Is there an exit to the pool by the elevator that is near the laundry room on Zebra Trail?
Yep, I do believe that there is an elevator that comes down to the Ground Level where the Simba club is, & you just walk out those doors to the pool area...

There was also one on the Giraffe trail which was sooo convenient for us when we stayed on that side..FWIW, I'd much rather be on that side , because of that elevator alone...It was a breeze using that one to get to the buses & also returning from the parks as well...No extra Wasted steps needed..

Don't be too concerned Jazzylolo, I had actually completed my 2 selections, but when I checked again the "Savannah View" I had selected had changed back to "Make a Selection".

So glad I saw this! I completed online checkin already and I just checked and had the same experience!

I am about to book a room for our first stay at AKL. We visit this resort every trip to WDW and are very excited to be finally staying here.
I know that we want a savannah view room but other than that I have no idea what request to make. Is one savanna better than another? We don't mind the long walks to our room so that's not a problem. We do prefer to have coffee outside every morning. Can I request not being on the first floor so we will have a balcony?
Our trip will be in early February.

I don't believe any of the savanna view rooms are on the first floor so that shouldn't be a problem.

IMO sunset is the better view.
I've been hoping for Sunset lately, as I've been on Arusha and Uzima so far but am happy w/ where ever I end up if I can see the animals from my balcony :)
Sunset is the largest of the savannas and is visible from many villas in DVC's Kidani as well as some rooms in the main Ldge Jambo house on Kudu trail and a sliver of Sunset savanna can be seen from some rooms on Ostrich trail. What makes it unique in my mind is the small herd of zebras on it. There are assorted other animals on Sunset including giraffes & I think Ostrich.
Arusha savanna is the middle savanna which you see when you walk out the back of Jambo's lobby beyond the fire pit. Arusha view used to be a seperate, more expensive booking category. Arusha will have giraffes and usually at least a pair of zebra plus lots of other animals. There are no rooms w/ people pen views on Arusha. Rooms on both Kudu and Zebra trail may front Arusha savanna.
Uzima savanna is the same size as Arusha savanna although to many it appears smaller because of the way it's laid out. It will have giraffes and usually at least a pair of zebra plus lots of other animals. It's on the pool side of the Lodge and some rooms on Zebra trail overlook Uzima savanna.
Whichever savanna you are on the animals tend to move slowly in species groups from feeding station to feeding station to water hole, etc.. You could go out on your balcony and catch several giraffes gliding by whereas your next door neighbor could go out an hour later and miss them. If you see the truck going through putting out browse pretty soon some animals will mosey over to munch. You can often see animals at night as well.

Can anyone tell me about the balcony on a standard view 2 bedroom villa at Kidani? More specifically how many doors and where they are located in the villa to get outside? Also the main room pull out, how comfy is that for a 9 night stay for an adult? And lastly, is there a way to ask for pool view anymore since it's not on the online check in?

I'm looking for information about the ceramics activity at Kidani Village. Is this something only for kids or can adults participate too? Also, on the activities calendar it shows "Design your own..", what is that? We have two hang out around the resort days scheduled and want to really enjoy the resort. Thanks!

Am I understanding correctly that there are some standard rooms with bunk beds? Anyone know if there is a standard bunk bed room that also has a partial Savannah view?

DD thinks we are still staying at CSR (we just switched this week - so excited!!) and she so very much wants to stay at AKL in a bunk bed. I think we will hold off telling her about the switch so it is a surprise - and getting a bunk bed would be icing on the cake!

I have been looking for this in the TP site, and I have found 2 rooms that are standard with BB that are partial Savannah view rooms. They do exist and I will be requesting one for October, but I do understand that the odds are not great.ill post how it goes.

Exit to add: the only problem I see with theses two rooms is that they each connect with another room. Usually, this is a deal breaker for me because I can usually hear everything in the next room when there are connecting doors. Decisions, decisions!

There are more than 2 of those rooms. There are 4 alone that I know of that do not have a connecting door. The TP site is extremely inaccurate with this type of information.

That's great to know, thank you! Still not great odds, but good to hear I can put all 3 as a request!

Would you recommend wording it in the request as partial Savannah view with bunk bed? Or are there better key words to use for the room assigners? Thanks!

Anyone can do the ceramics. They have them as activities down by the pool but community hall has them as well. I highly recommend it. The design your own can vary because they have canvas bags, t-shirts, etc etc. Again all of this can be done a community hall. It has a pool table, its own view, tv, ps4, xbox, and wii.

Request a partial on the res and again at check in. Can't be guaranteed. However, they are doing this new testing phase of offering you an upgrade (a lot of the time it is bunk bed rooms or pool view). You do have to be eligible for it (so your MMV). If it is not offered to you; then you could always ask. Anyway, the upgrade is usually 40\45 a night.
