Just booked AKL for our 20th anniversary trip!:lovestruc
We've never stayed deluxe since we have four children and normally need two rooms. I took oldest DD on a mommy and me trip in 2014, and we went over to AKL after being at AK for the day. We had a wonderful dinner, and I decided right then that I had to stay there one day!

thats a Standard view room!? thats awesome! does your room have a bunk bed??

We were in rm 3302, halfway down Kudu Trail, Lobby Level, First room on left after the "L" wing. We were dead on view to the Kidani Village Overlook so there were many animals. There were many people at Kidani enjoying the animals at their overlook and we could see the fire pit going at night. The rooms in the even numbered 33 section had this view. Further down from us, towards the end of the hall was the people pen. On our balcony, direct left, were all the rooms on th "L", center was Kidani Village and right view was a watering hole and far right the People Pen. No Bunk Bed, we booked a standard and our only request was Kudu Trail. We were lucky to be only halfway down and lobby level I thought but would have walked and loved it as well. I have pictures of our room and view that I can post later. The odd number rooms in the 33 section look out on the Arusha Savannah (I think that's right) and have great views. I'm guessing none of those are standard. I believe ours was considered standard because we looked directly on the rooms on the "L". We didn't care, no one was ever on their balconies shockingly.

Thanks for the links......
Can anybody tell me if the pool is fenced in yet?

No fence as of yesterday. We really enjoyed the large, beautiful pool and hot tubs. Our son loved the slide and hot tub for his aching feet (poor thing). The movies by the pool were great. There were a few rooms that could have watched the movie from their balcony.

We leave in 9 days. Your pics are making me more excited! Thanks for sharing. :)

We had a really great time. The AKL is just beyond description or the pictures we saw and read. I loved our Kudu Trail room because we walked through the the lobby everyday to Mara or the buses. That was a real plus for us. We always saw something new or stopped to talk to someone or enjoy an activity. The views from all over the hotel were just fantastic.

We leave tomorrow and are so excited!!! What did you request when you did your online check in (I may have missed this if you already mentioned it)

Our only request was Kudu Trail knowing we could be at the end. I did not request anything else because it's all we wanted. We ended up lobby level, halfway down in a really great room that had a left view completely blocked by the "L" wing of rooms. This had no impact as our view straight on was full of zebra, giraffe, and many other animals. We were in rm 3302.

I'm wondering....when is too soon to call concierge with room requests? We're arriving 9/24/16 and want to request a room with a king bed on the 3rd floor. Will they tell me that now is too soon?

Can anyone tell me what is the most budget friendly room type we can get for a family of 5? We want Savannah view and club level.
Do we need to get two standard rooms or a 1 bedroom? Just trying to see what will be the cheapest for us. This is the first time my youngest will be out of pack and play stage, and we need a room that fits 5.
Thanks so much!

It's been since 2014 that we have stayed at AKL but my DD wants to stay here for her last trip before she's off to college... We booked CL but I just realized the lounge isn't on the same floor as the rooms

Our first stay ever in 14 days! I can't believe it! Combing this thread to see what else I have missed. I don't know what I don't know!

Quick pool question. I know that AKL is "broken up" into two "resorts". Jambo house and Kidani Village.... Does it work like at WL or POR where if you stay at one you can hang/swim at the other one? Or is it like BLT where if you are staying at the CR you can't use the BLT pool or totw lounge?

It's like WL or POR -- no worries! ;)

OK, first -- your DD is heading to college already??!!!

Yes, the Club Lounge is on 6; your room will be on 4 -- but it's not as inconvenient as it sounds! ;) I predict you will love the entire experience! :goodvibes

;)
