That hair dryer info is no longer correct--there
are hairdryers in the rooms now, installed on the wall. Look back a few pages, somebody [sorry, can't recall who!] posted lots of great photos, and it shows the hairdryer on the bathroom wall. It worked fine for me!
As to breakfast--the waffles were good, omelettes were great, portions were generous, and the selection was much better than I expected. Plus there was every variety of cold quick breakfast you can imagine--bagels, cereal, fruit, pastries. Plenty of options there, and even in the gift shop, to buy the night before and avoid the food court to save time. We only sat down to eat a hot breakfast on our departure day--on park days, I'd rather eat my granola bar and apple at the bus stop. But for a family, it would be very easy for one adult to go get it and bring back to the room.
I did take a hot pot and my own coffee singles to save time some mornings. If you do that, be forwarned that there is no creamer to take from the food court--not packets or individual liquid servings--it's all in a pump dispenser. Not a huge deal, I can cope with black coffee, but next time I will take my own creamer, too. Another great tip I learned here was to pack some disposable cups & lids, so you can drink your coffee while waiting for a bus and dump it when the bus arrives. I love the refillable mugs, but not on the way into a park!
My "preferred" room was perfectly quiet, on the back side of the Fantasia building facing the love Bug courtyard. I would suggest just asking to be on the back if you are placed in any Fantasia building. Toy Story and Dalmations aren't really facing the pool, it would not be a problem in my opinion. Look carefully at the maps linked on the first page of this thread, and you can see that your placement in a building makes a lot of difference. I guess there's always more foot traffic on the courtyard sides, and less on the outside edges, but you might be looking at pavement. Lucky assignment of neighbors is the most important factor in getting a quiet room.
I did request that we face landscaping, rather than parking lot, when I made the reservation. I don't know if that really helped or if it was just good luck, but that's exactly what we got. I loved our view as we stepped outside--toward Herbie and the giant chalk board /slate thing that covers that staircase. [What do you call that thing, anyway?! You know "scene one take one, lights, camera, action"?]
Those themed stairways were a fun surpise to me--I didn't really catch that from the boards--everybody talks about the central icons. Both ends of every buidling are stariways, but cleverly disguised by giant stuff. The slate things for Love Bug, storybooks for Fantasia, fire hydrants for Dalmations, buckets of toy soliders for Toy Story, and ...I don't remember what for Ducks! But they were all cute.
