Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Jeanylaser, I hope you get the perfect room in the love bug section, enjoy your trip!

Amberg, that's for the info, it helps put things into a better perspective for me.
I'm a bit torn, I think my kids would go ape for the pool/tropical trees view, but my husband wants Toy Story. :lmao: Thankfully I've still got plenty of time to mull this one over, unlike my park plans and dinner reservations which I need to pull from the air and get down on paper over the next few days. Vacation planning comes so easily to some, boy I wish I were one of 'em!
Thanks again!

(P.S. I'm waving at ya from NB)

Thank you Disney*Dreaming I will enjoy my trip to ASMO! And I will love the Love bug Section!

I waving you back!:wave::wave:

I think that is pretty well known around here, no offense. I think when booking dining ressies, they say to allow up to 1 hr and 45 mins for travel! While a LONG time, this MIGHT SOMETIMES be the norm. Plus, you have to add in the expected 15-30 min early arrival! I know, this is insane, but what can you do? :confused3 Some of those ADRs are Well Worth It tho! :thumbsup2

Exactly. But driving doesn't always make it faster, Especially if you don't know where yo uare going. Some of the further places have taken us awhile to get to. For the most part we make dinner ADR's and make them for a resort closest to the park we will be at that day, so we don't have to start at the resort to begin with. But if you leave early enough you will gt there in time and we usually have a bit to walk around the resort to see the sites.

I never knew there was buses from All stars to ticket/transportation center

They don't.

I agree, and that's what we do too! :thumbsup2

All-Star Movies is my favorite value resort and guess what they have updated the outdoor movies! And now All-Star Movies is now in www.buildabettermousetrip.com! and click on outdoor movies! I can't wait November listing of the movies!

There is no bus from the Allstars to the TTC. The bus only goes to the magic kingdom then you would need to take a boat or the monorail back to the ttc.

We found it much easier to just go to the park closest to the resort we were eating at and taking a bus or monorail from that park.:)

Does anyone know what time the buses stop running? We're staying at ASMo from 11/6-11/9 and we have a very late ADRs 9:40 pm at O'hana at the Poly. MK is only open till 9 that night, so I wasn't sure if the buses will still be running to get back to ASMo when we finish eating.

Sorry about the misinformation about the TTC. I remembered that after I got off of the computer. I agree that making your reservations closest to the park that you are in is the best way to go. I also agree about driving taking a long time if you don't know where you are going. We were lost several times. But, that makes memories !! Have fun.

The park buses stop running an hour after the park closes. For Ohana, you would need to take a Poly bus to DTD (buses stop at 2am) and take a DTD bus to the Allstars! We did this in December, but let me warn you it was packed at DTD trying to get connections that late.

Which standard room is the quietest the Love bug or the Mighty Ducks! Please tell me!

Booking now for 2010...it's never too early! Click on link below for more information or to join. Free is a great price for a fridge and coffee pot!

Thanks for the info for the All-Star Movies Resort and our family will enjoy it!

Thanks so much for the info. I thought that's what we'd end up having to do. Oh well, works for me.

Good morning Disers!
Could someone please help me out? I am booking a preferred room, but I'm not sure where exactly to request it be. Could you recommend what building etc. would be best for what I'm looking for? We are going at the beginning of May.
We have 2 kids, 8 and 10, and noise doesn't normally bother us. Since we are coming from Canada, and our winter will just be on the melt when we go to Disney (First trip:woohoo:) I would really like a room that both over looks the pool area, and hopefully some tropical landscaping. (We want something a wee bit more exotic than what we're used to here in Canada) Is it possible to be in the Toy Story area and still have a pool view or would one need to be in Fantasia? I find looking at the map of the resort I'm having a hard time gauging distance. It all looks huge and well spaced out, but maybe it's closer than it appears in the drawing. So, for those of you that have been to the All-Star movies and know it like the back of your hand, which building or area should I be requesting? Thank-you.

Hello there! Im from NB! :) You will LOVE DW and AS mo! We are headed back in 10 days, we were there a year ago for the first time. SO MUCH FUN! We were in the Toy Story building. Honest to goodness, the walk alone is very 'florida' with the greenery. When getting off the bus, we'd go inside the main building, walk right through to the back doors, and bam, the pool is right there. Lots of palm trees. So honestly, I dont think it matters AS much where your room is. BUT! I would say the fantasia building if you want to be that close to the pool...will be noisy. We took the Toy Stoy building because our kids LOVE the movie. Hubby checked distance to walk was about .38 klms or so from the main building. 101 Dalmations looks SO CUTE! Very courtyardish...vs playpark*ish* as the Toy Story section is. We are regretting getting the standard rooms, and its totally booked full so we can't upgrade. So we will aim for the Herby Love bug section which is about .5 klm walk. Sounds like a lot, but honestly, you are busy looking at everything, soaking it all in.
Have a great time, anything is better than what we are starting to get-and will continue until June. lol Very excited for you and your family, it will be so much fun!!

I had in my mind that a section of the 101 Dalmation buildings were standard, is that wrong? We were hoping for that section, but only have standard. Since they are all booked up, we can't get preferred. :( Is there anything we can do? I wouldn't mind paying the difference, but we can't even do that!
