Does disneyquest have a security check before patrons can go in? I was going to take my children there for the first time this August but am questioning it based on hearing of a second shooting today in a club in Florida. I know people say disneyquest is very dark inside and is 4 floors. My kids would be in different areas, most likely then me. I wouldn't feel comfortable if there is no security check. I know security checks are not 100% but I do believe they are better then nothing.

When we were there last September I don't recall there being any security screening, this may have changed since then I do not know. Disney Springs itself does not have security screening either I don't believe.

You can't bring bags into QQ, you must bag check them. Other than that, just like the rest of Disney Springs, there is no true "security check" that I'm aware of. I'm sure there are plenty of undercover security walking around. However, if someone were going to target WDW, I'm thinking DQ would be one of the last places they'd target. It's not densely populated. Besides, that kind of thing can happen anywhere, anytime.

There were probably just as many people in the Lego Store as there were at DisneyQuest, and far more outside.

I don't recall any security. we didn't have any bags that day so I have no idea in terms of that. It is very dark.

That being said...I wouldn't let your fear keep you from living your life. The mall doesn't have security either...

Probably more people at your local shopping mall and no security check there. Definitely more people outside the airport before you get to a security check. Same thing outside any of the parks before you get to a security check. Don't let it stop you from having fun and living your life.

I don't think there is a rule against bags. DD and I both brought ours and saw many others with them as well. But I don't remember any type of security check. It's really no more of a target than anywhere else though. You would be at just as much risk in a store or restaurant, or just walking around DS.

Maybe you're right about the bags. We always want to check ours, just so we don't have to carry it around. Now that I think about it, I do recall seeing others with bags. So scratch that thought. But I still don't think security is a big deal at DQ.

You'll be fine. Don't let worry stop you, especially at Disney.

The shooting down here in Fort Myers appears to have happened outside this teen club and not inside. 99% of clubs have security, and this club here had stated "security strictly enforced", but who knows how good of a job they did. Again, I think when more info comes out, it'll be revealed more of as a drive by vs an in club shooting

There's dangers everywhere, but Disney Quest is a lot safer than a random club

Remember that shooters like to target places with high crowd levels. I don't think DQ would be on anyone's radar, given it's unpopularity.

Does anyone know if they have bag checks and metal detectors for disneyquest? I was going to take my children there on our vacation but considering another shooting today in Florida, I am hesitant. I heard it is 4 floors and very dark inside. Does anyone know if they have a security check there?

I posted this question this morning but do not see it anymore. Maybe I didn't hit "create thread"?

I just saw it on page 3, with 11 replies.

Thank you everyone for your replies. I know you are all right but I was just concerned thinking about my children being spread out in the facility and I wouldn't be there if anything happened. I know we can't live our lives in fear but the world has become a scary place.
