Can anyone tell me about the balcony on a standard view 2 bedroom villa at Kidani? More specifically how many doors and where they are located in the villa to get outside? Also the main room pull out, how comfy is that for a 9 night stay for an adult? And lastly, is there a way to ask for pool view anymore since it's not on the online check in?

That may not be a category on Kidani side anymore (they rearranged them over the summer for backstage members). You could request to be closest to the pool. There are 2 doors to the balaconies and fold out sofas are not very comfortable unfortunately. The FD can send you some extra bedding to help pad it out. I recommend putting a child or a not as picky adult on it.

Yay!!! I'm so excited... we have decided to tack on 3 more days to our Christmas vacation and stay at AKL (doing a split stay, coming from Beach Club). We will be at AKL Dec. 6-9. :-) We are so excited because we consider this resort our "home".

Am I understanding correctly that there are some standard rooms with bunk beds? Anyone know if there is a standard bunk bed room that also has a partial Savannah view?

DD thinks we are still staying at CSR (we just switched this week - so excited!!) and she so very much wants to stay at AKL in a bunk bed. I think we will hold off telling her about the switch so it is a surprise - and getting a bunk bed would be icing on the cake!

We are doing the very same my DD thinks we are staying at POR but we upgraded in January. Its been so difficult to keep it a secret! We'd also love a bunk bed room as we have a 3 year old DS too. When do you go? We arrive Nov 26th,

Can you add us to the list too! We are so excited to stay as well! Staying March 17-25! My kids are super excited to be staying here. They can't wait to see all the animals and everything...especially the giraffes, lol. My 3yr old LOVES giraffes, so he is going to be thrilled to be staying at a hotel where he can see giraffes whenever he wants to, lol. Quick question though...what type of activities do they offer during the day? On our arrival day we are just planning to hang at the resort. We should get into Disney around 1 or 2 PM (we are driving in from SC), we are gonna stop at AK before going to our hotel just to get my son's DAS in order and then we are planning to head to the hotel and chill for the rest of the afternoon. I am not sure if the kids will be up for swimming after a long day and we are planning on getting an ADR for Sanaa for around 5:30 so not sure if there will be enough time for a swim anyways. So what other types of activities do they offer? I know they have the animal viewing at night and they do a campfire at night but do they do any cool things during the day for the kids?

We did something like this as well, staying at CSR, then moving for the last few nts to AKL, where DD, animal lover and future vet(now 13 and still the plan so far!) always wanted to stay. We surprised the kids by heading to Boma for dinner, then checking in - so hard to keep it a secret, but so worth it! While we still love CSR, would always want to stay here if we had the $$$!:simba: Enjoy the surprise and resort!

In 1 week we will be checking in at AKL!!!! We decided to upgrade from POR to AKL a couple weeks ago! We have never stayed here before so we are super excited!

You will love it! So beautiful in the lodge and watching the animals is just amazing - we didn't want to leave to go to the parks! Enjoy!

We arrive 11/26 as well. We were planning to head to AKL for dinner and seeing the Christmas tree that evening anyway, so she knows we will visit. We watched a video of AKL this weekend and she kept asking if we could stay there next time... can't wait to surprise her and stay there this time!!

Yay!! I'm so excited to finally post on this thread!!! I just got word that our waitlist request came thru!!! we'll be staying CL 1 bdrm from March 10-12! This is our first ever CL stay AND our first time staying at AKL!!!! I'm so excited!!

Due to work commitments, I have had to cancel my family's 2 week vacation at the Beach Club in October 2017. On the plus side, I have managed to book 3 weeks in AKL starting May 27th 2017 !! Delighted. Its obviously a long time to stay at the one hotel but we are pretty much tied in with a free dining package from the UK. As its 3 weeks its quite important that I try to get the best room possible for my category. As its myself and my wife along with our 15 year old daughter and 2 year old son we really need a room with bunk beds. Its also just a standard room category I was able to book. I am new to Touring Plans but I think I have managed to locate the absolute dream room for our category and our needs. At what point do you ask Touring Plans to notify AKL of the request ? Is it to early at this stage for a May 2017 arrival ? Any other tips woule be apprecaited. As I say, bunks are almost essential for the kids but any sort of view other than a car park would be fantastic. Thanks folks.
