Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

we are staying for 5 nights the first week of December. my husband now has to wear a compression boot and my BIL just had hip replacement surgery, sometimes getting old is a real challenge! Anyway just want to make sure there are elevators avail in all the buildings or should we request first floor? lots of stairs make life worse for my DH. we are thinking to request Jazz since we did not get prefered, any other request we should make for a shorter trek to food/bus?
thankyou for any input
Bev
There are elevators in each building behind the icons. If you think it would be easier I would still request ground level. I agree getting older can be a challenge :) but I hope your stay is magical and you do not encounter mobility issues.

Just returned from an 8 night stay. We were in the Rock Inn section on the 3rd floor with connecting rooms. Enjoyed our stay. We weren't at the resort too much except to sleep. Did use the pool the first day we arrived. And we ate in the food court a few times. It was a wonderful trip - there with our daughter's family. Great memories of watching our 2 little granddaughters taking in all the sights.
Glad you enjoyed your trip. We are looking to stay at The Rock Inn ourselves and I was hoping to get connecting rooms. Can you tell me if both rooms had double beds and also let me know which room #'s they were?

We were in rooms 3650 & 3651 on the 3rd floor. Yes, both rooms had double beds. Also used a pack & play in one of the rooms. Since it was our daughter and family we kept the connecting door unlocked and used both rooms for the grandkids to be able to wander around. We were close to the end near the stairs (and parking lot) but used the elevators when we had luggage and strollers. It wasn't that close to the main building but the walk wasn't that bad. We liked being close to the parking lot since we used the car a lot and it was an easy walk to carry the kids into the room when they were sleeping after a long day at the parks. Hope you have a wonderful trip!

Hi. We had to cancel our christmas cruise 24th - 28th December on The Dream because I was recently very ill and hospitalised. I am now recoving at home and doctor said I was ok to fly to Orlando ( we live in the UK ) but not be out at sea. We had our DVC resorts booked for before the cruise at SSR and VWL as we were doing WDW before the cruise but wuthout the cruise this left us a gap in accomoation until we flew home. But my wife phoned Disney when I came out and we were lucky enough to get the last accessible room with roll in shower at Disney at ASMu! We have never stayed at this resort before and we will be spending Christmas eve, Christmas day , 26th and 27th checking out on 28th when we fly home. It sures looks nice. We decided to get a little Christmas tree to put in our room. Do other folks do this? Is it allowed and ok?

Yes. You can have a tree. We have done it several times.

Ooh thats exciting, thanks!
Anyone know if they have mickey waffles?

Yes. Yum!

We just got back from ASMu last Wednesday. I had never stayed at the All-Stars, I usually stay at a Deluxe or Moderate resort. I wasn't expecting much. It was a quick trip and we weren't planning to spend much time in the room.

I have to say...we loved it! We didn't expect to, but we did. We had a third floor, corner room in Broadway building 7. It was really quiet and we were pretty close to the parking lot, so it wasn't far to our car. It was a good 5-10 minute walk from the main building, but we didn't go there often. We used the online check in, they granted all of my requests (top floor, Broadway), and I got a text when our room was ready. We never went to the main lobby of the resort. The rooms are small. We were just two adults, so we fit without a problem. I could see if four full grown adults tried to stay in one room it would be a bit crowded.

Every cast member that we interacted with was very polite and nice. Actually, in general we kept remarking how the cast members all over property were a lot more pleasant than we have seen in years. It was refreshing.

All in all we would definitely consider staying here again. You can't beat $83/night on Disney property!

anybody have a map of All Star Music resort?

I have a standard room booked for August. Would like to stay close to main building and transportation.

any suggestions to which building to ask for?

When you do online checkin, be sure to request close to transportation, it is one of the choices online. Besides, the buses pick up at the main building.

Which buildings are the family suites in?

Are the fold out beds (sofa, chairs) comfortable or hard? 2 adults and 2 - 9 years olds

Are the fold out beds made up when you get there with the sheets or do you have make them up?

Do you leave the fold up beds out so the housekeeper makes them up? Or do you make them up yourself?

Does the housekeeper fold the beds up each day or leave them out?

We were just there this Oct/Nov. My 23 year old son slept on the pull out sofa bed and said it was fine and not uncomfortable. Me I slept on the pull out ottoman but had to add the mattress from the pull out chair for a little more support. The beds are made and have pillows. Mousekeeping will make them up daily. If I folded them they opened them to make them. If I left them open they made them up and closed them. Hope this helps.

Stayed here Thanksgiving week. First time at Music, usually stay at Pop. Very nice stay. Quiet.

Looks like I'll be staying here 8/18-23! Solo trip now - initially I was going to be coming with someone else and we were going to stay at POFQ, but for certain reasons (we both realized how little we have in common and that we were trying to force a friendship based on a couple of shared interests when that is really all that was common and everything else was WAY too different - like polar opposites) we decided that traveling together is NOT a good idea. As much as I'd love to stick with POFQ and try that resort, I'd budgeted based on the two of us splitting it, and there seems to be a single supplement added to the package as the new balance was more than half. ASMu comes out pretty much what I had budgeted, so...

I'm actually cool with it and excited! I mean, I'll be at Disney, right???? I stayed in the Country section in Jan 2011 for my first half marathon and enjoyed the property just fine.

I have a standard room, and I would like to be in Jazz or Broadway I think - should I call and have that request added or just wait until online check-in opens? (I've never been really picky about sections so haven't really done the request thing before.)

Thanks!!

Just an FYI - the spring discount was released & I was able to apply it to our stay at ASMu for our upcoming trip in May. It's 20% off and if you already had 4-day base tickets you could have a 5th added for free. Saved my a total of $267.20 and we now have an extra park day!

I think everything has been answered except the first question. The family suites are in Calypso & Jazz Inn. Ours was in Calypso, Building one & it was a great location.
