Bute,
Request a coffee maker at the front desk, AFTER you get your room requests all out of the way if you have any. They will send a coffee maker up, with a starter packet of coffee. Any extra you can buy Mara or Zawadi market place. You might be able to request extra from housekeeping, but I know there is a charge for it. I am not sure which as I always take extra coffee with me. I permanantly store extras in my suitcase for when we need them at hotels which don't have extras out. No, I don't know why they do it this way, but I didn't let it ruin my trip as the atmosphere more than made up for lack of extra coffee!

#1hockeymom,
Thanks for the info. It seems as if every resort does their own thing with the details. We are so looking forward to the AKl, have never stayed there before. June can't come soon enough.

Earlier in this thread there is mention of no pool hopping allowed on the Disney properties unless you are a guest of AKL or BC/YC. Am I to understand that if we stay at AKL we can go to Stormalong Bay pool at BC/YC? Thanks for your help!!

Pool hopping is not allowed at WDW. This does not mean that people do not try and do manage to pool hop.

Disney Vacation Club (DVC) members staying on DVC points at WDW resorts are allowed to pool hop BUT cannot pool hop to AKL or YC/BC/BCV.

To use the pools at those resorts, you must be staying at those resorts.

thanks

Wine is served during the 5pm serving and cordials are served during the 8pm serving at the AKL.

Many posters have reported that you may ask the cm's in the lounge for beer, they keep it but you have to ask - I believe they usually have several brands, not a huge selection. HTH!:wave2:

I had a moroccon(sp?) beer last time from the lounge.
If you like beer definately ask to see what they have.

Thanks for the info.
Anyone have any idea the cost to upgrade at check in, to concierge?
Or should I just bite the bullet and upgrade now?
Going June 7 for 7 nights.
Thanks, YO

Ok can anyone tell me if concierge rooms at AKL have the small fridges in them? We got something from concierge which listed items and prices (soda, alcohol etc) so I didn't know if that was for the mini bar or if they bought it and stocked your fridge? We might stop at a grocery store and buy small bottles of water for the parks but don't want to do that without a fridge to keep them cold

Yes! The CL rooms at AKL NOW have complimentary fridges in them!
And, since they no longer offer bottled water, stock up on those when you do your grocery stop.

Just returned from staying CL at AKL, and I made a remark about room having a fridge and the CM told me that all the CL rooms now have the comp fridge in them.

Have a great time!

The concierge rooms are all on the fifth and sixth floors. The lounge is located on the sixth floor along with a handful of the concierge rooms. Most of the sixth floor rooms have slightly obstructed views because of the roof, so I would suggest getting one on the fifth. Not quite sure about the placement of the one or two bedroom suites.

This is so great reading this post. Condorman do you know that if you stay on the 5th floor is it actually considered concierge level to all guests or is it some of the guests?

The entire 5th floor is not for concierge guests only. All the rooms on the 5th floor are deluxe rooms. We stayed in a deluxe room on the 5th floor last year but we were not concierge. :)

Is there food available at Victoria Falls? We would like to have a late evening drink and perhaps some appetizers. :)

Hi Dana49 ~

I couldn't remember if I saw anyone eating there at Victoria Falls lounge last summer when we walked through to look at it. (we were on our way to Boma) So, I went to the Allears site and went to their menu listings -- sorry, but it looks like just a lounge for drinks. Deb's site doesn't have a menu for it.
