Resort Thread Disney's ALL-STAR MOVIES Resort

Just out of curiosity....I am calling Disney over the weekend to edit my reservation. At ASMo I do not want to be facing a parking lot and I would prefer floor 3 or 4....building is no big deal but from what I have read Mighty Ducks is the better non preferred option.....how many requests will they allow over the phone?

**this is an edit to a bounceback reservation if that makes any difference

My requests were a king bed and a quiet location. Sounds like you are really only making two requests too, or maybe three if you request a section. I don't think that is out of bounds.

I think they give preference to the first one listed. So ensure your most important request is the first one listed.

As I recall, there where only three floors in my building Mighty Ducks 3. I was on that floor. It was very quiet.

How soon do you need to request a crib or pack n play for the room? We check in on Wed. Is it too late to request one? When we planned our trip I thought our little guy would be ready for a regular bed but he still sleeps in his crib at home. (I'm going to keep him in there until he tries to get out on his own).
Also, what is the cost if we do get one?
Thanks!

I would recommend calling and making any requests as soon as possible. It can't hurt can it?

Since you're checking in this week...I don't think you'll have an issue getting a pack 'n play upon check-in. In my experience even when I requested one ahead of time, sometimes it wasn't in the room when we arrived and we needed to call anyway.

The pack 'n play will be included at no extra charge.

Going in 10 days. If we happen to not have a working fridge how exactly would I ask for the $15 credit? Would I just request a credit since we have a non-working fridge? Also, we have 3 rooms. Maybe this will make them want to have us in rooms that they are working, hopefully.

If you get to your rooms and don't have any working fridges, go down to the front desk and ask if they have any available to bring to your rooms. If they don't ask them for the $15 nightly credit for each room.:thumbsup2

Just booked ASMo for the first time for our trip in early March - we've stayed at ASMu several times and love it, our last trip at ASSp was terrible (pool was closed due to construction and it just killed the ambiance!)

Any big/fun differences between ASMu and ASMo that you can think of? (Besides theming).

We booked a preferred room, hoping to get something close to reduce our walking time to the main building/bus stop. First time not taking a stroller and hoping I don't have to carry our 2 1/2 year old too far from the bus if he falls asleep.

I think all the All Stars are pretty much the same except for theming. And the buildings are arranged differently at the different properties. Like the fact that the Ducks section is closer to Music's main building than to the Movie's main building. I think, looking at the map, that is the only place where buildings at one resort are closer to the main building at another resort.

If there are other differences, other than Sport's food court is being renovated, I'm not aware of them.

Do all king rooms have the roll in shower or just some of them? At pop I had a handicap accessible room but it had a tub

They have a variety the same as POP...not sure of exact numbers but they are required to have a variety to meet ALL needs. :)

The Movies food court is the big difference to me, at least in terms of the size and layout. My take is that by the time they got to building Movies they realized they needed a different approach than the more compact Sports and Music food courts. Curious to see what the Sports food court turns out to be following its extensive renovation.

We are wanting to return to the Movies for next year's trip! That is where our Disney magic began. We have stayed at POP since then and love it, too! Is it a huge difference on bus travel since the All-Stars share? It's been quite awhile, and I wasn't sure if it would be a big disappointment or not much at all. TIA!

The sharing is dependent on the time of day. For example, one morning during my July visit we had a private bus from Music (that bus stop was closer to our Mighty Ducks building) to Epcot because they were running single buses from each All-Star to the assigned park -- we were the only ones to board and the driver wasn't required to pick up at the next stop Movies. So I'd predict little disappointment. :)

I arrive Saturday and traveling alone, get me excited about staying here. I've stayed at pop twice not a big fan and stayed plenty of times at sports which I love. Never stayed here so what makes you wanna stay here. Also I requested a king room near transportation. I know the king room is based on availability but where would standard rooms near transportation be. Thanks

If you booked a standard room (not preferred) then those rooms are located in two sections - Mighty Ducks and Love Bug.

If you want to be close to transportation, Mighty Ducks is recommended because you're actually closer to the Music bus area than the Movies one.

So when I did online check in and selected near transportation will that give me a good shot at being in mighty ducks?

So if I end up in any other section does that mean I got upgraded to a preferred room
