Woohoo! Where Going to Disney World!!!!

That's what you’re supposed to say? Right? Right?

Well anyway...

I would like to introduce myself and Prince

I have discovered and fell in love with these boards and after a massive month of lurking on these boards I have decided to jump in and actually post!

WOOOAH!:scared1:

Well let’s start with the basics.

DATE

My first thing I had to pick was the date. At first we were just gunna go cause we've never been and we are both in love with Disney, but then I had the brilliant idea to go for our anniversary! The timing is perfect as it is in a value season, and it gave us enough time to plan everything accordingly.

So we chose Aug. I figure if I'm asking for the week off I might as well take up all the weekends and as much time as I can away. So a 9 day trip it is.

Not to mention everyone on here says you need over a week to truly enjoy all of WDW. So there ya go...

Next..

HOTEL

After a few weeks of arguing along with back and forth banter, the prince and I have decided on Pop.

He is in LOVE with AKL and is absolutely is enamored with the animals, but I am in love with great deals.:rolleyes1

Honestly I gave in for a while was 99% on AKL for the longest time as I am a people pleaser and the hotel is just GORGEOUS, but someone convinced me to just book POP at the cheap price we got it for and then upgrade if we change our mind.

Needless to say I booked POP and the hubby is happy because it’s super cheap and we were able to get king beds.

Can I get your opinions on whether or not AKL is worth it??

I am thinking I want to surprise the Prince with an upgrade as an Anniversary present (and possibly one of those in hotel room surprises to accompany it).:lovestruc

As he is a tall man I know the room there is a lot better, not to mention the animals, pools, exclusivity, and atmosphere. To me it just seems like it’s a good idea but is it worth double the price?

Please give me your thoughts!! I really need to know if POP is a no go!

Oh and for some back story,

This is our official trip together and our first ever anniversary.

So this is a pretty big deal to me and I am so excited for it! Not only do I get to get away from here for the first time since college, but I get to celebtrate with the best person ever!

Is that a good deal or what?

I think so.

Alright here'e whats been covered:

DATE: Aug
HOTEL: POP

Up next

ADR's

Ok, well first thing is first, I (as well as everyone else in the wolrd) want to eat at CRT.

I don't care if the food is not good or if there aren't as many character apperances at night, or if you can't see the fireworks well there, I just want the experience of eating in the castle. Plain and simple. Just to say I did it :goodvibes

Next, thanks to all the great suggestions on the DIS I choose to eat dinner at Rose & Crowns and catch Illuminations.:thumbsup2

And third, I had a huge suggestion to eat at 1900 Park Street Fare. I hear the characters are hillarious and it is a good and fun way to have dinner. Not to mention I want an excuse to visit the Grand Floridian. :rolleyes1

BAM! :scared1: 180 days hits and you have to work to get some of these!!! I am so proud of myself though...
Lucky for me I got ALL of my ADR's and when I want them too!
:woohoo:

I think we weill just do those dinners and then go off site or stay in and eat the rest of our trip. Unless anyone has any other suggestions for our anniversary trip. I really don't have the budget to eat out every night so this was my sollution.

What are your favorite places to eat? Even if they arent sit down i wanna hear the favorites at WDW :)

:cool2:

Hi Aurora! I have never really read any trip reports before but I like yours. Your sig pictures are just too cute :goodvibes

The first vacation together as a couple can be really fun. Sometimes you find out stuff about each other you never really knew before (good or bad..:rotfl:)

DF is also in love with AKL but we both have never stayed there (only offsite) so I can't really give you an opinion on Disney hotels. But it would be a sweet surprise if you surprised your Prince with a stay there!
(For the record, we did not meet at WDW but DF did have his co-op at F&W and his family introduced me to all things Disney).

We had dinner at CRT my first visit to WDW and it was really fun. I can't remember what we had to eat, but it was a sweet experience to have.

I love the Rose & Crown. I also can't remember what I ate but the wait staff really went above and beyond. I hope you have a good experience there, too.

I have not been to 1900 Park Street Fare but I would like to go so I look forward to hearing about it.

I am NOT a foodie (DF is the culinary genius) and I am a picky eater. But I ate everything on my plate to be polite to his family since they footed all the bills. My taste buds have a bad memory but I'm pretty sure I liked these places:

Cinderella's Royal Table
Liberty Tree Tavern
Tony's Town Square
Rose & Crown Pub
Brown Derby
Mama Melrose
Shula's

Again, my memory is pretty bad (even though my last trip was three months ago lol) but those are some places we dined at and I liked.

I'll be living vicariously through the rest of your trip report. :thumbsup2

Oh yay! Good to hear from another picky eater that those places are good to go! Prince is soo picky, but I think he'll enjoy it!! :cutie:

Thanks for your input. Sounds like you had a good time on your trips. Hopefully you found out good things lol.

Very glad he introduced you to Disney. Im sure it has opened pandoras box like it has for me hahaha.:lmao:

And I might just do the upgrade. I think it'll be a cute anniversary present. I'm just waiting on those dang AP rates to come out already!!!!

Glad you like! Stay tuned for more :) :surfweb: And congrats Butterball about your recent engagement!! How exciting :):cloud9:

Roadblock!!!!

Just found out we can't reserve a king at Pop and that it is first come first serve.

:surfweb:

I was also told that there are very few and that they usually go to handy capable guests which I can understand but I am sure Prince will be upset! :headache:

There is no way he let alone we can fit into a full :sad2:

So with this happening, do you think I should just upgrade to the Deluxe and surprise him???

A Disney trip for a combined anniversary and belated honeymoon sounds great! Our anniversary is that week too, maybe we'll celebrate ours there some year.
I have never stayed at AKL, so I don't have any input for you, but I think it is a nice idea for an anniversary gift if you can swing it, especially now since you're not guaranteed a king at Pop.
I haven't dined at any of those three places that you made your ADRs for, but we are going to CRT and 1900 for our first time on our upcoming trip.
Looking forward to following the rest of your adventure and you continue to plan your trip :)

Thanks!!! :cutie: When is your upcoming trip? If it's before ours you might have to tell me how 1900 is! But i have heard nothing but good things!!

So,

Now that we know we won't get a King at Pop, I am desperately trying to find a cheap aternative to upgrade. :confused3

I really don't want to spend our Anniversary trying to have Prince sqeeze into a full. He simple just will not fit. And, sorry for all those younger readers out there, but I simply want to be able to snuggle with him on our anniversary, and that ain't happenin with a full bed :snooty:

Prince is in love with AKL, but its double the price of POP, and now that the value season discount is no longer available and AP discounts haven't come out there isn't a chance in H-E-L-L I can afford it :sad2:

Asking the family for a birthday present :)

Let's see what happens and let me know if you find anything!!!!

WOW! That was fast :scared1:

I AM SO EXCITED!:woohoo: I am offically booked for AKL!!!

Now it is going to take EVERY little bit of me NOT to spoil the surprise to Prince!!! I am way to excited and just want to shout it out to him :goodvibes

:rotfl:

I will continue my Pre Adventure in a new thread, so keep posted!

One last question:

So now I have to cancel Pop. Will this mess up my ADRs and other reservations???? I hope not!!
