Disneymoon 09...oh the plannnning has begun!!! 11/29, Almost alll Packed!!!!

forgive me, i'm jumping in here late.
i completely understand with all the wedding stuff... we were in the same boat of whatever we choose someone will be unhappy. so eventually we decided to make ourselves happy and got married on the beach. we just told our parents afterwards. so good for you!

Me too! I finally started a wal-mart list, that way we can pick stuff up over the month insted of getting it all at once.

Now I'm thinking about doing a garden Grocer order. Or just packing stuff in the suitcase, then using the extra space from our food to bring home souvineers. Thoughts?

we did a combination of both- we used garden grocer for things that would get broken in travel or were very bulky or heavy (sodas, water, chips) and brought everything else in our suitcase (100 cal packs, coffee, nuts, etc)

you and dfi may be able to get your clothes in one suitcase, but i'm not sure if you can get everything. what are you using for carryons? you each get an allotment of one carryon and one personal item. i always take a backpack or tote as my personal item- much more room then a purse. i also packed one of those reusable totes into my suitcase- i needed some additional room for the return home and it was perfect. saved me from wearing jackets on the wayto the airport at 90degrees. plus a bit of room was left for the goodies i bought. i also saw tons of people carrying the shopping bags you get at the parks. so i'm not sure how "by the book" the airport actually is.

Welcome!! Ugh I'm really excited, but wanting it to be over at the same time (doesnt that sound horrible!)

I am taking a rolling carry-on that i know i can fit quite a bit in. change of clothes, meds, and a few more things. I'm not sure of DFi plans. He saw a backpack he likes, but it doesnt appear to be that big, so that may change. The more I think about it the more I think we may need to check another bag. I really do not want to, BUT I want to make sure we have enough room to being home things and truthfully, buying and checking a 2nd bag would be cheaper then paying the overweight bag fees! I believe we will just be packing food. DFi wasnt so hip on the garder grocer order for this trip. We are really trying to be budget minded since my work hours have been cut drastically from the dental office, which was my big money maker. So budget alllll the way this time! I think I may take my black pack pack (pictured in previous post) as my personal item. I can get at least another change of clothes in there, and i might even stick meds/liquids in there. We'll see. :)

Hi everyone. Let me first say....

:cheer2:3 weeks!!!!:cheer2:

Ok now that I have that out of my system, I can continue! hehe!

Today I broke down and bought a new suitcase to take. I decided after inspecting the one we have that it would just not be big enough. Yes, we could make it work, but I would be very limited on the amount of items we could bring back, even if we do laundry while we are there. So to make it less stressful I just decided to check 2 bags. Here is my new suitcase. I found it at TJ maxx for $70. It is pink and one of the ones that is hard all around. I hope it makes it thru the airport ok!

I plan to have DFi pack in our original suitcase, and I will pack in the pink one. That way we can both have enough room to bring what we want. I plan to (hopefully!) leave both about half empty to have room to bring things home.

As my mom and dad are flying now I am having a tough time getting my mom to understand why she can only pack certain things, and her suitcase has to weigh under 50lbs.:sad2: She doesnt get what I say when I mention my carry on, or a checked bag. It is very frustrating! I get it because she hasnt flown since 1996, so there are lots of changes, but i can only explain it so many times! I think I am just going to have her come down to our apartment so I can show her all of our luggage so she can get an idea of what size a carry on can be and what to do with liquids and such. I havent flown since 1996 either, but at least I can get on the net and figure out these things!

I have to work tomorrow and thrusday half days at the dental office. I am really dreading it. There was some drama lately with an empolyee who was fired (it was my cousin, she was completely screwed over by the office. they fired her while she is still under a medical leave by the doctor, completely wrong and probably illegal.) and I hope that I am not brought into it. I am totally on my cousins side, but the office doesnt need to know it. I plan to keep my head down and if I am questioned, play dumb!:lmao: I only agreed to work these 2 days because disney is coming up and this is probably the only opportunity I will get to work before we leave. Disney may be the only thing that keeps me going...

