Hi!
I am looking at the option to rent DVC points for the AKL studio Savannah view as well. Can I ask how far in advance you booked your room? Also, did you go through a broker? Thank you so much!

I used the DVC rental store and have been very happy so far. I booked in January for a stay on May 31 and got a studio in Jambo house. They booked magical express and dining for me. They also offered rental protection. You apply for what you want first and they give you a quote. If you like it you will then pay deposit. Some other sites wanted deposit just to check. Hope this helps.

I second them. We are pleased with our experience. We booked 11 months our because we wanted to be assured to be in Jambo house, but you could easily book at 7 months and get Kidani. We have done that before as well.

We will be staying at akl standard view room 26/10 till 9/11. Very excited as we managed to stay there one night a few years ago on dvc points. This time we got a package through Disney uk with dining. One question for all you lovely people out there... We are a family of five. Two adults, one 7 year old, one 5 year old and our littleist one will be 2 when we go, we've requested a bunk bed room but know the chances of gettin that are slim, was just wondering where you can fit the cot in as this is where our little one would sleep.
Also we were thinking of having cereal in the room on some mornings, how easy do you think this might be. We could bring kids bowls from home and buy cereal and milk as well have a car hire, but just wondering what other peoples Experiences of eating a small bite in the room was. Thanks

We we will arriving the day after you! We also did WDTC-Uk free dining. Placement of the cot will depend on how often everyone is up during the night. Either in between the beds or the one bed and sliding doors. We used the space near the entrance door for our suitcases, but not sure you could do a cot there.
They sale cereal (and lots of other stuff) in the shop at the hotel. We always had extra food on the dining plan, that we would bring back to the room for morning. Bagels, muffin really and snack credit. They were really helpful in the restaurant (I think the name isMara) with using the credits.

My wife and I booked our AKV savanna view room (actually rooms since we got 2 the other is for my brothers family) at exactly the 11 month mark. In fact we we're at WDW when that date came up. Our broker sent us all the information and we confirmed it before we left.

We've become big fans of renting points. Just returned from a BWV stay during Marathon week..............really had a great room (4059 - says courtyard view but you could see Spaceship Earth from our balcony). Scheduled this one 11 months in advance too............... Have a request in for PVV Studio for next years marathon...........hoping and praying (Its a tough get because they're so new)..............again 11 months in advance.

Doug :goofy:

Thank you for the reply! I am hoping for Jambo too! I guess I'll shoot for the 11 month mark.

Has anyone written to AKL and gotten information on when all the reno will end and how/when it will effect CL? Thank you!

The date I've heard is through May 20. We check in May 17, so I hope that's right. I would LOVE a renovated room!

We rented points through David's Disney. Booked a Savannah view studio in Jambo House. Our stay starts 1/31/16, and we first contacted David's with the request on 9/19/15.

Thank you for the info! How exciting that you will be there next week!!! Have a great trip!

I check into a Standard Jambo Studio on Saturday! I usually stay at Jambo or Kidani 4 or 5 times a year! :goodvibes

We are just finishing up our trip and let me say we have loved AKL, nothing but fun. On the other note this will probably be our last trip. The quality has gone done at Disney as a whole. Everthing from cleanliness to dining quality. Epcot was a park we hadn't been to and thought it was a wast of time. The only downfall to AKL is that the bus service always stops at Kidani village first when returning from a park, which tells me that the priority for disney is the DVC members.

I'm sorry to hear you feel that way, but I do agree that in some respects Disney has definitely let things slip. However, as a DVC owner for 11 years now, I want to assure you that we are not the priority!!! They already have our money!

I don't know how crowded the parks were during your visit, but this is their "slow season". During busier times, Kidani and Jambo often have dedicated buses.

May I suggest that you send an email to Disney? They do appreciate feedback, both positive and negative. :thumbsup2
