Disneyquest for 12 and 13 year old

I know my 12 and 13 year old daughters would love Disneyquest, I'm just wondering if it is safe to leave them there alone for a few hours so my husband and I could go to Pleasure Island.

I think it would be safe to leave them. They will be so preoccupied with everything at DQ, that they may not want to leave. It's a big place.

I would not be comfortable leaving my kids.. that is just me.
Each person makes their own best choice. I think I work with to much of the "dark side " of humans to trust. How sad

I was just fine with allowing my daughter and a friend go off on their own at that age. They needed to check in every so often and were expected to stay together.

You know your children best - would they stay together and follow your instructions? Do you let them shop alone together in a mall for a few hours? Do they babysit?

There are lots of CMs and family groups at DQ. While CMs (and other parents) are not babysitters, they are there to help if needed.

We have left the boys at DQ by themselves for the past few years. No problems! This year they were 14 & 13, and they were in there for 6-hours (we go Easter week so its quite crowded). Just be sure to designate where/when to meet (they come out into the gift shop). They will not allow parents in to get kids. I cant think of any major problems that they would encounter. Tell them to stay together if it worries you. DQ is a lot of fun, especially for that age group.

I was just there last month myself. I would probably feel a little more comfortable if they had a cell phone to call you incase of an emergency. Just leaving without a way to comunicate would worry me.

We are letting our boys go in DQ alone our next trip (12 & 14) while we go to PI we have let them be on their own in DQ before, but we were in the building up where the Cheesecake factory is. We gave them a cell phone and call and check on them. Next trip we will watch them go in, they have to stay together including restroom breaks, they must not leave the building until we call and tell them when we are waiting at the exit. We will only be leaving them for 2 hrs.

One thought that might make you more comfortable is definately a "Big Brother is Watching" kind of place. Ever been in a dark ride and heard an announcement telling a passenger to sit down, put their hands in the ride, etc? Things are definately monitored. My little girl once stuck her head through the wrought iron fence at Disneyland and - before I even noticed - a uniformed security guard appeared out of no where to warn us that children sometimes put their heads through the fence, then their ears swell and they can't get their heads back out. We still believe he appeared by magic. Another time, I was sitting on a bench on one side of an arch and my little girls sat on the bench on the other side. It was less than 3 minutes before a security person casually strolled by to make sure they weren't alone. Just instruct your kids to stay together and to seek help if they're uncomfortable with anything and I think they'll be fine.