Woohoo for my bridal shower being on saturday! :woohoo: I am super excited for it! I really just want to see everyone who comes (i think i have posted about this before lol). I talked to my hairdresser and she said it was def. ok to bring my birdcage veil for us to play around with when I get my hair cut. She actually gets married Nov. 21st and she wanted a BC veil so she is really excited about it, making me super excited too! Friday starts things off with me working 7-1 (grr i hate that job!) then running home, changing, then heading to Sams club with my sister who is coming up from Columbus, OH for the weekend. We are doing the shopping for the shower since my mother will be nannying (like the new word there haha!) and won't be able to come with us (she isnt 100% yet). We have to pick up the cake, and pick up a candy tray I ordered as well. I have a feeling its going to be a really busy, but a really good day as well. I love hanging out with my sister, and I really hope my mom decides to join us.

Enough off topic ramblings for me tonight! Have a great Veterans day everyone! :goodvibes

Sorry I'm late to the party, but I'm all caught up now.
My wife and I were high school sweethearts as well. We actually met in 7th grade gym class, started dating in high school, married at 21 while in college.

Regarding the weather, check this site out if you haven't yet. http://www.wunderground.com/tripplanner/index.asp?MR=1. You give it a location and date range, and it gives you the historical weather data and averages. For Dec 2-6, there was an average high of 75°, average low of 56°.

Congratulations on the wedding and Disneymoon! I'm subbing in to go along for the ride!

Thank you! My DFi and I rode the same bus in elementary school, but never really "met" eachother until we had class together. We will be together 6 years this Feb!

Thanks for the weather tip, that is the one thing that has been bugging me! I just need to know what to pack haha! But coming from OH where the weather has been pretty up and down, I think i have a general idea, I just dont want to get there and be totally unprepared and have to shell out money for the right clothes!

We've been there twice in early December. It can be pretty chilly in the mornings and evenings, so make sure you have a sweatshirt or jacket along. We were caught unprepared one day and had to drop $50 on a hood sweatshirt.:scared1:

Haha well thankfully I will be able to wear a jacket on the plane because I'm sure it will be pretty darn chilly here when we leave! BUT that is the exact situation I am trying to avoid!

Love the new pink bag! We have hard sided luggage too. The only draw back is that the bag weighs 15lb empty! So reaaalllly watch your weight!

I agree about the work drama, just keep you head down and try not to get involved!

Wooo Hoooo 3 weeks!

This bag seems pretty light, I haven't weighed it yet, but I think we might be ok!

Ugh about work. Really dreading not only with the drama, but that place in general puts me in a bad mood. I really dont enjoy my time there and it makes me question my whole career choice, because I am always thinking "is every office this way?!".

20 days! Tomorrow we will be in the teens! :)

I hate work drama!

3 Weeks!!!:banana::banana::banana:

Me too! I can't wait until I can get out of that office. Once my DFi gets all his work issues sorted out hopefully I can stop being the "breadwinner" and be able to stop working there.

It's coming up so quick! I really need to get moving on that packing list finally :cool1:

Yay for 3 weeks!!!! Have fun at your shower!!!

I know! Tomorrow makes 19 days! I am so looking forward to my shower. It's been a really long time since I have had a "me" day! I get my hair done that morning, and really, who doesnt love a trip to the salon? Then its time for the shower! So excited! I will def. take lots of pictures to liven up this PTR!!! :lmao:

19 Days!!!!! Congratulations! And after just reading about your work situation - ughhhhh! You need it more than ever!

Thanks! I know, we really need this! And I just got offered 2 months of work, 3 or 3.5 days a week at the dental office for maternity leave. I really dont want to take it, but with our financial situation, I dont think I can turn down almost $5000 in 2 months. I hate to be put in this situation, but it's our only option.

Just a quick stop by! Today is the shower yay! AND 17 days until we fly fly away! :) Be back later to post pictures!

How did the shower go? Did mom-in-law try to run that too?:rotfl2:

It went great! I plan to post today (or maybe tomorrow) about it! And no actually, she was very well behaved. Now the grandma (not mine) on the other hand, decided to corner both my and my DFi seperately to once again guilt us about not having the wedding at home. :sad2: Needless to say I was less then pleased and let them know it lol. But all in all it was a great day!
