Hi! What would you do - we'll be arriving at AKL on 1/5 around 12:30pm (after a 6am flight) with dd5 and ds3. This will be our very first Disney trip and we'll be staying for 7 night. On arrival day Would you stay at AKL and explore until our room is ready then have dinner at Boma, or check in at AKL and take a bus to AK and maybe Tusker House for dinner? I have been weighing these two options but figured I'd ask the AKL pros for some advice. TIA!

Will everyone need naps or do you think they'll sleep on the plane? I think there's a fair chance your room will be ready, and there are lots of things to do at the resort, including a playground near the pool area if you need to sort of tire the kiddos out to keep them on a normal schedule. That being said, I'm always SO EXCITED when I arrive that I beeline to a park and figure I'll catch up on sleep later. I'd probably not make an ADR that day and play it by ear based on the moods of the whole family. I've had good luck with the AKL restaurants and day-of ADRs. Just one opinion!

Could you add us to the list for January :D Staying the 4-9 at Kidani in a 2bdr standard. One of the resorts on my bucket list <3

Our first stay at AK dec 11 2015
Killing a day between DCL cruises
Decided we should try out a different resort this time. Seeing as bay lake towers were sold out of studio rooms.

We are at kidani?
Savanna room...with sunset Savannah request

So excited ...as are only plans are MVMCP
Also our first time attended the Christmas party.

Thanks for everyone here and the forum moderator

Can someone please tell me what kind of grab and go breakfast options are available at Johari Treasures at Kidani Village? I know that you can refill your mugs there, but curious what one can grab for breakfast.

For anyone who is staying CL and isn't sure if they are supposed to contact IPO, we received our welcome email from AKL-IPO this past Thursday, which was our 190 day mark. The email included a 9-page file to fill out your contact information, flight information and different requests for things to be booked on your behalf.

Hi all,
We are booked for 20 th October 2016 for 11 nights club. When I booked it was my husband, I and 2 youngest children( 8 and 3). Our eldest son is at university (21) and initially said he wouldn't be able to come. However, he is now suggesting he might!!
What are my opinions on rooms?
Can I add another adult to our current room?( it would be very squashed)
Get him a second room( doubles the cost) do 1 beds tend to work out cheaper than 2 rooms? Any suggestions would be great. Ruth

Just back from a three night stay at Jambo House. We checked in Thursday to a DVC Studio on club level for one night before moving to the Grand Villa. The Studio was fine although a little small for 4 adults but it served its purpose. The view on the other hand was horrendous as others have stated in the past. It was like a partial pool view with roof view. Definitely not a big deal though since we were only there one night.

Club level on the other hand was so-so. I've only ever stayed at Wilderness Lodge CL but much preferred that one over AKLs. The club at AKL always felt extremely busy and the staff was less than pleasurable. They never went out of their way to ask if we needed something and basically just stood around shooting dirty looks. One thing that was kind of annoying and I've seen it mentioned on other cub level threads was the fact that you had to ask for beer.

The Grand Villa on the other hand was amazing! We has room 5564 which was on the Zebra Trail. Definitely a hike to the lobby but not a big deal at all. Four full bathrooms was amazing in the mornings and at night before we all went out. Busses were hit or miss and a few times we just took a taxi to where we needed to get.

Thank you for the review, I always wondered about the DVC views and that would be a deal breaker for me.
