I just picked our suite and then just told the 2 18 year olds last Sunday:) But, I guess the decision for you is harder. But, I like the idea as to make your reservation and see where they will put you. For sure in one of the suites..Good luck and please tell us what you decide Thank you

I have AoA LM booked for Sept 29 - Oct 9. I was already worried about crowds and the distance LM is... And now after seeing a bunch of videos from the FN visitors, I am feeling disappointed in the whole resort. The splash pad area is kind of a joke, and reminds me of the fountains from DD, minus the characters. The FN playground area looks like it was built for 1-2 year olds.

At this point, I think I will be talking to my TA about switching resorts tomorrow.

Anyone else feel similar after the opening?

Not me! FYI We are 4 adults and immensely excited. Every pic and video fuels the enthusiasm and I am sooo glad we are staying in LM so all the areas will be open when we arrive.

Um yes, I am totally serious and sincere. I do not "troll" like some and if I have a question or input, it's genuine.

I just feel really let down... I love the huge characters in the courtyards, and the theming... I was expecting much more I guess. And like I said, some of the things that are there seem like they are more for decoration than use... Again, just my opinion and was wondering if anyone else felt the same? I was so super excited to stay here, now don't really want to...

Just out of curiosity...what resort are you thinking about changing to?

checked your previous posts and it looks like you are sincere, sorry you feel that way.

Btw.. If you looked up my posts and felt I was sincere, then why keep the trolling comment? Just because I have a difference of opinion, doesn't mean someone is trolling.

Aww. Well, that really is sad that you're disappointed. From what I am reading, people who have been there say the pics don't do it justice. I understand your concern about paying to stay there and not being happy. I am still on the fence over MNSSHP this year because last year was a letdown due to overcrowding. Hope you come to a happy decision.:thumbsup2

Since POPping next door will be so easy, I thought I would share this scrumptious tidbit from the cupcake thread. The NEW Elvis cupcake. Chocolate cupcake filled with banana custard, peanut butter icing topped with candied bacon and drizzled with chocolate. Available at Pop Century!

:worship: oh my word!! sounds SO good!!!!

I had to double check to see if I had written this and forgotten about it!! This is exactly us (although, 2 of the 4 adults still think we are staying at POP ;))

Winue, I'm sorry that you are feeling let down. That is never good. You should do what you think you will be happiest with, but honestly, I don't think you can go wrong either way! Good luck with whatever you decide!

Hi all, just wanted to update on the LOF. When you order, yes, it will take a very long time to get your food. I think this will be a huge issue for many people. The pastrami burger was overdone and the pastrami was burnt. Had grilled fish, wait time was 20 minutes. Suggestion may be to split up your party and each go to the food station of your choice all at once. I hope the wait time improves as the tweak the cooking process.

You know, I wondered looking at some of those menu items how they were going to make things in a timely fashion. The whole reason "fast food" got it's name is because it was things that could be made quickly without much effort to feed the masses.
I applaud the switch to a healthy menu, but some of those items are going to require careful prep and cooking and can't be thrown in a fryer. I imagine it's going to be a learning curve for the employees.
I think you are right in that they will find their groove once everything gets more established.
And while I wouldn't mind waiting 20 minutes, I like to eat with my family, not before or after they get their food. I hope it evens out a bit.

Certainly not; we're not disappointed at all. We're all adults going and the more we see the more excited we are. We're going to be in LM, but the distance doesn't look far to us and two of us have physical disabilities. Kids love any kind of splash pad. The Nemo pad with the characters is the cutest one I've ever seen; I think the kids will love it. The Nemo playground isn't filled with many features in just having two slides and a tunnel, but the big thing in playgrounds right now are climbing walls and there have already been kids as old as ten using the corals on the outside of the play unit as climbers to scale the playground pod. Also, there is a bigger playground coming to the Lion King section. You have to do what is right for you. If you think you'll be happier at POR, then by all means go there. You're going to WDW; it's important that you have a good time and that includes enjoying the resort you stay at. :thumbsup2

I didn't think of it that way before, Marblies, but you're so right. When we get there we can explore and enjoy everything all four sections have to offer. Just think of all of the photo-ops we're going to have. I'm going to have so much fun just taking photos of all of the characters and courtyard scenes that I just hope I don't wear my new camera batteries out! BTW, what does 'trolling' mean?

I'm anxious to try their food and hopefully by the time we go down in Nov. they will have some of the kinks worked out. If not we'll just have to be patient like with anything else new that has to be broken in.

Does AoA offer wifi and are there any reports of how it is? Yes but it is a mix of good and bad.

Do the windows open in the rooms? Apparently not according Someone a while back

How is the sound in the rooms? Are there any noise issues? Decent, better than most values as you only share 2walls rather than 3 and they are inside halls.

Hope that helps

We just got back from AOA on Saturday night.

I can tell you the windows do not open. As far as the sounds go we were right by a door and we could hear a lot of foot traffic. It didn't bother my kids at all. We were not by the pool though so I can't comment on that but it didn't seem to be the quietest. Although I was really disappointed in the fact that I couldn't get cell service while in my room. I have AT&T btw. As soon as I stepped out of the room it was fine. The wifi worked most of the time. We did have to call once and they connected us to the network call center who said they were getting lots of calls throughout the parks and they were having someone look at it. It started working about 30 minutes later.

Let me know if you have any other questions. I was very excited that the fridges had little freezers in them and that the silverware and plates were in the rooms.

We are already planning on going back and my DH doesn't want to stay anywhere else unless they have the suite style setup.

SUPER excited to check out the resort. We are staying at OKW from September 26 through October 5 and we are going to AOA for lunch on our eight year wedding anniversary! We dont mind the wait for the food, just excited to see around the beautiful resort!

Winue.....how interesting that you are thinking of changing from AOA to POR.....we have just changed our POR reservations to AOA cars section!!! ha! ha! :rotfl2: I think I was attracted by the colours, the fun and the great themeing.........hope you have a great trip!

By the way, what is 'trolling'??? Sorry if it is obvious!!!
debsx:hug:

Great report!! I feel like the cell reception is a running issue at all resorts. We were at POR in March and had no cell reception in our room most of the time. My DH even had to call the resort and have them ring our room because when he called my phone it went straight to voice mail due to no reception. :sad2:
