I will have my first stay at ASmu next month. We typically stay at the deluxe resorts since we are DVC members. We got a great annual pass rate here and are excited to try it out!

well it is now for almost 90% certain that september 2014 i will be going back to all star music wanted to do pop but almost 200 dollars price difference is too much and i liked all star music

That was what we chose to do as well. The $200 practically paid for the two MNSSHP we are attending and that was well worth it to us. It is our first time at this All Star resort but we stayed in Sports about 5 years ago and loved it.

Just an FYI for those hearing rumors of a food court remodel this fall, I spoke to our TA (and she is VERY on top of everything, trust me) and she said she has heard nothing about any sort of remodel. She said she will keep her ears and eyes open, but hasn't heard any kind of peep at all about it, so we should be all good!

It's not a rumor, it's happening. Although no idea when it will start. Here is the permit filed for the rehab of the food court (Melody Hall) at All Star Music. The permit is good until 1-30-2015, so construction will have to be completed by then.

in january 2014 when i was there, some of the cm's talked about music having the food court closed down as the way sports was in 2013.


i stayed at sports in october '13.
i booked in january for that stay and did not get a letter about the construction there until august.

many of the the guests were surprised with that letter.


it evenually was on the wdw website when it went public knowledge.

i don't doubt it at all that music food court shut down will happen sometime this year.

the resort will have shuttle busses to take you back and forth to movies or sports for the food courts.


i was at sports in october last year and used the shuttle busses to go to movies food court.

i just took the first bus that was in the front, it didn't matter to me which food court i went to.

the busses ran continuously.
i never had more than a 2-3 minute wait.

How does that work with the refillable mugs? Seems silly to have to go to another resort just to refill your drink.

Sports turned the arcade into a mini food court. There were places to refill mugs as well as grab and go cooler items like sandwiches and such. HTH

Everyday from about about noon or 1pm until into the evening they have activities at the main pool. Music trivia, hula hoop contest, line dancing etc. to wrap it up at night they show a movie on a big screen beside the pool. There are a team of CM's that run everything.

We spend a fair bit of time at the pool in the afternoons and have LOVED participated in the games.

They also play pretty good music there all day long....and it's loud enough that you can actually enjoy it.

Can you swim while watching the movie? Is that allowed? Is it physically possible to see the screen while swimming?
Thanks! Was thinking our swim time would be in the evenings but would like to see the movie too.

The answer is 'sometimes'. The AoA suites are currently included in the FD and summer room discounts. The ASMu suites are included in the FD promo not sure about the summer room only deal.

Yes, you can swim while the movie is on but you won't see very well and I doubt you will hear it that well either. They set up the screen on the grass between the pool and the food court. Everyone drags lounge chairs over on the end of the pool deck that faces the screen.

thanks! I was interested to know about a room only or package with dining....no free dining ever happens for us in April, but was looking into trying a suite out depending on price. ASMU would be our choice, not AOA

Hmm. Depends on what kind of music a person likes. Doubt they play much Trance music there.

Are there TV screens at the All Star bus stops that display when the next bus is scheduled to arrive for each park?

Just a quick question, do the all stars only share buses every once in a while? Do they ever at busier times?
