Another issue would be my DD5 who is a picky eater. I can't really see anything on the kids menu that she would like. No simple sandwiches...no hotdogs...:-(

I see some of the usual suspects that my kids will eat - pizza, Mac and cheese, chicken platter. Also some of the take away stuff will work for my kids. Plus we usually only do food court for breakfast and snacks.
What type of stuff will your DD eat?

I am so confused! Don't know what to do.
We were originally booked to stay at the POP, but I changed the reservation to AoA.
I'm still excited to stay there, but the distance from the LM rooms to the bus stops might make me change the reservation back to POP.

My son is a very picky eater. We've eaten at the food court at AoA twice. He got pizza each time. He usually doesn't like seasoned fries, but he liked them. Each time we got the pesto cheese bread. The first time he loved it. The 2nd time we ate there, the bread was mostly green on top from the pesto and he said it was "too spicey". He liked the pizza each time.

The buildings at AoA are set up pretty much like the buildings at Pop Century. Being in the LM section should be like being in the 50's section, if I am thinking correctly.

Look at it this way. The walk shouldn't really be that long as you and your DD will probably be like us, enjoying the sights walking thru the Lion King section. There will be so many things to see and photo-ops in LK and LM (plus your little girl will probably love the playground in LK) that the walk won't seem far at all. As for the food, we eat most of our meals in the parks. Don't forget that there is a pool bar at the main pool and it probably has some 'snack type' foods like hot dogs and such. You're probably going to love staying at the AoA! It's not often that you get to stay in a brand new resort!:thumbsup2

Whats bothering me the most is wondering how it'll be when all the sections are open. How packed the food court will be and the buses. We usually stay at Pop so if its the same i would love to stay at AOA but if its way busier then i wouldn't since we are just a family of 3

Each time we've stayed at Pop it has been booked solid. Pop is almost always fully booked, so I wouldn't worry about crowds. When AoA is full it will feel the same as Pop almost always does, except for the food court. I agree that that style of food service may be too "slow" for a large crowd.
Of course everyone doesn't eat at the same time. I'm personally looking forward to the food court and I almost never eat at the resort. I will this time because of the wonderful selection. Food which is being prepared "on the spot" right now, may not be in December! If the food is too "exotic" some people will walk over to Pop to eat (but I think Flavours has all of the same usual kids foods)

Quick pop in as I wait for everyone to get ready.

Here and we LOVE it! The resort is adorable. The pool is so fun with that underwater music. They have not been checking IDs though. It is pretty crowded with just the two sections open. Might be tight with them all.

Food court is yummy. I had the surf and surf last night yummy crab cake. Tons of seating.

Rooms are nice and big. Some strange things though, the master bathroom has some sensor that turns on the fan when you step in. And the toilet flush! Yikes it's that super flush kind of toilet I think I'll get flushed out to sea!

But really we give it the thumbs up. Cms are all top notch! Friendly, fun sweet. Get excited if you are coming you are going to LOVE it!

Off to Soarin!

This is just what I needed to read this morning! We are a family of 3 taking advantage of the suites to give us and our teen our own space and bathrooms, which is invaluable. It was actually how I got dh to agree to another trip to WDW, as he would prefer to be done. I know, but he has a lot of other great qualities and I love him ;)

I am excited for the food court selections, the decorated rooms, the fabulous zero entry pool, even the playground that we won't use other than for photo ops. I'm not concerned about buses, or crowds, I'm focused on all the fun we are going to have, and enjoying this new resort! I know we will have a fabulous time, so we will!

I just read an article about AoA recently and it said that the occupancy at AoA is actually lower due to the larger rooms so it should be a little less crowded than Pop. :goodvibes

We had breakfast at Art of Animation again this morning, so I got some more pictures to share, if you are interested. Sorry to say that I have not read all the pages of this thread, so if these are repeats, as I am sure some are, I apologize. Hopefully, there will some you have not seen.

I started taking pictures as we were leaving. For informational purposes, I got a few shots of the condiment/drink area.

We are currently booked AoA LM room Nov 26-Dec 5. I looked again and it's SOLD OUT for those dates now :scared1: I was hoping when FD opens to the public, we can add FD to our reservation... Now, I'm assuming there will be no avail. at FD

I checked again with my FD PIN and right now there is no more FD availability in LM for a Nov 26 arrival... :sad1:

You're right that the AoA and Pop building layouts are pretty much the same, but the comparison is between LM and the 80's/90's section.

It goes like:
50's ~ Cars
60's ~ Nemo
70's ~ Lion King
80's/90's ~ Little Mermaid

I thought Sept. was fall. :confused3 Do you mean Oct on? Have the general FD promotions begun for those dates?

Another poster has insider info and list the dates for the GP FD for the fall and it will exclude LM rooms

The pictures are wonderful, thank you for sharing. The fences were still up around the Cars section when we were there in June, but we will be staying there in Aug/Sept.

Once again thank you for the pictures Memom!!! I can't WAIT to get there!! I love the Cars area!!!

Oh, my mercy!! I am so excited!!! My documents are in the mail to me so I should get them on Thursday...it's been a long wait but, now that it's here, it wasn't such a long wait at all:) The 4 of us are counting down the days, 33 left. Thanks for the great reviews and pictures...

Will you please let me know if you can, the dates that the insider information might have? We have a LM booked for October and were hoping for FD! Thanks!
