Sample Kidani view. There weren't always this many animals out at once, this was party time!

We have a savannah view, bunk bed room.

Are these located on a particular floor or in a particular part of the lodge?

We arrive tomorrow (!!) and I need to check-in/put in a room request if it's not too late. Still weighing my options re: request, but I didn't know if the room type already put some constraints on the request.

However, I was told by the agent that I can request this upon check-in(in person) as well as through member services. I usually do not do online check-in. I had just planned to show up early that morning, probably 10-11am and request the 2nd floor. Would that work or am I better off doing online check-in?

I've read that the rooms are assigned about 3 days before check in. With regular savanna view at Jambo you'll have Uzima or Sunset savanna - both lovely.

I've not stayed at Kidani, but would personally prefer the 18 acre Sunset savanna view w/ giraffes, several zebras and assorted other animals over the 6 acre Pembe savanna view w/ Okapi & zebras.

Yeah, I left that out, sndral is right, you want to request Sunset Savanna at Kidani! Rooms are assigned 3-4 days before check-in, so it helps to make the request in advance if possible. Then at check-in if you don't get your request, I would ask again if it's possible to switch. Even if the room isn't ready yet at check-in, you can ask for the "room area/location" to see if your requests are met. Good luck!

Closest supermarket to AKL?? I get in during the evening hours and I want to grab a couple of goodies on my way.

....I don't know if you will have a car or not, but when you leave AKL and hit the first light, turn right onto Sherberth Road. That will take you to 192, Irlo Bronson Hwy. Make a right onto 192 and go to the Publix, which is on the right....I believe it might be called Four Corners(?) I know it's across from a Super Target.

We are booked May 3-8 and it will be our first time at AKL. Staying at this resort has been a dream of mine and I'm so excited to finally be able to stay and experience it!

....prepare to be AMAZED!

We just checked in! AKV value studio and we lucked out with a savannah view! We landed at 3:20 and arrived at our resort at 4:25...first stop on ME. Headed to DTD now to watch the Colts hopefully beat the Pats!

WOW, that's great, I was wondering how many stops before AKL on ME, I know it can change, but at least there's hope! Did you book a standard and get upgraded?

Oh, and how bad is the floor re-furb? We arrive in a few weeks and hope to get good pictures of the lobby...

We have a value studio so that can either be parking lot, pool, or savannah. We were on the bus with Pop and AoA folks but we were first. I would say about 30% of the lobby was walled off. Definitely noticeable but not awful.

I would assume that's where we are. We saw a couple giraffes this afternoon. I will take it for $118/night!

Tinker, I asked this question last week in another thread dedicated to Club/Concierge rooms. I have been told that all Club rooms (even Standard - Club Level) at AKL have Savannah views. Note: not talking about the DVC villas, I don't know how that works.

I'll read back in the thread, but you guys are saying the lobby is under construction and walled off? I'll be there next month.
