Disneyquest, please help!!

Hello everyone

I am going to be in dw in october for 10 days. Family, and friends to be exact. Well, in our group there are 5 children ages 1, 3, 8, 12, and 13.plus 6 adults. First, we were going to do a five day base ticket. And then since we got in on the universal 5 day tickets. So, maybe 3 days/''' in total there.Then I thought, well what can we do on the day we arrive. Usually, I just go driving around with stops @ walmart, and a grocery store. Until, checkin. So, I thought disneyquest. The tickets, are basically 25 a piece so I thought why not purchase the magic plus tickets. Thus having the options of the water parks, disneyquest, sports complex, etc. Now the question is this. Is disney quest something that a 3 year old, and a 1 year old can really enjoy. I have never been, but I am assuming the 3 oldest children would want to stay for at least a couple of hours. So, is disneyquest doable with the youngest in tow? Are there any play areas for younger children? Also, what is in the sports complex, is it something we can all do also as a group?Is it enjoyable? Thanks so much in advance

on Disneyquest... I'm not sure about the 1yr old unless maybe you held her up to do some drawing stuff they have there? But the 3yr old should be able to find some fun stuff to do there- our youngest was under 3 our first time there and she enjoyed herself. Granted she didn't ride many of the "rides" inside there and spent the majority of the time "coloring on the tv" (LOL her words) while there- but she enjoyed it. She ofcourse also liked the games at the top that COST (you get tickets and then use the tickets to buy trinkets- she always likes that kind of stuff- reminds her of Chuck E Cheese's I guess).

Your oldest kids in your party are probably going to enjoy it more and want to stay longer- but it's definitely 'doable' with the 3yr old... the 1yr old might be a tad bored or you might be a bit tired of holding her up to do things while there.. 1yr old is free anyway, right? So maybe try to go at naptime? But remember you can't take strollers inside there.

We were there last Saturday for the 1st time and I would not go back again. We were not impressed with it all. We were there for a good 3 hours and that was long enough. I was surprised because my DH loves video games and he got bored. My DS's played a few but it wasn't their thing either.
As for a 1 and a 3 year old, I don't feel there is nothing to keep them entertained.

As for the sports complex, we did not make it in there. We did not to a castmember at one of the parks and he said that there are hitting and pitching clinics for the kids. I think we would have had a better time there than at DQ.

Now this is just my opinion. I have read here that people love it. We would rather have done more of the water parks. For us we did it and would not do it again.

There are height requirements for the major games. The 3 year old and the 1 year old will not be tall enough to do the Buzz Lightyear bumpercars or some of the others. They are probably best off on the 5th floor near the pizza playing skee ball. Our 14 month old likes to be held at the arcade games and push the buttons. It's really a pain when we take him. They do not allow strollers inside DQ. Stroller parking is usually outside, so if it's rainy, the stroller gets wet. Sometimes they'll let us park the stroller inside the building.

For the others, my husband and ds(11) can spend all day in that place. They love the games. ds's favorites are build your own roller coaster, Tec n tag arcade game, Pirates, Buzz lightyear astro blaster, and the new game down on the 1st floor. Dh says we can't leave until he gets high score on centipede.

For food options, I strongly recommend trying the Quest Burger with cheese. It is by far the best burger on property. Other's will say the best burger is at Beaches and Cream, but they obviously have never tasted the quest burger. If Eric or Waldy are working, the food line moves great. They are very friendly, quick and efficient workers.

Cheesecake factory is known for their cheesecake. I've had it at DQ many times, but each time I've found it to be dry. If you're gonna try the cheesecake, be sure to get a topping on it, just in case.

If you get an extra large drink, then the refills are only $1.

It's not on the menu, but you can get a dip of vanilla icecream on the 4th floor at the dessert counter. Sometimes we'll get the dip and put it in our rootbeer to make a rootbeer float.

We were there on June 23rd for our second visit. I'm afraid there is nothing for a 1y/o to do except in the section that you have to pay for the games there is a little section with "baby" games. The games are 50 cents each. When we purchased our tickets they gave each of us a card to redeem in the section that you pay for the games. They gave each of us a card that allowed us to each play 5 games for free. It was pretty crowded when we went. We arrived around 11:30am and left about 6:00pm. We did walk across the street to eat at House of Blues which was excellent!

We were there last Thursday. I think DH and I had more fun than the kids. My shoulder was sore on Friday from playing Ms. PacMan like a maniac.

Thank you all for your replys. I will now rethink our plans, due to not being able to take strollers into the complex. My arm would fall off carrying the children around. Thank you all again, for all of your help!!

The bumper cars sound waaaay fun.

The Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster is a two person game. One person drives the bumper cars and the other loads and shoots the asteroids.

There are some table games for 2 players...air hockey, bowling, Ms. pac man, etc.

Jungle cruise is for up to 4 players. POTC is for 2 or more. Create your own coaster is for 2 players. I'm sure there are more, but those come to mind first.

This is just at DQ. However, you can get a refillable mug good for free refills at your resort.

The games are free except for a few things where you can earn tickets for prizes (skee ball, that type of thing). There are traditional arcade games (everything from Frogger and Space Invaders to the newest games) and there are several virtual reality type games, where you strap on a helmet and play a game that you view inside the helmet. There are also areas with painting and drawing where you can have your creation printed and framed for a price. Our kids did the Cyber Space Mountain, where you design a roller coaster and then ride it in a simuator. You can also get a DVD of your coaster ride for $12.

Go right at opening (11 or 11:30 depending on the day). It gets packed after lunch. There are some good food options at the CS place there (salads and panini, for example) but you can always have your hand stamped, eat somewhere else at DTD and then go back in to DQ. We ate right at DQ because we could let the kids go right back to playing while we relaxed at our table.

The dollar refills are only at DQ. If you are a member of DVC they even give the food discount on the refills!

There are old arcade style games, virtual reality games, and interactive games. There are 5 floors of games. There is a small room on the 4th floor that have games with charges to play. All the other games in the entire building are included with your price of admission.

As for food, they use to have a counter with just soup, salads and sandwhiches, but that has been closed for over a year. At the burger line, there do have some sandwich wraps. Some of the wraps are hot and some are cold. I have never tried one. I always eat a quest burger with cheese or the spinach and artichoke dip. There is a line with pizza, paninis, and spaghetti.

Whats so funny is that my 60 year old mother LOVES Disney Quest. Thats her choice for every trip. It is alot of fun and we can spend a day (or night) there.
