Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

I know the top post says that refrigerators are available for an extra charge but I have read reports that there are refrigerators in all rooms now. Can anyone confirm that?

The first post in this thread is old. Now all rooms have a refrigerator free of charge. It also says you can request non-smoking rooms and gives the rates for wired internet. All Disney resort rooms are non-smoking and have free WiFi.

That's what I thought! Thanks so much for your help!

I remember an outlet at the end of the bed closest to the bathroom, one behind the nightstand, one closer to the floor by the door. There was a power strip behind the bureau, not sure about available plugs on it. I don't remember about the sink area unfortunately.

Here is a picture of the outlets in the sink area at ASMovies (June 2015)

Hi everyone! Just got back from a stay at All Star Movies in the Toy Story Building. We received a text and an email a few hours before we actually arrived on property with our room number and a PDF copy of the resort map. It said that we could bypass the front desk and go directly to our room - we had no issues doing this!! I thought it was really awesome to be able to just park right in the lot near our room and head right in to shower off our drive and head out to dinner. Here are some pictures of Room 9728 on the first floor.

We were there for only two nights and we didn't have any issues. My only complaint was that there wasn't an extra blanket, but we made do without.

Looks like I'm headed back to Movies. Haven't been here since I was young. Can't even remember which building I stayed.
Got a deal on a Preferred Room here for less than normal at Pop, which we've been staying at.

Still considering going back to FQ, because this is a bit of a special trip.. but we'll see.

Did you pay for a preferred room? I'm hoping for a room in the Toy Story Building but we are booked in a standard. I was wondering if upgrades were more common since it looks like more rooms are considered preferred than standard.

We booked our trip about two weeks before we headed down and the only option was preferred left in the value category. I'm assuming that since four of the areas are marked as preferred rooms and only two as standard, that upgrades are probably common enough? When I stayed in Movies in 2006 and 2007 and paid for standard rooms, I was placed in Mighty Ducks and the Love Bug which are the standard category rooms though... maybe someone else would be better at answering that for a more recent answer.

I booked through a Travel Agent who called to put in my request for a Toy Story room and she was told that both Toy Story buildings are preferred so we upgraded to preferred because my daughter's favorite it Toy Story lol! Herbie and Mighty Ducks are the only buildings that are Standard at the resort.

We are planning on staying at ASMo Sept 25-30, 2016 and wondering if this is a timeframe for the big groups. We are used to POP at this time of year.

Thanks. :)

Just returned from a stay at Movies. We are used to staying at POP. Had to take a preferred room as that is all it would let us book but we had an AMAZING location!!!! Our room is where the red dot is. Resort was much quieter than I expected. Only used the food court for soda. Liked that the soda machine was accessible 24 hours (unlike POP). Didn't care for the bus sharing. :(
Worst part is the hotel is just so far from everything! We skip AK most trips (waste of park time to us). Not a bad a hotel, but I still prefer POP.

That's pretty interesting that the refill machines are available after the food court closes.
If you go in through the hotel entrance, there was no gate. We went in and refilled our mugs at 2:30 am after returning from emh at MK one night and another night I could not sleep and went up in the middle of the night and was able to access the machines from the lobby side.

Checking in on Feb 1st 2016, requested Toy Story section I have a res for a standard room, any chance I'll actually get that section, since it is preferred rooms?

We are going to be back at ASMovies in the middle of May 2016. Last time we were there, we stayed in Fantasia 2000, top floor on the non-pool side. It was pretty quiet, except for one night we had some rowdies outside. They were chastised by someone else, so it wasn't terrible. I didn't mind the busses, but as a professional public transit user, it was loads faster and less crowded than my daily commute!
