Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS Resort

My grandson would have the same question. I do not remember seeing any but that does not mean that there might not be some down by the small pool. I sort of doubt it though as it would be difficult to contain all those balls bouncing around. There is a big football field though.

There are lots of neat oversized sports icons to look at and inside the main building are many autographed pictures of folks he will be very familiar with.

I walked all round the complex and did not see a basketball court to play on.

Thanks Linda!! :)
We're actually booked at POFQ but we were checking out Sports for another trip and that got him going!!!!

We are leaving on Saturday for All-Star Sports and after packing I realized that we might just decide to do laundry when we are there. :laundy:

Can anyone tell me, are the laundry facilities open 24 hours? We might like to get it done after coming back from the parks.

Any help is much appreciated! :goodvibes

Don't know if they are open 24 hrs or not but we did do laundry after 11pm when we were there in Nov 06. Hope this helps!!!

Thanks! Since we are going in a few days, the parks close pretty early anyway since it is January, so I am assuming that we will be fine. Thank again! ;)

I'm sure this has been asked but I didn't have time to read all 16 pages :) . Do the rooms here at ASSp have hair dryers in them? What about the soap and shampoo do they still have the liquid dispensers or do they do the bar soap and bottles of shampoo? We will be staying here for the 1st time in Feb.

Thanks!!

They do have hairdryers in the room.
They have bar soap and little bottles of shampoo.

I really did not like the shampoo but it is better than no shampoo at all.

Have a great trip.:woohoo:

Thanks!! We're excited. We chose ASSp since we will be there during ESPN the Weekend. Our DDs have no idea about the trip...only 40 more days!!

Does anyone know if the Hoops Hotel buildings have been refurbished and has anyone stayed in these? My kids are big basketball fans. Sorry to hear no basketball courts though.

We stayed in Hoops in August 07 and the rooms were not renovated at that time. However, we were pleased with our room.

This thread has great info! I know it's a long way off, but we'll be there Nov 30-Dec 6 2008....CAN'T WAIT!!!!

We are going Dec 14th-20th!! Sports is the only Value we have not stayed at. Will there be very many sports teams there at this time?????

I'm very excited!!!

It has been YEARS since I stayed at Sports. I think I read they were refurb'ing the rooms? Can anyone confirm this? Any pictures? Any building I should request?

Please tell me that I 'll like to AllSSports.I'm not a resort snob but I do get a little Jelous when I see where other people are staying.I was lucky enough to get an upgrade last yr to a 1bdroom at OKW for 13 nites and got spoiled. The tought of having to go back to such a small room scares me:scared1: My dh doesn't care were we stayed because we spend all our time in the parks. All we did at OKW was go swimming for an hour the rest of the time we were at the parks or sleeping. I can upgrade to a moderate but I would like to save some $ for our november trip to DISNEYLAND. We stayed at POP before and we thought that it was waaayyy to crowded. We never once had a seat on the bus either way. With 2 small kids and a double stoller it was a nightmare.Does the AllSsports alwasys make a stop at the other all stars?
Are all the rooms remodeled?
Any advise
TIA

The bus stops at ASSPORTS first before heading to Music and Movies, so it's more likely you would get a "seat" on the bus. ASSPORTS is the only resort we have stayed at and we never found it was crowded. We never even saw our neighbors on either side of our room!! Hope this helps.

Does anyone have an opinion on which would be better ...... The top floor or the ground floor request??? We have never stayed at AS Sports .....but stayed on the top the floor at Pop and LOVED it ......so I was wondering how the ground floor would be?

We've stayed at Sports, Music and Movies. We prefer Sports. When we were there in December, the buses never went to Music or Movies in the mornings because there were enough people getting on at Sports so they went from Sports straight to the parks. That was NICE! Saved a lot of time that way. We always got to sit, too. If you are in a long line waiting to get on the bus, you could always wait for the next bus to assure you will have a seat.

Then on the return from the parks, many times Sports had a dedicated bus. Plus, the bus stops at Sports first to let people off there.

We usually request the third floor.

We just got back Sunday from a 3 night stay at ASSp in the Hoops building #2. It had been refurbished and was very nice. We were on the outside of the building...not looking into the basketball courtyard.

As far as the busses go they would stop at ASSp 1st in the mornings and go to Music & Movies...there were a couple of times that no one was waiting at either of them. On the way back to the resort from the parks we always had our own bus but I believe it would stop at the other 2 also. We always left when the parks were closed.

The main pool area seemed crowded on Saturday. We couldn't get a chair when we first went to the pool...I can't imagine how crowded it gets out there in the summer when the resort is full!!

We never ate at the food court because we had ADRs at the parks or at other resorts. I did go to get our refillable mugs and fill them a couple of times. I went at off times and it didn't seem crowded at all.

We enjoyed our stay at ASSp but DH & I both prefer Pop...there's nothing I can put my finger on but we both said next time back to Pop.

Thanks for all the positive response!I'm feeling better about staying there.
