10 days for us! Woot woot

Hi! What would you do - we'll be arriving at AKL on 1/5 around 12:30pm (after a 6am flight) with dd5 and ds3. This will be our very first Disney trip and we'll be staying for 7 night. On arrival day Would you stay at AKL and explore until our room is ready then have dinner at Boma, or check in at AKL and take a bus to AK and maybe Tusker House for dinner? I have been weighing these two options but figured I'd ask the AKL pros for some advice. TIA!
That's a good upgrade, congrats and enjoy!jumping in - we are going to Disney for our 25th wedding anniversary and DD's 16th birthday (yes, she was born on our 9th wedding anniversary!) Secretly upgraded us last night from AS Music to AKL - DH and DD are going to be so surprised. I'm so excited! We have always wanted to stay at AKL!!! Looking forward to reading more of this thread

From what I remember , there are muffins, and bacon egg and cheese sandwiches. There are the usual varieties of those breakfast sandwiches. (Plain, cheese, sausage). Coffee, tea, etc are also available.breakfast
OctoberWe will be there Oct. 25-30.
Just back from a three night stay at Jambo House. We checked in Thursday to a DVC Studio on club level for one night before moving to the Grand Villa. The Studio was fine although a little small for 4 adults but it served its purpose. The view on the other hand was horrendous as others have stated in the past. It was like a partial pool view with roof view. Definitely not a big deal though since we were only there one night.
Club level on the other hand was so-so. I've only ever stayed at Wilderness Lodge CL but much preferred that one over AKLs. The club at AKL always felt extremely busy and the staff was less than pleasurable. They never went out of their way to ask if we needed something and basically just stood around shooting dirty looks. One thing that was kind of annoying and I've seen it mentioned on other cub level threads was the fact that you had to ask for beer.
The Grand Villa on the other hand was amazing! We has room 5564 which was on the Zebra Trail. Definitely a hike to the lobby but not a big deal at all. Four full bathrooms was amazing in the mornings and at night before we all went out. Busses were hit or miss and a few times we just took a taxi to where we needed to get.
NovemberGoing to be there Nov. 12-16
