DisneyQuest/Mini Golf Vouchers in Package

So my mom-in-law is joining us at Disney for our June trip. We didn't realize she was joining us until last minute, so we booked her a package separate from ours (with only tickets and room). Obviously, in a package, she gets the DQ and Mini Golf vouchers for two people.

She's 81 years old. She wants NOTHING to do with DQ.

My questions are: 1) can my 7 year old and my DH use the vouchers which are in her package? and 2) For them to be able to use the vouchers, would I need to add them to her room which would still keep her under the room limits - but because she is in a package would I have to purchase them additional tickets or wait till I get there to add them to her room?

The answer - I THINK - is that you can use the passes. In the past (2013), the passes came in a booklet and I do not think were linked to a reservation in any way, you just handed the paper passes in at the front of DQ. However, it's been a few years since we had these passes, so I don't know for sure that it hasn't changed and been linked to the MB or something.

When we went in March/April 2014 we had MBs and we got the vouchers in a booklet too.

Have not been to WDW this year (yet), but several trips in the magic band era have all included the paper passes for these that you could literally give to anyone for use as long as they were used during the dates of your stay.

I decided to try the FD package again now that there are changes so I'm in the position of having DQ and miniGolf and being solo, I'm not sure if I'm going to use one or any of my passes. If I decided not too use them it would be nice to have paper passes that I could pixie dust to someone random.

I am not 100% on this, but I think that the person on the reservation has to be present to exchange the vouchers for tickets at the DQ service windows. The tickets will be issued on the green RFID cards. Once you have the tickets in hand, they are new and unassigned, so your Husband and son should be able to go into DQ, use the tickets and scan a fingerprint. Again, I am not certain of those details, but don't be surprised if your MIL has to be present for the first part of that transaction.

We have never had to do this. We travel in groups and the kids get them all - they have never been asked so much as their names, much less for identification.

^Hmm...I seem to remember having to show ID the last time I redeemed mine, but maybe it's not a strict requirement.

You are right. The person whos name is on the reservations has to show ID to redeem the voucher. Once she does that anyone can use them. We found this out when we gave our sons the vouchers and we went shopping at the Marketplace and got a call from them saying I had to show ID. Not bad since we were downtown too but it would be hard if you were at the resort and they were at DTD trying to use them.

We used our mini golf voucher a couple of weeks ago. The voucher said we had to use it before 4:00pm, but we want about 9:00pm and had no problems using it. We didn't realize until we got there that it said 4:00pm, but we decided to see if they would let us use it anyway.

If you go to Winter-Summerland you can take the Blizzard Beach bus. The Fantasia course is a little harder to get to. It's right outside of the Swan and Dolphin. We had a car and drove to that one. I enjoyed Winter-Summerland best, but my daughter likes Fantasia better.

How do you get to mini golf on the buses?

Fantasia Gardens is within walking distance of Swan & Dolphin, though you have to cross a street. Winter/Summerland is in the same parking lot as Blizzard Beach.

We took bus from DTD to the Swan. It wasn't a bad walk, just a little confusing at first on which way to go when we got off the bus. Technically you can take the bus to any of the EPCOT resorts, but the Swan and Dolphin are the closest.

The vouchers only come with packages, not room only reservations.
