Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel

I read through some of this thread but not all-does anyone know if AoA will definitely be sharing a bus with Pop? :headache:

Thanks for the link to the pictures :thumbsup2

I can't wait to stay here! We have a room booked at POP, but I was hoping the Little Mermaid rooms would be available by our September 2012 trip..looks like that won't happen, oh well! (Just means I'll have to do another in 2013 when all of AoA is open, AND Fantasyland is done! :thumbsup2 )

Since there was so much speculation as to whether or not AoA would share buses with Pop, I decided to pose the question to the Disney Mom's Panel and see what they said. Here's my question and the response posted on their site:

Will the Art of Animation Resort share a bus system with Pop Century? Also, will be bus stops at the Art of Animation Resort be covered. It would be so nice to have a cover from the Florida elements.

Hey, Lisa! That level of detail regarding the bus system for Disney's Art of Animation Resort isn't available yet. It's possible that it will share a bus system at times with Pop Century; however, Pop Century certainly fills up its own line of busses most times during the day. I'd expect Disney to monitor volumes and direct the busses accordingly. Perhaps that means more busses more often serving both resorts. Perhaps that means its own bus service for Art of Animation.

I have a high level of certainty that the bus waiting area will be covered like it is at many of the resorts, including Pop Century (there are big awnings right behind the areas where you queue up and wait for the busses at Pop Century.)

Thank you for being so pro-active in seeking information. I truly appreciate it.

I was so happy to see that they had opened booking for this resort, but so sad when I called and was told the regular rooms were already booked for next August (2012). Now that I have found my way here to read, I see that section isn't ready to open in that time frame.

I didn't get to read all the posts, so I'm sorry if this has been beat to death, but does anyone know if the bridge is expected to be open from POP? I am going to stay at POP next August, and we would LOVE to walk over there to check out the great themes - my DD really wants to stay in the Cars section, but with 1 adult and 2 kids it doesn't make financial sense.

Thanks everyone for all the great info and the pictures!!

I'm trying to decide if it's worth to stay at the resort to. It's either this or 2 rooms at ASMo. I guess we will see in the next couple of months. I keep trying to get a quote online and it won't even bring a price up for AoA.

My rates were 345 for weekday and 395 weekend for the first weeks in June for the suites.

You could use those to figure out your approximate budget.

Those rates are way too high for me to pay Disney. I can get much more for half the cost.

I really don't know what Disney is thinking sometimes. But we'll see. People might pay more for less just to stay there.

As you can see by my sig, we have stayed delux the last few times. These prices are in line with what we would pay for courtyard at WL but with much more room to spread out. We were very disappointed with the room conditions last time (worn out looking) and are hoping to avoid that by being among the first to stay in this room.

I was hoping to stay here for one night after our Fantasy Cruise but that would be Dec. 8. Hoping Little Mermaid will be open then, because not sure I want to spend $295 on a suite for the three of us. I'll have to see what they'll let me book when I can call.

I am wondering this too....:confused3

Can anyone pull AoA up on Disneywold.com? I'm trying to price it out but it keeps saying they are experiencing technical difficulties.

TIA

Was just on disney.com and you can reserve rooms now at AoA! YAY! :goodvibes
However... I was under the impression that the cost would be about the same as ASMU family suites... nope... :confused3

for 8/4/12-8/12/12 (8 nights/9 days) for 3 adults, 2 childrens (one is a "junior/disney adult") the prices are quite different.

At AoA in the Nemo Family Suite (Cars is the same price) with 8 day water park non-hopper passes= $4215.49

exact same options but at ASMU Family Suites= $3774.37

Thats a $441.12 difference in price.:scared1: Not a big deal to some, definitely a big deal to others. I know I would rather spend that $441 elsewhere in Disney... but thats just me.
Just thought I would give a heads up.......still looks like an awesome resort hotel, but its a good-sized difference in price IMHO
