Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MUSIC Resort

We are going during the food court refurb. What would be the best location to stay in to be closest to the food court at Sports? TIA :cool1:

You would be better to move to Sports or Movies if you will be using the food court. The way Music is laid out the only buildings close to the other two resorts are Calypso which is preferred.

As the previous poster mentioned, Calypso is the closer, but it is preferred. Otherwise, Rock Inn for being closer to Sports and Broadway or Jazz for being closer to Movies.

Thanks to both of you for your reply. I have been trying to get switched to Sports or Movies, but they are all filled up the week I'm going. I'm sure we will be fine, just trying to plan ahead and make the best of it. :)

We arrive in about ten days to stay at ASMu, I'm curious if I should do the online reservation or if anyone has any advice for me. My husband and I are coming for our honeymoon, so we would love a king bed. We booked through dreams unlimited and let them know our request and as far as I know she attached the request to our reservation. I understand it's definitely not guaranteed any way I do it.. But I went and looked at the options to do the online check in and king bed wasnt even something you could request. Any suggestions would be wonderful :) thanks!

I think you are asking about online check in not about a reservation. If getting a king is important then wait and check in at the counter. It's easier for them to change the assigned room there, if it's not what you want.

Calling will only get you to the call centre not the resort so it's pointless.

yes sorry I ment online check in. Ok perfect we will just wait to check in. Thanks

You actually might have good luck asking for a king. Especially in the value resorts where I would think it's a lot of families going there and they would want probably two queens. Just a thought but I think you'll get what you want!

PS - Congratulations!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know if the All Star Music Resort does anything special on Christmas Eve/Day?

There are very few kings.... Maybe 4 per floor. That's just a guess but I have seen the actual layout and I'm very close.

Hi! I'll be there at the same time! (We arrive Nov. 1) for our anniversary - so I had the same question... I too had the travel agent ask for a king bed, and she said they will do their best. From what I understand, they really do try to honor the requests. I will say that I disagree with the previous poster who said you should not do online check-in. It's true that there is no place to choose bed size there, but having checked in online will put you in a shorter line when you get to the resort, and there will STILL be a CM there who can help you switch if you don't get the right room. Going through the regular check-in line won't be any more expedient as far as room choice. Anyway, congratulations on your marriage, and let's hope we both get our king beds! Otherwise we'll all have very, um, cozy - honeymoon and anniversary! :rotfl:

If you choose to do online check in and do not get the room you want the CM at the counter can NOT make the change. They have to call a manager to do it and while this is happening you are holding up the line. The online counter will have 1, sometimes 2 CM's but the regular counter will have 4-6. If getting the king is important using the regular counter is going to be the fastest and easiest way of getting it. The intention of the online check in system is to take your package and go....not to see where your room is assigned and is it a king or does it have a view etc.

This is interesting. I am not sure it's true... perhaps you had an experience where the CM wasn't sure what to do, or there was some reason they called the manager that we aren't aware of.. I'm sure it's not standard procedure just because someone checked in on line. Yes, the online check in will have fewer CM's but I'm sure they man those counters according to the need as it would be silly to have the online checkin lines be longer than the regular ones... There isn't any reason to start an argument here, but I just respectfully disagree that it would be "fastest and easiest" to get a king bed by not checking in online. All the online checkin does is expedite your checkin - it doesn't cancel all of what a CM can do when you actually get to the resort. Whether you check in online or not, I think it's a good idea to call the resort a few days out and remind them of your requests... and then if you don't get them, be polite and try to be switched... but be aware that Disney ALWAYS makes sure to reiterate that your requests are just that - so we shouldn't try to turn them into "demands". Just my 2 cents don't spend them all at once. :)
