I was told it was discontinued. Not sure what that means, but that's what I was told. Maybe all savannah rooms are going to be lumped together as one category, or the arusha rooms are going to be club level only. I'd be interested in the answer to this, since we stay at AKL frequently.
We are in the same boat, I called and got the same reply. The only thing is if you stay on the 4th floor you may heat it above you. I guess if you get there and hear the construction you can demand to be moved, and reply with the message you received. I am fine if they stick to the 9 to 5 schedule they gave us in the letter, but if it's different then you better believe I will complain. This is the exact reason we didn't pick poly. Please help me, AKL experts!
We are booked in a pool-view room, arriving next weekend. Yesterday I got an email from AKL telling me about the refurb, and I immediately called Disney, who reassured me that the refurb was in an "isolated" area of the resort and would not have any affect at all on where we're staying.
Yet someone posted in another thread that they were also booked in a pool-view room and they were told by Disney that the area they're in would possibly be affected by the refurb. Uh . . . we're booked in the exact same area.
Ack! Which is it? I have no desire to go on vacation and have to deal with the sounds of hammers, electric staplers, and saws, etc. We use the resort--even during the day--and I want a place to relax, not a place to run away from because of the noise level.
Thanks for any help you can give me.
....3rd floor is the Lobby floor, so it's perfect!I'll give everyone a report after our trip this weekend. We have a standard room and requested an area on the 3rd floor. We'll see.
...please realize that a pool-view room could be in either Zebra Trail OR Giraffe Trail, so if you are in one and the construction is going on in the other, obviously you shouldn't be affected by the noise. That being said, it has been my experience that construction usaully takes place between 9 and 5 so it shouldn't affect you...Please help me, AKL experts!

Hi all!
We leave in 4 days and are staying club level. Does anyone know the email address for club level? I've had a hard time reaching them and thought I'd email. The email address I got from another thread is being returned as invalid.
TIA!
Thanks, I'll try thatHere's the one I have (eliminate the spaces before sending): animal. kingdom. lodge. itinerary .planning @ disneyworld .com

....unfortunately, no. Imagine getting beignets at the Contemporary, or Tonga Toast at CSR. Kinda doesn't work, does it?Can zebra domes be found anywhere else on WDW property other than AKL? I've had them at Boma and at the QS location in AKL, but I was wondering if anywhere else sells them.
I concur! AKL is my favorite deluxe. I was happy with the bus transportation and the feeling of the resort that it is away from the noise and stress of the parks. It gives you that "ahhhhh" feeling when you arrive like you are at some luxurious exotic location. Love not sharing busses w/ other resorts like the Epcot hotels and others. The buses at AKL are shared between Kidani and Jambo with Kidani being the first stop. In December, they had dedicated bus service to the parks for each location so they were separate. This made it SO much nicer. The bus home at night was packed as usual and still shared, but I think they are all packed at night. I was very happy with our bus experience this past trip.
