Ok, Here we go!!
Day 1
Lunch Sassagoula Floatworks
This is the food court at POFQ. It was divided into 4 different windows. One was for pizza, and other "Italian" fares, one was for burgers and fries, one was desserts, and one was subs and salads.
We had just flown in and hadn't had anything since our airport bagels. Jamie had a double cheeseburger and fries. I had the philly cheese steak and fries. Since we were on the
DDP we were entitled to dessert and both quickly chose the cheesecake with strawberries.
This meal was very very good. DH's burger was cooked fresh while we waited as was my sandwich. My philly was large and had alot of meat, peppers and onions. The fries were really good too.
The cheesecake was the best part. We probably aren't that picky about our cheesecake and we both really enjoyed it and returned later in the week for a late night cheesecake snack (but I will try to cover that later with all the snacks)
We both enjoyed the food court and ate there again later in the week. If you are staying at the POFQ it is worth checking out. Very good desserts!!
We spent this day at MGM and I don't think we ate anything else until our dinner that night
Dinner Sci- Fi
Our reservations were for 6:30. I think we checked in at about 6:15 and we were seated probably a little after our ADR. Let me just say make your ADRs!!!! We took a seat right behind the podium out front of the restaurant and heard many many people being turned away.
We were seated right up front. Our waitress was great, I don't remember her name right now, but she was from Illinois. The atmosphere was really neat, I can't really remember the clips because I was so exhausted by this point. Between the wedding and traveling I was flat give out. I sat down in that car and the air conditioning made me so comfy and I just wanted to sleep. Anyway... on with the food
Apps:
Me- Onion Rings ......onion rings are one of my favorite foods and these did not disappoint, they were crispy with just the right amount of breading, I hate when you can't taste the onion for the breading!!
DH- spinach artichoke dip..... this was also great it was very cheesy!! the chips were very crisp we both shared our apps and really enjoyed them both!
Entrees:
We both got whatever steak it is they have there. This was a mistake. You are at a drive-in..... order burgers or something. My gut told me to go with the chicken sandwich, but no..... I ordered the steak because those potatoes sounded really good. Well the potatoes were the worst part. Somehow DH ate them fine, but something in them made me gag and I can eat pretty much anything. The steaks were ordered medium and were a little over cooked. They had some sort of port wine glaze or something ( I should have had this left off and just asked for steak sauce) I thought it gave it a weird flavor, but DH ate his and most of mine. It also came with green beans. The "long skinny just steamed" kind of green beans, and well I didn't like them either. I'm from Tennessee, I prefer my green beans to be cooked long and slow and with bacon grease! But once again DH didn't have a problem and ate mine and his!!
For dessert I had the apple crisp and DH had the cheesecake. I didn't like mine (I'm really not a picky eater I just didn't order on instinct here!). The apples were very bitter I ate the ice cream and left the rest. DH had the cheesecake. It had caramel corn and m&m's on the plate too. He shared with me even though he probably didn't want too!!! It was really really good. Second great cheesecake of the day!!
After this we did a ride or two and a shop or two, then we headed back to the room where DH practically had to carry me to bed!!!
Coming up:
Sunshine seasons and Le Cellier and Cantina de San Angel
