper plates and plastic utensils stocked in the room. Read this Disney Food Blog entry for a detailed report on the kitchenette.

Thanks!! A few less things to pack!

But now no excuse to visit the Dollar Tree
:rotfl2:

May be an odd question, but where do you enter the buildings? We will be in a Finding Nemo suite and I would like to know if you enter the building on the ends, the middle, or both?

TIA!

There were entrances in the middle and the ends, if I remember correctly. I know there was an entrance at the end behind the Seagulls and I believe in the middle behind Mr. Ray and Crush

Paper plates and plastic utensils? Nice to see Disney being environmentally friendly! :(

No offense but what would you rather have? Dirty dishes sitting on the counter waiting for the cleaning services to take them or you having to take them to the food court or throw away plates you can throw away right in your room?

I agree - I think here it is a matter of practicality.

I'd take the reusables any day no matter what.
